Similarities and Differences of International and Local Rock Music

Entertainments have existed for a very long time. For few centuries, entertainment is a form of activity that could capture audience attention and entertain them. We could trace the history of entertainment until a period where Pharaohs are still ruling Egypt or even older that might extend until prehistoric era. Since then, entertainment had evolves and there are varying forms of entertainment in this modern era. One of the few forms of entertainment is music. As stated in Wikipedia, the word music originates from the word musique, in old French or Latin word which is borrowed from the Greek word mousa that are known as muse, Goddess of Different Art or Science. There are a lot of music genres in this world and I would like to talk about the differences and similarities between local and international rock music.
One of the differences between local and international rock music is the language. Language is an important tool that is used to communicate or connect with others. The same goes with rock music. Our local rock bands possess good qualities traits that could match with international rock bands. However, our local language, which is Malay, not understandable by others except the locals. Because of this, language barriers are formed and our local rock bands music could not reach people from other countries as they would not understand the song. However, this is different with international rock bands because the language used, which is English, are understandable by most people from other countries. This enables their music to reach other people from various countries because the language barriers between them have been lifted. ...riot and American Idiot. Our local rock bands also produce rock music which is similar with them. For example, Revolusi by Bunkface and rock songs by Lamb Of God. The conclusion is youth voiced out their thought and expressing their feelings about life and society through rock music.
As a conclusion, music is one of the entertainments which have existed for few centuries which evolved and splits into lot of types of genre including rock genre. Rock music is a form of entertainment but it also used as medium to express their feelings. Although the origin of rock music might be in America but our local rock band have adjusted and improved in order to produce rock music that on par with international rock music. Even though the differences between them are quite far, but it never stop our local rock bands to produce good quality songs as our local youth entertainment.
