Due to people keeping exotic animals as pets, humans and exotic animals are suffering unnecessary injuries and death. Although some people believe that exotic pets are wonderful companions to own, it should be illegal to keep exotic animals as pets because exotic pets pose potential threat to the safety of their owners and the public, are dangerous to human health, and are treated improperly. Some exotic pets live in poor conditions that does not duplicate their habitat, which includes pens that are too small and lack adequate shelter from the elements (“Our Exotic Animal Investigation”). As a result, the owners are not allowing the animals to express behaviors that are normal for their species. The animals can also get ill from lack the lack of shelter from the elements. By failing to meet the specific environmental and behavioral needs of their pets, the owner are treating their exotic pets inappropriately. Similarly, some exotic animals are treated cruelly by their owners. They had their claws and teeth surgically removed in order to make them less dangerous (“Our Exotic Animal Investigation”). Since claws and teeth are part of the exotic animals that have helped their species survive in the wild, it is improper to have them surgically removed. The owners should not own any exotic pets if they thought claws and teeth on exotic animals were dangerous. In 2012, a 38 year old man in Florida was accused of stabbing a pet python 19 times and leaving a knife in the animal as it died (“Exotic Animal Incident Report”). This shows just how cruel some owners can be to their exotic pets. It is morally wrong for the owners of the animals to treat their pets cruelly. By making the exotic animals live in poor conditions that does not duplicate their habitat and treating them cruelly, owners are treating their exotic pets
Throughout the article, Wild Animals Aren’t Pets, you learn that many people have been hurt from exotic pets. According to the text, “In 2009, a 2-year-old Florida girl was strangled by 12-foot-long Burmese python, a family pet that had gotten out of its aquarium.” This shows the danger
However, there are ways to correct the issues with the present system. If all 50 states and other countries around the world were to institute stricter regulations, such as those mentioned above, it would help make owning exotics safer. Animals like lions and puff adders have no place being in anyone’s home, but other animals like ball pythons and leopard geckos are reasonable. The most important thing that the authorities can do to help regulate the exotic pet trade and reduce the potential damage caused by it, is to educate the public. It is essential that people be involved in and aware of decisions that are being made. Especially decisions that concern their safety and that of the world around
Throughout the world, wild cats, reptiles and primates live peacefully in their natural habitats. Despite this, every year more and more of these exotic animals are becoming domestic pets. Keeping exotic animals as pets is unsafe and should therefore be made illegal. They pose as a risk of injury, disease and are an invasion the natural environment. Some people believe that keeping a pet does not pose a risk if properly kept and trained. However, these arguments are not corroborated by the information available. Keeping exotic animals as pets is dangerous, and should be made illegal in Canada.
Do you think that keeping exotic animals as pets should be legal? Well, I think that owning exotic animals as pets should be illegal. First, safety is a main concern for both the animals and for people. Secondly, it cost a very large amount of money to properly care for these animals; money people usually don’t have by themselves. Finally, it is against the law in many places to own these animals. Exotic animals should not be kept as pets.
Exotic animals, such as lions, tigers, and bears might seem like cute and cuddly pets at first, however, little do people know how dangerous and endangered these furry creatures truly are. In this case exotic means coming from foreign countries all over the world. The want for exotic animals in the United States and all across the globe is in very high demand. People are taking them from their natural habitats and putting them in a cage for the rest of their life. It is predicted that the demand will keep going up and animals will become more endangered, if nothing is done about it. Therefore, the ownership of exotic animals should be banned in America because it is dangerous to humans and they are mostly endangered. Although some disagree that they should be able to own any animal for various reasons.
