When our founding fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, they had no preconception of the internet and the vast amount of people that can be reached with the push of a button. The Bill of Rights need to be updated to this century whereas some things are still relevant, others need to be revised or deleted. There is no language in the Constitution to rule the internet. The internet was not even visualized during those times.

The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government. Does it really cover the usage of the internet? No because the First Amendment to the Internet is like the Caveman inventing the wheel to a Rolls Royce. This language on the internet is so far advanced that many of our legislators still have not mastered the simplest of task that you can complete by using the internet.
