Should Judaism Benefit Jerusalem?

Approximately 4,000 years ago Abraham, a prophet was born, and along with this came the monotheistic religion of Judaism. Several hundred years later, Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem and with his birth came the religion of Christianity. Then in 610 AD, Islam developed into a monotheistic religion. All three religions share religious relations with Jerusalem, all arising from the Jewish Torah, but the question is, who deserves “ownership”? Through reading and learning about the three religions, Judaism has the strongest claim on Jerusalem. Jerusalem should belong to Judaism and Jews because this religion has existed the longest, Jerusalem is currently located in the Jewish state of Israel, and most of Judaism’s history lies in Jerusalem,

The Jews need Jerusalem, all the sacred buildings of the Jewish religion are located in Jerusalem. The Western Wall, the most holy place in the world for Jews is located in this city. This wall is so significant to the Jewish community that Jews from all over the world come to Jerusalem just to be worship the wall. The Western Wall is the place where Jews feel closest to God and because of this, the wall is the most sacred building to Judaism. The Temple Mount, a sacred building to Judaism, is no longer accessible to the Jews, because the Muslim’s mosque sits on top of it. Even though this was the mount of the original temple for the Jewish people, they are now forbidden to go on it. Under this mosque, the rock that Abraham was to make the sacrifice of his son on sits. This is one of the most important events in all three religions, yet the Muslims forbid any other religion to view it. A religion that was created over a thousand years after Judaism should not have the right to own Jerusalem and have covered up one of the most sacred buildings to the Jews. Christians and Muslims have planted their roots else where, Christians in Bethlehem and Muslims in Mecca, they do not need Jerusalem as much as Judaism because they have other places of worship. Jews need Jerusalem to be able to easily access their places of worship and they should not have to fight with other religions that have other cities to fulfil their religious
