The similarities and differences between the development between “The Count of Monte Crisco” and “blessing”. The “blessing” is a theme about don’t judge a book by its cover and also about friendship. The theme for “The Count of Monte Crisco” is freedom. The way that the theme is devolved is by these two girls doing a play and they learned a lot about each other. Like one of them found out that the other girl is good at leading. Jesse also learns that Rene paints maps. At the end they both walk out of the room playfully.
Throughout both texts "The Count of Monte Cristo", and " Blessings", there were different themes. I think the theme of the story "Blessings" is how both girls express themselves at least once. Jesse explains how she likes to write poems and likes to cook. She says that she also makes amazing mirrors from redwood, she says," she doesn’t know how good they are", but I can imagine they are pretty good from how she described them as. So I would say the theme is that everyone is different and everyone has their own talents.
Andy goes back to school and talks to his basketball coach about how he feels about Rob's death and how his fiends and family feel about the accident. In addition, they discuss Andy's sentence because Andy keeps punishing himself for Rob's death. Everybody at school was crying during Rob's memorial service. The story follows three girls- Jeanette, the oldest in the pack, Claudette, the narrator and middle child, and the youngest, Mirabella- as they go through the various stages of becoming civilized people. Each girl is an example of the different reactions to being placed in an unfamiliar environment and retrained. Jeanette adapts quickly, becoming the first in the pack to assimilate to the new way of life. She accepts her education and rejects her previous life with few relapses. Claudette understands the education being presented to her but resists adapting fully, her hatred turning into apathy as she quietly accepts her fate. Mirabella either does not comprehend her education, or fully ignores it, as she continually breaks the rules and boundaries set around her, eventually resulting in her removal from the school.

Melinda transforming the janitor’s closet symbolizes her hiding her feelings and Melinda’s inability to speak and tell people what happened to her. High school can be fun but unfortunately through the eyes of Melinda it was a very hard time.
Marquez used Magical Realism elements to showcase supernatural beings, and to teach valuable lessons. Within the themes of both stories a strong moral component is found. To get the point of this moral across, Marquez uses distinct writing techniques. He paints the picture of his setting through his descriptive language, but, not all of his stories are exactly the same! The major themes related directly to the entire context of the story. The formidable mother-daughter conflict going on throughout the story exposed the clash of their cultural roots. The conflict showed the theme where the mother does not understand the game of chess and does not accept Waverly playing it. Also, it showed it when Waverly felt embarrassed by her mother using her as a trophy metaphorically. Another theme is the symbolic games of chess that Waverly played. Without the use of symbolism the story would have lost a major impact on the plotline. Also, Amy Tan used setting to her advantage to fully show the tone of the story and created a scene of emotion.
