“Amigo Brothers” by Piri Thomas is about two best friends that fight each other in the final round to represent their boys club in the “Golden Gloves” tournament. Antonio has many differences than Felix. Felix also has many differences from Antonio. The amigo brothers also have many similarities between them. The characters have many similarities and here are some similarities between Antonio and Felix. One similarity between the characters is they both grew up on the upper east side of Manhattan. A second similarity between Felix and Antonio is both of them had a chance to represent their club in the “Golden Gloves” tournament. that they don’t get distracted. There are some details that show how the characters are similar. Antonio and Felix also have many differences, here are some ways that Antonio is different from Felix. Another way that Antonio is different from Felix is during the fight Antonio threw head shots at Felix. A third difference between Antonio and Felix is Antonio was fair, lean and lanky. Those are some ways that Antonio is different from Felix. While Antonio is different from Felix, Felix is also different from Antonio. Felix is dark, short, and husky which is almost the complete opposite of Antonio. While Antonio had a lean form and a long reach Felix had a short muscular frame that made him the better slugger. In the beginning of the fight Felix wasted no time and went straight for the body. Antonio and Felix have many similarities and differences and those are some details that prove that statement. The theme of the story is, “No matter what happens, friends are most important.”
