Imagine being caged up all day for the rest of your life. It would be a nightmare. You would have people staring at you all day. It would be like watching a movie 1000 times. We should get rid of zoos because they only have a certain area to do things in and they don't have the same environment as the wild.
We should get rid of zoos because the animals only have a certain area to walk, swim, fly or run in. In the video Should Zoos Exist by Mikaela Nilsson claims that the animals only have a certain area to move in. For example, big cat animals have 18,000 times less space in zoos than in the wild. What this really means is that they are losing muscles to run or walk. That is a problem because they might get put back into the wild and then have no muscles to run and catch prey or to defend themselves. Another reason animals don't have enough room to move is that a bird might not have enough room to fly. Because of this, the zookeeper might cut off their wings. That would hurt the animal and that might make the animal want to hurt the zookeeper.

For example, they have been physically and mentally destroyed. That is bad because they could die in the cages. This is also bad because they could not forget important things like to eat and not to hurt the zookeepers. This shows that they do not like the cages and could die from being in the cages too long. Also, some animals bite at the bars on the cages or pound on the glass because they are unhappy from being in cages too long. That is bad because they could they could break their teeth or their beak and not be able to eat so they could die from starvation. Also, a gorilla could run and pound on the glass and break it, they could escape the cage, he could hurt people and run out of the zoo and out onto the streets. This all shows that animals do not like the cages and zoos should be
Tigers, lions, giraffes, and other exotic animals are rarely seen in the wild. However the public, without humans and/or animals being harmed at the same time, can see exotic animals when a zoo opens. Zoos for many are a wonderful experience, but to others they see the animals as being treated poorly and not able to roam free. These people do not consider the beneficial sides of zoos. Zoos around the world help species that have been endangered by protecting and caring for them. Otherwise they would have became extinct and killed for their valuable fur or feathers. Zoos were created for a purpose that needed to be filled. If there were no purpose for them they would have not been created. Zoos are needed and if there is a need in this world, the spot will most likely be filled without hesitation. Some zoos were not trained properly and do not treat their animals very well. Some bad zoos do not feed their animals enough and keep them in a confined cage. Although some zoos are harmful for both animals and people, many of them are good zoos and take care of their animals better than most people take care of them selves. It is amazing to be able to see such care and love are associated with zoos. Not only do zoos help the endangered animals they also help people learn to respect such amazing creatures. Zoos are a good attribute to society because they promote education, research, protect, conserve, and outlook.
If families and children come along to zoos as often as the figures say then ideas will be put in their heads that it’s okay for animals to be trapped in small cages and that they are only there for our entertainment and not our educational needs.
Everybody’s been to the zoo; they’ve either enjoyed a dolphin show, or fed the penguins. Zoos have been a part of American culture for centuries. At first, a zoo could be seen as nothing more than a jail cell for animals, but today, zoos are being completely transformed. What used to be confined cages are now being revolutionized into acres of land for different species to reside in. The opponents of zoos feel that they are inhumane and harmful to animals. However, zoos are beneficial for several different reasons, including, animal conservation and captive breeding, scientific studies, healthcare, and education.
A modern question in today's age, are zoos bad for the animals. There are facts from both sides of this argument. They are not capturing the animals from the wild anymore they are born and raised in the zoos. They use antidepressants to keep the animals happy from being in a pen. Zoos are bad for animals in the fact of keeping them penned up and not letting them be free.
Animals should be kept in captivity because they live longer, the help educate people, and most zoo take care of them. Many zoo animals get depressed because they either get stressed out, or bored. However good zoos give animals breaks and they will sometimes play with the animals. Zoos take care of their animals, because people enjoy going to a zoo where animals are healthy and do not look miserable. Animals in captivity usually live longer because they always have enough food, there are no predators to eat them and vets will treat them if they get sick or hurt. Zoos are also education, they teach people more about animals, where they live and how taking care of the environment saves animals. The reason why most people believe that animals should not be in zoos, is because they went to a zoo that does not take care of their animals. Those zoos should have the animals taken out there. However not all zoos are like that, there are plenty of zoos that have large enclosures and will play with their
Although in most cases sciencists and zoologists are trying to help and improve the animals health, animals should not be kept in zoos because its bad for their health, has a negative effect on their behavior, and the animals are put in bad living conditions. Zoos are overpopulated. Many zoos continue to breed the most popular animal, which commonly are babies. Therefore leaving the animals in an overpopulated habitat that causes the animals to be depressed and unhappy.
