Nowadays juveniles are sent to jail with life sentences without parole for committing serious crimes. Some people wonder why it's even allowed?
They say that they are only children and that their brains aren't fully developed. Well, the juveniles abandon their right of being a child when they take another person's life away. They decide to play the leader and chooses who gets to live or not. I think that is no type of innocents nor respect. No matter how old you are whether your 13 or 50, you don't have any type of right to kill someone. I believe that if they do it for self-defense purposes then that's alright. People might be in a situation where that's the only way to get out of it. Do I believe that the teens should be sent to jail with life sentences for committing such dangerous crimes? I believe that the teen brain is not causing the way the teen is acting the teen should know from right and wrong. I also believe that teens should be sent to jail with life sentences because teens are so close to becoming adults and if they want to act like an adult then they should be treated like one.
“ There are no words to adequate to describe what kind of traumatic loss does to a victim's family”(Jenkins,8). A crime is a crime and no matter who commits it the victim's family still suffers. Many teens have personal problems but that doesn't mean they have to commit a crime to feel better. Maybe, they should just search for help.
