During the play there were a lot of differences and similarities compared to the stories. I will list some differences and then I will list the similarities. There were a lot of changes in the play’s than the stories such as the setting, characters, props, and how they act or their emotions. Some of the differences between the play’s and the stories was that the setting was different because they did not have enough props and characters to do they job. Another one is how they used the different props in the background such as the different doors of each play because of the time and date of when the different plays happened. They also had a fun background on the projector for when Ichabod was running from the Headless Horseman. S. Major Morris
was not there in the play and instead his wife was the character because they did not have enough characters playing the parts. Another difference from the story to the play was that in the stories they had horses that the Headless Horseman, Brom Bones, and Ichabod had. The play however, did not have any horse whatsoever. Not even fake horses. A third difference was that during The Necklace in the story described exactly how Madame Loisel looked. Her hair was all messy, she had cracked nails, old patched up clothes, and the play did not mention one bit of it. Also in The Jumping frog of Calaveras County in the story they talk about what the frogs look like and how small they are and during the play they over exaggerate it and use a lot of hyperbole with the frogs because they are real humans so they are much larger and have bigger hands and feet. Another difference between the story and they play was that there was only one police officer in the play and in the story there are two policemen. In the play they only had five actors acting out the parts so that is why they only had one policeman. In the play there were also a lot of similarities going on between the story and the play. One of the similarities was that the characters never changed. There were the same people acting it out in the play and in the story. Another similarity with the play and the story is that the noises and the words that the actors said when they were the characters. And finally, the last similarity is that the play and the story were both entertaining. In conclusion, I thought that the play was cool and fun because it was honestly quite different from the story yet still had some similarities in common. I thought that there were a lot more differences between the story and the play than similarities. I also feel like the stories were better than the play’s because in a story you get to imagine what it looks like and in a play you can’t really do that. You can also describe scenes that happen and use more detail in stories than play’s. Overall, I thought the play was very injoyable and loved it because it tied with the story.
It was very nice to read something that had a lot of drama and suspense. This story has a mix of everything. It has a bit of suspense, drama, and comedy; therefore, it led it to be a very nice play. The people that would most like this play, has to be people who like suspense, drama, and thriller. When an individual has to do a compare and contrast for a short story in the realm of literature, I believe that you have to take into account the deeper meaning in a short story. You have to read between the lines, one has to know what the symbols and what metaphors are. “A symbol is something that has a literal identity, but also stands for something else—something abstract—like an idea, a belief, or an emotion. A metaphor is a figure of speech in which an implied comparison is made between one object and another that is different from it.” (Clugston, 2014) The reader needs to know that the author is using figurative language in the short story. Once the individual can understand this, the literature work will be significantly easier to do a compare and contrast essay.

In conclusion, details involving the characters and symbolic meanings to objects are the factors that make the novel better than the movie. Leaving out aspects of the novel limits the viewer’s appreciation for the story. One may favor the film over the novel or vice versa, but that person will not overlook the intense work that went into the making of both. The film and novel have their similarities and differences, but both effectively communicate their meaning to the public.

Second, that in the second Act in both stories the main couples declare their love for each other. The importance of the above characters from each play is that they serve as the basis for identifying characteristics.
The comparison and contrast between these two stories is evident. They both developed as characters in similar settings but have different situations and outcomes. They differed in their goals and how they would achieve their goals and their mental health status sets them apart. These stories have contrast and similarities, over all the differences outweigh the comparisons.

There are differences in both texts with the way the characters fight reality, but the outcome is the same. The power of love in both texts is looked at as more important than social priorities and the main characters will do anything to get what they want and it results in death. One might come to conclusions to say that F. Scott Fitzgerald based the relationship of Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan on Romeo and Juliet, seeing that both stories have characters who do not accept the reality and in their minds, love overpowers everything. When looking at these two texts side to side, one would notice many similarities in the actions of the main characters.

In conclusion, these stories are very similar in many ways. Out of all the themes that could be used to compare the two, the most important ones are hatred, manipulation and hatred. Hatred is disliking some one or something and there are many characters that dislike each other. Manipulation is using your creativity to come up with a way to get someone to believe something that is not true. Lastly, jealousy, which is wanting something that someone else has and doing things to get it which is what Iago did in the play and Fernand did in the movie.
