A villain can be the greatest character in a story whether it be due to their terrible, well described and explained deeds or if the author decides to make them trusted by the reader. An amazing example of the first is from the great Disney film, The Lion King. In this film, we are told the story of a young lion cub who is preparing to be, well, the king. Warning, the movie will be spoiled for any who have managed to not see the movie. Simba is the young cub we get to know, learn, and love as The Lion King progresses but near the very beginning, we get to meet the evil uncle, Scar. Scar is the worst villain due to the absolute torment he places on Simba from a young age, the control he maintains throughout, and even after being defeated in the end of the film, the viewers never forget his name or role. …show more content…
Scar lives to his prove his name first on his terrifying face and the emotional impact he placed upon young Simba.
Very early in the film, viewers are met with the sight of Simba's father hanging off the a cliff then the appearance of Scar. As the father is clinging off for dear life and Scar debating saving his brother or letting him fall into a valley. As expected of any great villain, we see Simba's father fall down the steep cliff side. Following this is Simba witnessing his dad about to pass away because what occurs next is the most effective and depressing point in the movie since it establishes how truly evil Scar is. After he has fallen, a herd of wilder beast rush onto the screen thus effectively dethroning and murdering the current king. Young Simba, clinging on to a branch above his father, had to witness his father trampled thus scarring him for the rest of the
film. Now that the king has been dethroned and his son both too young and mentally petrified, Scar so graciously moves to the throne now being called king. Since he is now king, he is able to convince the masses that Simba's father was mysteriously trampled and then acts heartbroken to earn their trust and loyalty. Furthermore, he was able to persecute Simba and banish him. Even while Simba was off in the forsaken land, Scar was able to keep eyes on him through his minions and prepare for any return Simba may have. As Simba is off being the banished deceased king's son, Scar turns the once joyful savanna filled with sunshine into darkness and despair. Luckily, like every good childhood story goes, the protagonist returns to defeat the evil antagonist. Simba returns as a mostly grown lion to challenge his evil uncle for the throne and is successful in his battle. Although the kingdom is saved and Scar is defeated, the viewers and Simba can never forget the painful scene of his father being betrayed then trampled. Because of this depressing memory, Scar is successful in taking the title of best evil villain. From Scar to Simba, The Lion King is an amazing Disney film that will always be known as a classic. Although young and old viewers are met with the antagonizing betrayal and death of Simba's father, the rest of the film mostly makes up for these through the other more joyful scenes and sing-alongs. Back to scar, from the scar over his eye to the scar he leaves on everyone's mind and heart, the name is well earned. The best we can hope for is that no real life Scar appears anytime soon.
A villain is a person that poses a threat to the main character and Minor characters in the story. The villain in Nacho Libre (a fellow luchador champ named Ramses) is what the plot in the story revolves all around. Nacho is trying to raise money for the orphans and buy them some salads or something but Ramses is the person that stands in his way. But if you think about it Ramses weren’t there Nacho can’t win the money. Ramses is a key person in the movie, without Ramses Nacho would just be a sneezing cook at an orphanage with only Incarnasion to talk to and that guy who’s had diarrhea since Easters to make fun of and insult. (I think his name is Senor Ramon)
... the cause for all of the bad that had happened. This scene represents guilt and desperateness however, Simba does not fall for it. Scar ends up falling into a pit of fire which represents Hell. The hues that are used to create the fire are a monochromatic of red and orange. In the pit of fire there is no physical line for the foreground. As the story ends, Simba claims the throne and restores the Pride Land. The circle of life continues when Simba and Nala give birth to a newborn cub.
Literary villains are all around us. For instance, Voldemort from Harry Potter and Darth Vader from Star Wars. What makes a villain? They will go through anyone or damage anything to reach their goal. No matter how small or how tall they are, anyone can be a villain.
