In the story that I read the Setting was a Monday morning in the middle of November. And Laketon Elementary School was in the middle of New Jersey. The Main Characters of my story are Dave Packer and Lynsey Burgess. Dave is in the 5th grade and he is 10 years old. He has Freckles, hazel eyes, and brown hair. He is a brave and smart kid but he is a little lazy. Dave is a blabber mouth. He does not get along with girls. In the beginning. Dave was impolite to the girls, but by the end he was more mature. Lynsey has blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and blond hair. She is very serious. She is very smart. She also is talkative. Lynsey and Dave fight a lot. In the beginning Dave Packer was in the middle of an experiment to see if he could not talk for a whole day.
He got into an argument at lunchtime with Lynsey about how she was talking so much about a sweater. He blew his experiment. Dave and Lynsey started a boys vs girls contest to see who could talk less. The rules were that they could only talk to teachers, and use only three words. They were also not allowed to talk at home and had to work with the honor system. The 5th graders started the contest. The teachers and principals thought is was freaky because this group was called the Unshushables. They were called this because they never stopped talking. Some teachers thought the contest was amazing because they don’t have to yell all day and it was easier to have learn in the quiet. The other teachers thought it was bad because it was harder to teach them because with only three words the students couldn’t participate correctly. Ms. Hiatt had an assembly to try to stop the contest. The fifth graders did not listen to Ms. Hiatt. The principal got mad and she yelled at Dave in front of the whole fifth grade and used a bullhorn. He felt like she was a bully so he yelled back at
her. In the end Dave and Ms. Hiatt apologized to each other. Dave ask Ms. Hiatt to join the contest and she made the whole school do it. At lunch on the last day of the contest, the girls should have won by 27 points. However, Lynsey tied the contest up by saying something nice to the 5th grade that was 27 words long.

I read the book Lonesome Howl, which is a drama book and a love story. The book was about two main character whose names are Jake and Lucy. They lived with their family in two different farms, but in the same community besides a mountain covered in a big wicked forest where many rumors took place. The farmers around the place lost many sheep’s since a feral beast. It was a quite small community and a lot of tales was told about it to make it even more interesting. Lucy was 16 years old and lived with her strict father and a coward of mom who didn’t dare to stand up for her daughter when she were being mistreated and slapped around by her father. Lucy was a retired and quite teenager because of that. She had a younger brother whose name was Peter. Peter was being bullied in school and couldn’t read since the education of Peter was different compare too Lucy’s. She helped him in school and stood up for the mean bullies, although all she got in return was him talking bullshit about her with their cruel dad which resulted with her getting thrash.
My first character is Lally 2, a quiet insecure eleven year old boy. His parents neglect him and his brother doesn?t care about him and he gets a feeling of hopelessness and loneliness. He has low self esteem because of his parents absence in his life, but he shows a lot of compassion to others. He turns to the Ooms, creatures in the sauna, for comfort, he feels that they are the only ones he can talk to and trust. When he is at camp, he runs away and takes his radio with him so that he doesn?t feel alone.

The main character of this book is Susan Caraway, but everyone knows her as Stargirl. Stargirl is about 16 years old. She is in 10th grade. Her hair is the color of sand and falls to her shoulders. A “sprinkle” of freckles crosses her nose. Mostly, she looked like a hundred other girls in school, except for two things. She didn’t wear makeup and her eyes were bigger than anyone else’s in the school. Also, she wore outrageous clothes. Normal for her was a long floor-brushing pioneer dress or skirt. Stargirl is definitely different. She’s a fun loving, free-spirited girl who no one had ever met before. She was the friendliest person in school. She loves all people, even people who don’t play for her school’s team. She doesn’t care what others think about her clothes or how she acts. The lesson that Stargirl learned was that you can’t change who you are. If you change for someone else, you will only make yourself miserable. She also learned that the people who really care about you will like you for who you are. The people who truly love you won’t ask you to change who you are.

The teacher walked to the front of the room with her book in hand and as she got closer to the front, Paul got lower in his seat. He knew what was coming next; it was time for the class to read the next chapter. The teacher would start reading and then call on different students to read as they moved through the chapter. This scared Paul right down to his toes. He had read in front of the class before, but it was what followed after class that worried him the most. The taunts from the other students like “retard” or “are you stupid or what?” This type of relentless teasing would continue until gym class where he could hold his own ground again. He did not have any problems in gym; class he was good at sports and liked to play. The reason that Paul has so much trouble reading is because he has Dyslexia.

In my book the Perks of Being a Wallflower, there are four main characters. Charlie, Sam, Patrick, and Mary Elizabeth. The way that the Author describes charlie is kind of like a sensitive young man who is trying to figure out what to do with his life. He doesn’t really have any friends because last year, his best friend died and his Aunt died in a car crash. Sam seems like a really energetic young woman who loves hanging out with her friends and listening to classic rock. I think that the Author made her character perfectly because every word she says, seems like she is happy on the outside but a little lost in the inside. Patrick is a jokester who is depressed sometimes because he is gay and his boyfriend has to pretend that he doesn’t love him. He is Sam’s step brother and they seem to be great friends. He loves music as well. Mary Elizabeth is a mix between a buddhist, and a punk. She shaved half of her head and on the weekends she has a show called “punk rocky” which is supposed to be a re-make of this show called the rocky horror picture show. She dates Charlie for a while but is controlling, and Charlie doesn’t really like her because he likes sam, a lot.

We were first lead into a room where we could eat breakfast and revise our arguments. All of the participants were given a fact sheet outlining the details of the case ahead of time. We each had to prepare an argument for our case that we would present in front of experienced lawyers. After eating breakfast, we were divided into groups, and after we all presented our statements, each group would have a winner to represent their own school. After giving our arguments, we went into the auditorium, where we had a quick raffle, as well as a talent show with representatives from each school. The representative from my school, JHS 194, was my former classmate, Dylan, who spoke and made jokes for the audience. Other participants danced, sung, and did gymnastics. The winner was chosen by the level of applause they got from the audience, so of course, the winner was a young girl whose family was in the audience.
