My initial intentions were to watch two notorious films; Romeo and Juliet and Zodiac. Though both are completely different in genres, it’s truly exhausting to keep up with two extensive stories that showcase murder drama. Therefore, I researched and came across plenty fascinating movies, and decided upon to similar yet unalike. On September 18, 2016, there in my room accompanied by my younger brother, we settled for “Untraceable”. The 1 hour and 41 minutes thrill-set movie was not to my expectations, as it revealed secrets a bit too early and future actions were easy to guess. The single mother FBI agent Jennifer Marsh, spends most of her night shifts hunting down criminals in cyberspace alongside with her good friend Griffin Dowd. The thrill of suspense was inviting yet frustrating throughout both movie but I highly preferred Se7en then Untraceable. Untraceable seemed too irrational and quick revealing whereas Se7en twisted yet beautifully oriented. Untraceable presented the occurrence of each death whereas Se7en didn’t however the over-excessive obscenity language, almost made up for its absence. It’s impressive that the Se7en how the serial killer used embedded the 7 deadly sins in his criminal acts but the 7 heavenly virtues are never recognized which implies that he only embodies evil. On the other hand, Untraceable was avenge related. The killer experiment first and only used victim who took part of filming or presenting the suicide for psychopath’s relative, and those who came close in revealing the truth.
