Do you have a love for a sport or hobby that you been playing since you were very young? Well, Simone Biles had been having a love for gymnastics since she was just six years old and she started training at eight years old with her coach Aimme Boorman. Simone Biles had the best Olympics because she won the most medals out of all the gymnasts that competed and she dedicates 300 days out of the whole year training. However, people think Michael Phelps did the best because he won the most gold medals out of all USA Olympic medalist. Simone Biles won the most medals out of all the gymnasts in 2016 summer Olympics. The runner up for the 2nd place was her teammate, Aly Raismen. She won a total of five medals in the Olympics and four out of the five She try's to perfect every one of her events she competes in or at least improves what she needs to work on. Simone's daily schedule is in the morning she eats a very healthy, but light breakfast then heads to the gym from 8am to 12pm. She eats a well protein lunch then heads back to the gym from 1pm to 6pm. After that she eats a nutritious dinner then ends the night with doing an hour of physical therapy either at her gym or her house. She repeats this schedule for 300 out of 365 days a year. Other things Simone loves to do besides gymnastics is doing various activities like biking, swimming, hiking, and cross training to build her lower and upper body strength. Simone is a very active and adventurous person. She is always trying to have fun by exercising! Therefore, I believe Simone had the best Olympics because all her hard work and her accomplishments she worked for paid off. However, people may still think a different Olympian did better like for instance Michael Phelps. People might consider Michael having the best Olympics because he won the most medals in the Olympics. I do agree Michael did an amazing job, but I think swimming doesn’t take as much of hard work and stamina to swim down a pool then to perfect a gymnastics routine. In addition, this is why I think Simone did the

Gabby Douglas was the first African-American female gymnast in Olympic history to become the individual All-Around champion. In the 2012 Olympic Games, she won gold in the team competition and the individual competition. She is a gymnastics phenom. From the beginning of her career to where she is today, she has been a true trooper through everything. Gabrielle Douglas is an inspiration to me and many others because she overcame being homeless, moved in with a new family, and won Olympic gold in gymnastics.

Kerri Strug is remembered today for her performance at the 1996 Summer Olympics, but very few people know the rest of her story. Kerri was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. The Strugs were a family of five, and Kerri was the youngest. She had both an older brother and an older sister. Although Kerri had many outstanding accomplishments as a gymnast, her vault on July 23, 1996, earned her a place in gymnastics’ history. It is widely known that women were simply not allowed to attend these games, however, we all bore witness to Cynisca of Sparta become the first woman to win an olympic event! Women are typically only allowed to attend the games in regards to equestrian events and even then they were not allowed to run in the games; women were only permitted to attend if they owned or trained the horses that would be in the game. Cynisca’s participation, and eventual win, has now seemingly become the symbol for societal progress for women. As the chariots neared the disastrous turns at the end of the hippodrome, sections of the crowd held their breath while others cheered from sheer excitement. Every team knew that each approach to a turn could be the end of the race for them, possibly even the end of their lives. As Cynisca’s chariot rounded the first turn, her horses strained forward, accelerating and reaching a dangerous speed. We witnessed numerous teams get taken out while advancing towards the turns by crashing with opposing teams; were these crashes intentional? Although purposefully crashing into an opponent is illegal, we all know it has happened at one point or another! Steadily yet rapidly, Cynisca’s team overtook their opponents and showed no signs of letting up. As they passed the last chariot, the wheels bumped and squealed against those of her opponent. The audience shot to their feet in awe and disbelief; they had just bore witness to the first female winner of the chariot

Preparing for competition is easier said than done, you need a passion to complete the task. Competition is extremely stressful, but amazing at the same time. It?s a process of mixed emotions, not knowing if it?s importance will have a meaning in the end. Having practice six times a week allows us to work on our jumps, cheers, dances, tumbling, and the most difficult, stunting. Just the counts and lifting people in the air is traumatic enough, but repeating it over and over again it gets strenuous. Dancing is relaxing when you have counts to them, but when you have to learn the dance to the music people get confused and don?t know when to leave to the next formation. Team members start getting fed up with each other at the closing stages of practice, it?s just a natural human reaction after practicing with the same fifteen to twenty girls for three hours.
