Should the Cavs trade Kyrie Irving? Well, they already did but here is our take anyway. Dicky Fung Simply put, the answer is no. Trading a player of Kyrie Irving's caliber will not improve the Cavaliers chances of winning another championship. Needless to say, Cleveland will also have a hard time getting equal value back for their All-Star point guard, especially if the whole league has been put on notice that Irving isn't on good terms with teammate LeBron James. Of course, unless Cleveland is willing to get a promising young player in return that can both make an impact now and provide a future for Cleveland, the Cavaliers should hold out any offers for now. There are reports stating Kyrie had a misunderstanding with LeBron pushing …show more content…
The fact that the rest of the league knows Kyrie does not want to play on the Cavaliers anymore ruins any leverage that Cleveland had. That means there is only one option. Ignore his request and make him play in Cleveland. According to Spotrac, Kyrie Irving has three more years left on his contract(Year 3 is a player option). He can say he wants to get traded all he wants, but Kyrie is employed by the Cavaliers. The only way the Cavs win another championship is if they have a star of greater or equal value to Irving playing with LeBron James. At this point, no team in the NBA is willing to give up the talent that would make sense in return for a player with the skill set of Irving. The move is for the Cavaliers to talk to the disgruntled star and pitch the idea of championships. Kyrie Irving wants to be the guy somewhere, but he can be the guy when he is 28 years old and a free agent. It would be a career mistake for him to go somewhere else unless there is an opportunity for a championship. Cleveland needs to add more pieces to compete with the Golden State Warriors, but they cannot afford to let Irving go in the process of trying to win another NBA Championship. Irving will play if he is still under contract in Cleveland. If he does not that will ruin his trade value even …show more content…
Kyrie Irving is a dynamic offensive talent who has shown the ability to win huge playoff games. With that said, the Cavs would be crazy not to trade Kyrie. The writing is on the wall for this Cavs team, as the speculation will continue to grow about LeBron’s pending move to Los Angeles next offseason. Surely, the Cavs don’t want to risk losing one of the league’s best offensive players for nothing? There are plenty of suitors out there. It’s just whether or not Cleveland thinks they can make one more run at the title, which would determine the types of players they get in
1 pick and immediately traded him to the Golden State Warriors for Hardaway and three first-round draft picks. The Warriors had chosen Hardaway with the third overall pick in the same draft. (Shawn Bradley went to the Philadelphia 76ers at No. 2.) In an effort to ease Hardaway's adjustment to playing point guard in the NBA, Magic Coach Brian Hill started him at off guard for the first half of his rookie season. Hill eventually moved Hardaway to the point, and the 21-year-old rookie finished with averages of 16.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. He made the NBA All-Rookie First Team and finished six votes behind Webber for the Rookie of the Year Award. In only his second year in the league Hardaway emerged as a top NBA guard. He averaged 20.9 points and 7.2 assists, started in the 1995 NBA All-Star Game, and helped the Magic to the best record (57-25) in the Eastern Co...
Jordan simply dominated the nineties and left the game as an NBA Finals winner in 1998. It was not until the year 2002 that the NBA was able to find someone to match Jordan’s dazzling acrobatic style of play. His name is Lebron James. Lebron, who plays shooting guard and small forward, stands at an athletic six-eight. James, however, never played in the NCAA.
His team is winning, and he’s the main reason why. It’s not that Kyrie hasn’t been great, but he obviously isn’t the main reason why Cleveland is winning, and to be fair, the Cavs have been a little disappointing in their championship defense. Another overlooked player is Paul Millsap. Although Jimmy Butler and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been better statistically speaking, Millsap has been solid and the Hawks have a winning record. Cultural stereotypes have always existed and while they may have been acceptable to society in the past, that does not compel us to accept them in today’s society. One such stereotype which is used is that of Native American names and imagery for sports teams and in particular The Washington Redskins of the National Football league. While for many people, this is an argument that has just recently arisen, in actuality, the debate over the use of native names and images has been an ongoing issue for over 50 years. The subject of the Washington Redskins name has been debated across politics, media, academia, religious backgrounds and in the public square for many years.

Washington Irving was born in New York City in 1783, he always had an appreciation of the land and people from there. Irving was quite opposed to the fact that New York was becoming and would become one of the biggest and most prominent cities in the entire world. Irving seemed to be fonder of the lush foliage and the rolling hills of the city, rather than a crowded city and huge port. Irving conveys his beliefs through Knickerbocker in "A History of New York," in the essay Irving says "Happy would it have been for New Amsterdam could it always have existed in this state of blissful ignorance and lowly simplicity, but alas! the days of childhood are too sweet to last! Cities, like men, grow out of them in time, and are doomed alike to grow into the bustle, the cares, and miseries of the world." (Irving 570). Irving believed that his New York would not be the same if it was given all of the exporting and importing power in the east, which it was and is not the way he wished it was.
Leonard made his mark coming out of college with his on-ball defense. It is what projectile launched him into Gregg Popovich's starting lineup as a rookie. It is the main reason his team won the championship behind his Finals MVP performance. But even with such great defensive prowess, he was able to get even better, as impossible as it sounds. Going on to win two consecutive Defensive Player of the Year Awards, Leonard proved to all that anything that may seem amazing can only be made even more amazing. His defense is not the only mark of drastic and improbable improvement. Kawhi Leonard's three point shooting has taken leaps and bounds. A 37% 3 point shooter for the first 4 years of his career, Leonard skyrocketed to 44% last season, making him amongst the top 5 3 point shooters in the NBA. Couple that with a 51% mark from the field and you've discovered the definition of
But their problem wasn’t only the coach, as the entire NBA organization was there to check out their practices to see if they are following regulations a surprise check up in fact. Then they as well were wondering what was wrong with George and Turner sitting on the bench. Everyone knew something was up, so that's when the 2 turned themselves into coach, George placed himself the mastermind of the whole thing and wouldn’t turn in Miller who did the same thing when he went to practice. Costing Paul and Myles suspension for 30 games, with Miller not suspended at all. Miller was scared, thinking what if someone tells, what will happen to me, will I be suspended for this long, should I turn myself in, what would everyone think of me, what of my career. Waking Miller up for good, he knew he had to not only step up his game in order for his team to win games but to protect himself from getting
