Do you think that kids should get paid for doing chores? I think they should. I think that they should because kids are going to need money and I think that they should have to earn it. But, some people may think different. They might think that way because some people think that kids should help out without getting a reward. But, giving them something to earn would most likely make them work harder.
I think that kids should get paid for doing their chores. I think this because kids are going to need money for the stuff that they need or want and making them earn it is a good way to learn responsibility. For example, if your kid wanted to go to the mall, they would do chores to earn the money. So, they help out, get what they want, and
After reading, The Case Against Chores, by Jane Smiley, I must say that I disagree with her perception of chores. Ms. Smiley states that the reason for chores is for “developing good work habits or, in the absence of good work habits, at least habits of working” (Smiley, 2009, p. 274). However, chores teach us things such as responsibility and how to go above and beyond what might be asked of us. As a child I did a lot of chores and had to grow up a little faster than some children, but I would not change that for the world. It molded me into the adult that I am today. Therefore, chores, to a certain extent, are a great way to start you on the path in preparing you for adulthood.
In conclusion, I think student-athletes should get paid for racking up revenue for their universities, the amount of time they spend in their sports, and by paying student-athletes, it may increase their motivation to reach academic success and steer them clear from unsolicited activities. The efforts of student-athletes must be acknowledged because they have given their best effort and countless hours of their time to represent their universities in the best way possible.
The use of incentives are debatable whether or not they should be used or not, however it is proven that in some cases it does work. With teenagers if a teacher says that we will get a grade boost by donating money, or time it it PROVEN (word choice) that we will feel more obligated to participate knowing that it will in some way benefit us. As much as we are being selfish and only thinking about how the outcome will benefit us, we still are committing a good deed. And should’t it just be about what the outcome is rather what gets you to the outcome. In the long run, you still end up helping and being kind even though you are doing it only because of the incentive. An incentive is defined as a th...
On the issue of college athletes getting paid, I believe they should. When I mean getting paid I only mean a stipend or weekly check, not thousands or millions. All the hard work and dedication they put into their sport and academics are worthy enough. I have had a chance to play collegiate sports and it takes a lot out of you mentally and physically. The student athletes deserve at least enough money to have a normal student life. $300-$400 a month should give athletes enough money to get the required necessities. All this does is replace the notion of the athlete getting a job for a source of income. This will also help reduce the rate at which athletes accept money, cars, and gifts from boosters. When athletes get caught accepting something from a booster it looks bad on the athlete and the college. So, in my opinion yes college athletes should get paid, there is too much money that the universities have earned floating around going unanswered for the athletes not to get their cut.
There has always been a lot of debate on whether or not college athletes should get paid. With as much money as college sports makes from these student athletes, should these student athletes be getting paid? There are many different stances on why I feel like these student athletes should be getting paid. I will talk about some of the reasons on why they should get paid. Being a student athlete is a very stressful thing in life at that age as they are attending school full time and working extremely hard at being the best athlete they can on the field.
Can you imagine having a job for nine months out of the year that makes you work from 8:15 AM until 3:30 PM on every weekday and not getting paid for all of your hard, tedious work? To most of you that sounds ridiculous. That’s because it is. Students have to go through this painful process from September to May and usually don’t have anything to show for it. They dedicate their whole lives to getting all A’s on their report card and when they finally do all they usually get is a pat on the back. Thus, students should get paid for having good grades because it takes lots of hard work to get those grades, it would cause more students to strive for good grades, and it would eliminate the need for a job, which would allow for more studying time.
Would you pay your child for getting good grades?, or would you like to get paid for your good grades? Parents have payed their children for their proficiency several times, and people are starting to realize what a magnificent idea this is. People believe that this can make kids try harder and it can help them gain more knowledge. Others think this could be an unsuitable theory because it makes kids only want to learn for the money. In my opinion, paying kids for good grades is an excellent suggestion.
Should or should not student athletes be paid to play for their college? I in all honesty believe that you should not. It would be setting them out in a completely different way than they are meant to. Now I will justify why a student athlete should not be paid to play at a college level.
College athletes should be paid because the more they get paid means the more athletes that will be drafted to the NFL or what ever sport college athletes are playing. College athletes should get paid for what they are doing because schools get their money because of athletes playing in sports. If athletes get paid, they will be able to pay for their own clothes, shoes, jewelry, haircuts, car, and car insurance every month. Athletes will then know what their parents were going through when they had to pay for everything you wanted. This will teach athletes what to be prepared for in the future or when the kids go off to college playing sports and things. Another reason why they should get paid, because athletes have been waiting on that moment when they get to college to see what they can do and the hard work their high school coaches had trained them for. Then, athletes should be paid because college’s gets fans from the way they that there college. Another reason why they should be paid is because coaches make money for coaching the team and they had to do the same thing their athletes had to do in
Overall, I believe that student-athletes in colleges are being given enough as it is, without being paid extra for playing their sports. Their tuition is often already paid, as is their room and board, it it would be unfair to the other students to pay them for something that isn’t even a job. These are only a few reasons why I believe that college students should not be paid- and why you should agree with
Recent studies have shown that rewarding children simply for participating can make them narcissistic and unmotivated. It can also have biological impacts. “If you constantly reward a kid, you spoil them, and you don’t build a capacity for them to be resilient to frustration,” says C. Robert Cloninger, a doctor at Washington University. Parents may also be part of the problem. They may be giving their children a large self- worth without even noticing it (Website #2).
what is the importance of the Punic wars? what is the punic wars you may ask . The Punic Wars were a series of three wars fought between Rome and Carthage from 264 BC to 146 BC. At the time, they were some of the largest wars that had ever taken place. First Punic War, also called First Carthaginian War first of three wars between the Roman Republic and the Carthaginian empire that resulted in the destruction of Carthage. The First Punic War was fought to gain complete control over the strategic islands of Corsica along with Sicily. The Second Punic War was fought between Carthage and Rome between 218 and 201 BCE. While the First Punic War had been fought largely over control of Sicily, the Second Punic war seen many confrontations in Spain,
there? Well, that wouldn’t happen anymore if you got your own allowance. I believe that children should receive a weekly allowance for completing his or her list of chores, doing extra to help around the house, and good behavior. In my opinion, children should receive an allowance for doing chores for the purpose of building financial literacy, encouraging independent thinking, and reinforcing good habits.
School can be frustrating for students. Going to school, doing homework, and then repeating it all over again the next day can become quite tedious. Especially when one feels as if they are not gaining anything from doing well in school, it causes students to have very little motivation to complete their schoolwork. Students might be motivated if there was some sort of incentive for attending school and doing well at it. A law should be passed that requires students to be paid for doing well in school because it gives them motivation, helps them with financial issues, and allows them to learn how to manage money more effectively.
When children reach a certain age, they like to have their own spending money. While they sometimes receive money for birthdays and other holidays, some parents pay their children for doing work around the home. While this benefits the child in an effort to have their own money, there are many pros and cons of giving kids an allowance for chores. Some people believe paying children to help out around the house is redundant. While most children are assigned certain chores daily, weekly, even monthly, these chores should be done whether a child gets paid an allowance or not.