Zoos provide an invaluable service and therefore should not be closed. Animals are able to reproduce easier. They are able to eat more. Kids of all ages enjoy seeing and learning about endangered species.
Zoos are an unsuitable environment for wild animals and should, therefore, be abolished. Firstly, zoo animals are kept in a very confined area compared with their vast natural habitat. Secondly, breeding programmes are far less successful than zoos claim. Thirdly, zoo animals are exposed to many diseases and other dangers.
In zoos they use the animals as displays to show people what life in the wild is like, but they are just trapped in a cage not a wide open savanna or dense jungle. If you have ever been in a room by yourself or with the same people for a long period of time it can be boring and at some point even bad for you! “Studies have shown that animals can suffer physically, mentally, and emotionally.” This quote shows that just like humans animals can become hurt from being in a restricted environment. Also like us animals need to keep their minds active by learning and exploring, but you can not do that is you are restricted.
There is a tone of bad things about zoos. The conditions of zoos affect animals in many different ways. Most of the ways are negative . I’m going to explain why zoos are bad for animals and why we shouldn’t keep animals in the zoos. That includes the poor habitat, low diet, and not a normal breeding process.
I somewhat agree with this claim and feel it is animals rights activists strongest argument. The wild animals are housed in a space that is not even half of the area they would have if they were out in the wild. Living in such a unnatural habitat can cause a number of issues for the animals, both physically and mentally. At my recent trip to the zoo I witnessed for myself the signs that animals show when depressed or stressed. It was a very disturbing as well as heartbreaking situation to witness. Seeing this made it very hard to enjoy the animals. I couldn’t help but keep thinking to myself how unfair it was for them to be stuck in a cage where they cant roam free or interact with other species of their kind. Although they had a very strong argument I feel their weakest was the fact that they did not support the zoos educational programs. There is no doubt that education plays a very important roll in our everyday lives. Anybody can pick up a book or watch a documentary on Animal Planet but nothing beats having the contingency to learn about wild life in a up close personal
Animals should be free and in the wild, sometimes the animals might not have enough space to roam around. As stated in “The Impact of Animal Protection,” if animals have a small space they are more than likely to go psychotic. Small spaces may make animals breed forceful, which may make the animals overpopulate and they will need to have to kill off some of the species. Trying to keep the animals in captivity to extend their lifespan isn’t as good as it seems, if you put animals in the zoo, they don’t have the challenges to build up their strength as they do in the wild. The animals have more challenges to build up their strength and endurance than they do in an animal park.
Zoos cause an unhealthy lifestyle for animals. There are many reasons why. My reasons are that animals don’t get enough space to live in, their behavior changes, and they lose their natural instincts. First, animals don’t have enough space in their cages. Animals, like big cats often roam in areas up to 10 square miles.
Or read a book or an article online? You might also be asking yourself, “How is putting animals into zoos harming them?” According to the book Reality Central, there is an article named “Two Views of the Zoo” which says that in zoos, animals are fed every day and therefore have very little to do. Meanwhile in the wild, animals spend most of the day either hunting or looking for food. If animals are kept in zoos for too long, they might lose their natural instincts and not be able to survive when they get released back into the wild, if they get released.
The state of mind in which zoo animals are in, is an unhealthy one. Zoos are meant to keep animals in captivity to put on a show for humans. This is not a humane thing to do, and zoos should be banned all around the world. “Between 3,000 and 5,000 healthy ‘surplus’ animals are ‘culled’ (i.e., killed) by European zoos each year (PETA UK), this is not just happening in the United States. There have been multiple cases in which animals have been killed in zoos, put to sleep (killed on purpose) because of “incidents” that wasn’t the animals fault, and many more things that just are not right.
