In 2010, I was in 11th grade in high school and I decided to drop out because It was difficult for me to get friends at school and get someone to talk to. My parent disagreed with my decision because I had good grades and they did not see anything that could make to drop out. I decided to get married to get out of school. In June 2010, I realized that I made the wrong decision and went back to school in August 2010 and graduated in December 2010. I did not follow my parents’ advice because I felt they were pushing me to stay in school and they did not want the best for me. After, I discovered that they wanted me to get a better job and better life. Furthermore, the best advice I received is not to give up because someone says I can’t do it. After I finished high school, I went to visit my parents and we had a good talk. I was with my siblings and I told them that I wanted to continue with school. My elder brother said that since I dropped out of high school, college will be harder than high school and I am going to waste time and money. My father told me to follow my heart and do what is best for me. I followed my father’s advice because I thought it is better to do what I feel is right in my life and I did not want to make mistakes as I did in high
The health care organization with which I am familiar and involved is Kaiser Permanente where I work as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse and later promoted to management. Kaiser Permanente was founded in 1945, is the nation’s largest not-for-profit health plan, serving 9.1 million members, with headquarters in Oakland, California. At Kaiser Permanente, physicians are responsible for medical decisions, continuously developing and refining medical practices to ensure that care is delivered in the most effective manner possible. Kaiser Permanente combines a nonprofit insurance plan with its own hospitals and clinics, is the kind of holistic health system that President Obama’s health care law encourages. It still operates in a half-dozen states from Maryland to Hawaii and is looking to expand...
My parents have always pushed me to be better than they were. They knew that if I wanted to be successful I needed to go to college. In highschool, they always made me put my education before anything else. My parents didn’t go to college so they would always tell me to not make that mistake because their lives could have been easier if they would of just invested a few more years into their education. They would also tell me about all the opportunities that missed out on because they decided not to further their education.
My parents have made most of my decisions about my life up until this point, where I go off to college. They have created a life for me and now it is my turn to take over and start making my own decisions. These decisions my parents have made for me have made it simpler to realize what I want my future to be like; how I want to live, who I want to be, and where I want to go with my life. They have shaped me into the woman I am today, and I cannot thank them enough for that, but now I understand I have to start making my own decisions. I feel I am prepared to manage my life and make my own judgements. But no matter what happens my parents will always be there to help guide me. Along with my parents help, I will be able to use the resources the Ohio State Marion campus offers me. If I ever require help in a class I know I can go to the tutoring center. I will have the library to utilize for studying and attaining any books I need to borrow. And lastly, I will also have professors and friends that I can confide
I was raised in an encouraging household where both of my parents greatly valued education. Although they were high school graduates, neither could afford to attend college; a combination of family and financial woes ultimately halted their path. As a result, my parents frequently reminded me that getting a good education meant better opportunities for my future. To my parents, that seemed to be the overarching goal: a better life for me than the one they had. My parents wanted me to excel and supported me financially and emotionally of which the former was something their parents were not able to provide. Their desire to facilitate a change in my destiny is one of many essential events that contributed to my world view.
Nursing came in a round-about way for me. I had little direction when I graduated high school and had already disregarded the nursing field due to an incident with a family member (who was a nurse) that had left a negative impression about the nursing field on me. I entered college planning on a pre-med or biology major. I had built up a vision of college being different- scholarly, intellectual, advanced- different somehow than school before. I soon was disillusioned. My first biology course was a bitter disappointment and I turned away from any thoughts of a medical/health related career altogether.
I chose nursing as my career. I will study to be an RN or registered nurse. A registered
My parents have this perfect life for me pictured in their heads, and the first thing they see me doing is going to college. They expect the best of me, and so by going to college, I will not only have fulfilled their goals for me, but I will have accomplished one of the goals I have set for myself. In our culture, when parents come to the age where they can’t support themselves, it is the duty of the children to look after them.

Choosing this career was a very big decision for
Nursing is not my job, this is my career. Gaining advance nursing education is my goal. I don’t even remember when I decided to be a nurse because I used to say I want to be a nurse when one of my teachers asked me in my grade 2. When I was in grade 4, we had to study about Florence Nightingale and I came to know how she helped people
My interest in nursing began at age 18 at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut where I was trained as a Certified Care Partner, then as a Phlebotomist, followed by a two year surgical floor assignment and a one year burn unit stint.

From a young age, I was drawn to the healthcare field, not because the amount of money doctors, nurses and other health professionals made, but because of the dedication and contentment I saw on their faces helping someone in need. Growing up everyone wanted to become a doctor or a nurse and as a little child being a doctor or a nurse was a profession many parents wanted their child to pursue as a career. Needless to say, I fell into that category because I had high hopes that one day I will become a nurse. However, that dream came to a halt.
Many years ago I remember my parents telling me that in order for me to become successful a college education was a must. They always told me that if I wasn’t in school I could no longer live at home. Both of my parents attended college but neither of them finished. They did not want me to go down that same road because they really regret not getting their degrees.

The one thing that interests me about wanting to become a health administrator is the jobs duties!