In the movie Simba feels that the death of his father, Mufasa, is his fault and that he is the one to blame, when in actuality Scar killed Mufasa so that he would have chance a being next in line for the throne to claim the title as King. Because of his father's death Simba runs away and tries to live a life of no responsibilites. “As Simba says, “I just needed to get out on my own, live my own life, and I did, and it’s great.” There are clear parallels here with Jesus’s Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11 32). In the parable, the son thinks he can live better without the responsibilities he has while living with his family, and so leaves to live in a ‘far country’. This is exactly how Simba behaves.” (Barfield, Jonathan), so as you can see, the two have a lot in common, The Lion King retold the story in a children friendly
In The Lion King, the role of the young prince whose father is murdered is played by a cub named Simba, whose naivete procures him more than his fair share of hardships and troubles. By the acts in the story alone, one can see that Simba is a direct representation of Shakespeare's Hamlet Jr., but not only that, each of them shares similar actions in the play. Interpretations if Simba's actions are as profound as Hamlet's, particularly of why Hamlet delayed in exacting vengeance for his father's death (Harrison 236). Both Simba and Hamlet Jr. "delay" their action of retribution for their respective father's deaths. The loss of their paternal companion leaves Hamlet incre...
The Lion King is a Disney animated movie portraying the life and times of Simba, who later becomes the greatest lion king known in the land. Simba's rise to the throne is a journey fraught with perils and hardships that make it an absolutely trilling story for the whole family! Although The Lion King is an exciting and entertaining movie, the movie is also a good illustration of several psychology concepts.
Simba embraces Scar valiantly, avenging his father's death, and destroying the shadow that destroyed him. The death of Scar brings the rebirth of the kingdom, the rebirth of Pride Rock, and the rebirth of power and justice. Simba roars a vociferous roar, restoring life to the pridelands. It begins to rain, symbolizing the cleansing of power, and the rejuvenation of Simba.
The Lion King is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, with some minor differences and a happier ending. Both narratives follow the Hero’s Journey, but The Lion King follows all twelve steps flawlessly. Simba’s experience in the belly of the whale is perhaps the shortest of the three examples, only really encompassing his fight with his uncle. It is Scar that initiates the fight, throwing embers into Simba’s eyes, they fight for a few minutes, and just when the audience thinks Simba is doomed, collapsed on the ground as his uncle pounces on him out of the flames, he throws Scar over a nearby cliff and into a group of vengeful
This upsets the Hyenas. They leave Scar to fight Simba by himself. Simba wins the fight and throws Scar off a cliff, into the herd of the Hyenas. The hyenas show no remorse for Scar and they trample over him, killing him. Once Simba takes back the throne, the whole kingdom becomes beautiful again and everyone is happy.

Simba was walking too slow In the movie Mufasa, the father of simba, has a son, simba, so his brother, scar, can’t be king. So he has a urge for revenge. In the play a sons, Hamlet, father, Old Hamlet/ghost, dies and the ghost comes and tells him his uncle killed him and he wants revenge. William Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Disney’s The Lion King are similar because Hamlets dad dies and he finds out the truth and seeks revenge on Claudius. When Simba found out that his dad died and found out that scar actually killed him and are different because -Scar turned his back on the king Claudius didn’t turn his back on the king.
The biblical characters are prophets and kings. In the narratives of the people of Israel, it is not difficult to see the pattern of almost all the kings. All but a few are corrupted, and get Israel in a lot of trouble with God. They help lead Israel to destruction. The role of the prophets is not only to warn the people of the coming punishment, but to also give hope and advice on how to make things right in the future. When looking at the Lion King, Scar embodies the kings and Simba embodies the prophets. Scar is a corrupt figure, and once he becomes king, the land becomes more desolate and the food supply starts running out. This resembles how the Israelites were to be punished for corruption. Simba comes
A villain is a character with evil intentions. Villains are selfish and care for only themselves. In the Nickelodeon cartoon Sheldon J. Plankton plays the villain that never seems to get away with it. Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz is a fictional character from the tv show Phineas and Ferb. His daily inventions are destroyed by a platypus. Zim from the animated series Invader Zim seeks to infiltrate earth. These three characters play the villains in their cartoon.
In The Lion King, the plot mirrors the plot of Hamlet as well. In the very beginning, Hamlet Senior is poisoned by Claudius, who then ascends to the throne and marries Hamlet's mother Gertrude. Similarly, Mufasa is thrown to his death by Scar, who goes on to become King of the Pridelands and leader of the pack, thus "marrying" Simba's mother, Sarobi.
The villain that I have chosen was Hades. Hades was ruler and ancient Greek god of the underworld. The underworld in Greek mythology is a world where the souls of the dead finally go rest. Like many other Ancient civilizations the Greeks believed in the idea of afterlife for the Greeks it was the underworld . The Greeks also believed that at the exacted moment of death is when your soul is leaves from your body. Then it takes shape of the former person, and from there your soul is transported to the Underworld.