Animals that are brought to the United States and taken to someone’s home are said to have to go through the “exotic pet trade.” These animals are taken from their natural habitat, such as Australia, Brazil, and Africa and are exposed to harsh transport. Some examples of animals that are put in these conditions are parrots. They sometimes have their beaks and legs taped and are stuffed into tubes. Turtles suffer harsh conditions as well. They are trapped with tape inside their shells and shoved into small compartments along with many other turtles. These animals are put in such horrible conditions that many die before arriving at their destinations (“Exotic Animals as Pets”). These animals have to reason to be suffering because if they were left free in their natural habitat as they should be they would not have to
Animal cruelty is the abuse or failure to care for an animal. Before the past couple of years, people did not have to worry about how the animals in zoos were treated. For centuries, families have gone to zoos to be educated on the different species of animals. As years have gone by, zoos have become a trending topic of animal cruelty. While zoos do not physically abuse the animals, they have been known to not properly care for them. “According to the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA), there are over 10,000 zoos worldwide” (Fravel 2). Of these 10,000 zoos, only some of them actually care about their animals. Caring for wild animals is extremely hard because zoos have to recreate the animals’ natural habitat. Zoos believe that they are protecting the animals’, yet; they tend to forget how it affects the animals. In reality, the animals are depressed and bored. These wild animals are being taken out of their natural habitats and are enclosed in small cages and habitats. Wild animals should live in their natural habitats, the wild, not in a zoo for the entertainment of zoo visitors. Therefore, banning zoos will end the horrible cycle of animal cruelty.
It is said that in order to protect the wildlife, we need to be educated about the wildlife that inhabits our planet. As humans, and the superior species on Earth, we put exotic animals, aquatic and terrestrial, in zoos or aquariums where people can go to see them to learn more about them in order to protect them. It just so happens that by putting these animals into captivity, we are causing more damage to them, just as damage is occurring in the wild and more species are becoming extinct. Animals should not be held in captivity; it does not save them from going extinct, but helps kill them off.
Is it a dream or is it reality? Dreams are an interesting creation of our subconscious, representing the desires, thoughts and motivations of our subconscious. The relationship between dreams and movies has always been a thought-provoking one, where both share an idea that tends to feed into our future thought process. Appreciated by both critics and the public, Inception is a movie that challenges the whole concept of consciousness, portraying science fiction in a positive and stark manner in its process. This inspirational Christopher Nolan directed motion picture redefines science fiction with its complex theme and lack of advanced hypothetical technologies, but doesn’t fall short to take the public on an exceptional and thrilling adventure with its contributing special effects and remarkable portrayal of character.

Muskingum County Animal Farm was an sobering example of why zoos and reserves pursue corporation partnerships such as Coca-Cola, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo & Co Zoos sponsor nature reserves and zoos. For centuries, animals have been used by us people like they are some of our worst enemies. We have tortured, slaughtered, skinned, burned, experimented on, and even used them as pets. These animals who have the right to live like any other free creatures must be saved from the torment of humanity. Our human species have been nothing but cruel and dishonest toward the use of these poor animals. Cruel because of our poor ways of slaughtering the animals and dishonest due to the fake reports we provide to the public of their use.
Taken from the only place you've ever known. Away from the only family you have. Kept in crates and cages to be sold. Removed from their home, exotic animals are put in yours for personal amusement. This act is ruinous an inhumane, it violates the basic rights of human and animals. Exotic animals have a rightful place in their natural habitats, not as pets, because they endanger the community, become sick, and their owners abandon them.
In what way is that right? It’s just like kidnapping, we put humans in jail for that, but only when it’s another human. People act like just because they aren’t human that its ok and they lie to themselves telling themselves that its okay and that the animal will be taken care of, fed, and have a nice little “fake” forest or desert to live in. Just think of it as having a zoo full of humans, or stealing other humans to make profit or teach someone something new by doing something totally wrong and unethical.
When referring to exotic pets, the term exotic has become personalized depending on the individual’s locale and exposure to various species. While the general consensus considers only cats and dogs under the umbrella of domesticated pets, there may be individuals exposed to greater diversity who would also include reptiles and large cats. Due to lack of knowledge of these uncommon animals in regards to health and safety hazards, legislation is put in place to regulate the trade and ownership of exotic species. A species is considered exotic if it has not gone through the entire domestication process, which would also require selective breeding of a minimum of thirty generations. Exotic species such as reptiles would have maintained the skills
