Recommended: Arguments for school uniforms

Many people disagree with the fact of having school uniforms, but we should be wearing school uniforms. The principles report enforcement for a strict dress code and it rises from 47 percent to 57 percent during the decade. One reason we should have school uniforms is because it would save students from bullying . Another reason is school uniforms help save money for the people that don't like to waste it or have little of it. A third reason is the schools will not have problems with the students that wear inappropriate clothes. Bullying needs to stop in order for kids to have high self esteem, and school uniforms can be one of the solutions. School is the the place where bullying occurs because bullys pick on kids depending on the clothes they wear. School uniforms “tend to achieve and create sense of equality and prevent repeated bullies at schools”(Anderson 7). Parents and students should not be wasting money on new clothes, but on future goals. French Toast stated that paychecks from students go “right onto their backs and are not used for saving for the future or some primary goal” (2). Teens now want to be buying new clothes in order to be trendy and fit in with the other students. Most parents waste money on buying clothes for the different weathers instead of using it for households. Gang signs and gang t-shirts cause many problems for students during school. For example students can receive detentions for violating dress codes or for not showing respect within the shirts. Wilde explains how there is 63 percent fewer police reports, graffiti, fights, and gang related activities (9). Taking down gang related clothes can save students from getting detentions.
