Imagine a situation in which a high school student must pass an exam with an excellent grade in order to acquire a scholarship. The student must have a scholarship in order to afford enrolling in college. A college degree is necessary to have a career in a lucrative job field. A career in a lucrative job field must be maintained in order to own a big house with a flat-screen TV and a deck overlooking a pond on a small acreage. Plus, raising four kids, and retiring at sixty-five are part of the deal. The problem is, the student believes forgetting important information is a high probability. So what does this high-schooler with dreams of grandeur do to ensure that these aspirations are fulfilled? Sadly, many students in this position resort to cheating. Because college is so expensive to get into, students often have to rely on scholarships. Some ways to earn scholarships are being in athletics, involved within the school, involved within the community, good grades, and a certain GPA. There are many more ways to obtain a scholarship but those are the ones most likely to get someone into a good college. However, if a person isn’t involved, has good grades, or has a good GPA, then they wouldn’t be able to receive a scholarship. A lot of kids are expected by their parents to have good grades so that they can earn scholarships to get into college. That’s a lot of pressure on a kid. A lot of students then resort to cheating so that they can for sure get that A. The students know if they end up doing poorly they could ruin their chances of getting into college. Their parents would then be disappointed, and honestly, who wants to disappoint their parents? Not a lot of people do.
