I agree Ruby Bridges and Rosa Parks are important figures to civil rights past . Ruby bridges was the first colored to get into an all white school . By doing that Ruby was tormented by the people who were there . It had not only affected our lives and the civil right it also affected her life . For instance Ruby would not eat any food that was not packaged or she would not drink anything not in a can . That was because of the way the whites treated black one white threatened to poison Ruby . something that both Rosa and Ruby have in common is they both refused to give up for the whites . They stood for what they believed in . For instance Rosa Parks refused to give her seat to a white man . Both of these people helped out segregation laws
In order to be a hero, one must be courageous. Some people that are heroes are Susan B. Anthony and Harriet Tubman.
... what she did is just as important as what Rosa Parks did. Perhaps her story is just more obscure and needs to be brought up more often. Even though slavery is long gone and we now have a black President, racism still exists. However, Graham’s contributions made people think twice about what they were doing and maybe changed the minds of some. People like Graham are admirable and even though she may not have made it to the history books, she will never be forgotten.
Viola Desmond and Rosa Parks are very much alike for a number of reasons, however, they do have their differences. I will be comparing their stories, the result of their acts and how they influence/affected others. Both Rosa Parks & Viola Desmond had very inspiring stories, as they had done similar things and show great courage and determination.
The similarity between Susan B. Anthony speech and Martin Luther King Juniors “I Have a Dream” speech is that they are fighting for the equality of America. Susan B. Anthony is fighting for women being able to vote like everyone else. Martin Luther King is fighting for the equality of African Americans. Both just want to see America as an equal place instead of discrimination against others based on race or gender. Even though their message has similarities the way they delivered them was different.
Are you a Leader… Or an Example…Or are you Neither..? In the book Ruby Bridges by Robert Coles. Ruby the main protagonist is a black girl who lives in a segregated town. (Segregation is when people were forced to be separated by race). With this, I believe Ruby Bridges is a Leader because Ruby Bridges is thoughtful, determined and most of all Ruby Bridges is loyal to those she trusts.
Rosa Parks was a African American woman who sat in the front of the bus after a long hard day at work. As she traveled on the bus back home, a Caucasian male approached and asked her to get up from her seat to go to the back of the bus because he wanted to sit there. Instead of avoiding the trouble and just going to the back of the bus, she decided to stay where she was . Due to the time period, because of her not giving her seat up to the gentlemen, she was arrested and charged with civil disobedience. After her arrest was made a boycott would ensue
Ruby Bridges is one of the very many people who has changed history. Bridges has helped desegregate schools all around the world. She still stands today, sharing her thoughts and ideas to stop racism and segregation. Ruby’s life has had many ups, and downs, but she still seems to look on the bright side in almost every situation. Whites threatened and harshly criticized brave, confident, heroic American activist, Ruby Bridges for being one of the first African-American children to enter the William Frantz Elementary School, a school for white students, which helped end segregation in schools. Without Ruby Bridges, our schools may still be segregated to this day.
Rosa Parks What’s a hero? A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities. Hero’s can also be someone who has made a change in the world and or a society like Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks is considered a hero because of all the things she went through and made happen throughout her life.
“If it is deemed necessary that I should forfeit my life for the furtherance of the ends of justice, and mingle my blood further with the blood of my children and with the blood of millions in this slave country whose rights are disregarded by wicked, cruel, and unjust enactments-I submit; so let it be done.” Imagine this man as a person who decided to make a change in the world and fight for what is right. John Brown was one of the major abolitionists and had the audacity to achieve his many accomplishments. This paper will cover his early life, life as an abolitionist, later life with events that lead to his death, his last speech, including how it impacted many others, and how Harriet Tubman and John Brown were alike/not alike.

The Mother of the Civil Rights Movement Have you ever stood up for someone or something, even if it risked your own life? An upstander is someone who sees something harmful happening and tries their best to help out without second guessing themselves. Rosa parks is an inspirational role model to women and men all around the world. Rosa Parks has been a leader since she was a kid at school.
When comparing two leaders, people tend to look at the characteristics, or leadership, traits that the person has. Even if the two people seem like an unlikely pair, it is the traits that prove the similarities. Courage, confidence and initiative are traits that both Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States, and Rosa Parks, a civil rights activist, demonstrated during their time of leadership.

Rosa Parks was 42 years old when she decided she was done putting up with what people told her to do. She suffered being arrested for fighting for what she wanted. Rosa Park’s obstinacy and the Bus Boycott were some acts that affected the Civil Rights Movement. Other effects of the Civil Rights Movement were the way African American were treated and how it changed America as a whole.
If it was not for Rosa Parks, the United States would still have segregation in the world. She refused to give her seat up on the bus, to help get rights for African Americans. By not giving up her seat to a white man, Rosa Parks has started the cause of the civil rights movement in the United States. This helps all African Americans get rights in America. Rosa Parks got a lot of rewards and had a husband that felt the same way as she did about African Americans. Today, African Americans have rights in the United States, thanks to Rosa
ISFJ strengths are that we are supportive, we share knowledge, experience, time and energy with anyone who needs it. They are also reliable and patient, loyal and hardworking. I think these really explain who I am because I like to think I'm all of those things. I tried to always be better than the person I was yesterday and that takes a lot of dedication and hard work.
