Too Much Cha Ching “Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has the more one wants.” Athletes and entertainers make more money than they should. They get overpaid for effortless work, football players get extra even if they win or lose, actress have too much negativity and get paid. To begin with, athletes and entertainers get paid extremely too much. Money that athletes and entertainers get can be given to someone else that is actually helping the economy. People who really deserve the money does not get it. However, athletes does not do enough to make the money they make. Of course they work hard, everyone works hard to get their job done. What about police officers? They risk their lives to save people in this world today. Their jobs are more important than running up and down a court or field. As a matter of fact, lets share our wealth with the most important people that care about us. …show more content…
Teams should not get anything if they lose besides a “better luck next time.” Some players use their talent just because of the money in the outcome. Nevertheless, players actually love what they do. Majority of the players are very whack and should not get a dime. For instance, Tony Romo throw to many interceptions in a game. Plenty of players stand on the sideline and does not do anything but still get
Players do not deserve the money they receive. There are people who do much more than the players do. Why do teachers not get paid millions of dollars to teach kids? Some of those kids end up going on to become professional athletes. Police officers and firemen risk their lives to keep people safe and most of them do not even make any more than 95 thousand dollars a year (Megerian). These athletes get fined more money than that and hand it over like someone just asked them for one dollar. Players have all of this money and do not even do anything worth earning it. Why do they get this money? It is because fans value athletes more than the important things in life like education and family.
...it off of their likeness. No we should not be paid millions of dollars, or even hundreds of thousands, but I do believe that student-athletes should receive a small amount of money .It is only fair to the student-athletes because they are the ones out there putting in work on the field, weight room, film room, and traveling half the time to represent the university on top of trying to maintain a grade point average. I feel that it does not only deserve, but I also believe that getting a stipend would help student-athletes learn to manage their money. There is a reason so many athletes that make it to the professional level end up broke. It’s not fair to the players that they cannot make a profit off of their god given talents and their likeness. In a certain aspect college athletics is sort of like slavery, the university controls almost every aspect of your life.
In today’s society, one of the big controversies with sports is, should student athletes be be paid a salary? Some people believe that they should be paid and others would completely disagree. Even though they technically are being paid, they really are not. The only type of way the athletes would be paid is through financial aid or if they have a job. Only their education is being paid by the school. Although some people believe that they should be paid, it would not be a good idea at all. So college athletes should not be paid at all because they are basically being paid to study and play a sport.
Some people have different opinions on if college football players should get paid or if they shouldn’t. My opinion is they should. I think they put a lot more effort and heart into playing than NFL players do that get paid. NFL players do it for the money. College players don’t play for money, they play to try and make it to the pros.
Should professional athletes earn millions of dollars for playing a game? Athletes should not be making millions and millions of dollars while more important jobs earn significantly less. There are doctors who save lives daily and they do not even make a tenth of what some athletes make. It is crazy to believe that someone is really worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and all they have to do is play a sport; a sport that millions of people would play for free if given the chance.
Do you think professional athletes are overpaid? You might think they earn more than what they are worth for playing half a year, but athletes have many things which contribute to their salary. Some of these things include their earnings from endorsements, ticket sales, performance, merchandise, their social contributions, and TV ratings. Although there are many factors that contribute to their salary, professional athletes may be overpaid because as a society, we contribute to their success. So, in the end, part of the athlete’s salary comes from the people who support the sports in the first place. These are just some of the reasons why athletes are paid so much money.
It is the education they get that matters. Just because they aren’t receiving money for what they do doesn’t mean they are aren’t being paid. Millions of dollars are spent updating the areas they play and train in. The reality is athletes are working full-time jobs for an average wage. While the institutions they are attending are getting rich, they are missing out on their pay day.
College sports can be as competitive and demanding as any professional sport. Students are required to contribute deeply into their sports. Which means a high demand of money, effort, and time is necessary. Unlike professional athletes, college sportsmen are not compensated economically. In other words, it is not fair because college attendants are competing at a professional level and are not allowed a salary. Therefore, our future pro athletes deserve a monthly compensation in order to keep them focused in their particular sport.
In closing, these athletes are making too much money in a society that traditionally bases salaries on the value of ones work. These athletes do not know what real work is or how hard it is to make a dollar. Although their job is difficult, they do not play a role in our economy like their salaries indicate. Therefore, they should receive less money.
How about we take a gander at the amount of footballers get paid contrasted with different employments. Top footballers like Wayne Rooney and David Beckham can be paid up to an incredible 1048 times more than a normal blaze warrior (who is paid £25,000 every year). Lionel Messi, the world's most elevated paid footballer, is paid in excess of 193 times more cash consistently than David Cameron, who deals with the entire of the UK! I cherish a bit of football, yet by doing this, we are stating that we esteem these sportspeople more than other individuals that we just couldn't manage without. Messi gets paid a mammoth £27.5 million a year, and the UK's top paid footballing star, Rooney, gets paid 70p consistently!
In addition, athletes should not get paid as much as they do right now because most of the time athletes blow their money immediately, and are left with nothing. Athletes
As entertainers, athletes are paid for fan satisfaction. The more fans that want to see an athlete perform, the more the athlete is paid. In fact, most athletes, even those who make millions of dollars for each flubbed fly ball, dropped pass, and missed free throw, feel they probably deserve even higher salaries; the reason being that they’re still in demand. While certain athletes may never bring a championship ring to their team, or even bring home a winning season, those athletes will always pack the stands. Fans in the stands translate into ticket sales. Ticket sales can potentially lead to national television broadcasts. Inevitably, the formula of ticket sales plus national television broadcasts leads to massive revenue, and this is how owners and organizations can afford to pay players like Michael Jordan $25 Million for his retiring season alone. However, how does society (as a whole) benefit from these over-inflated salaries? In short, it doesn’t.
Many players have risen to stardom by becoming a professional athlete. Athletes have come from many different backgrounds; some from wealthy and some from poverty raised backgrounds. Salaries are continuing to rise, and money doesn’t seem to be an issue. Athletes are getting what they want from the owners by negotiating through their agents. Athletes’ salaries aren’t from their owners, but they come from other sources (“Athletes’ Salary”). Athletes get paid an extremely high salary for the work they do, and should consider the value of their work. They do not deserve the extreme amount they get paid and something should by done about it.
Main source of income Football Football is one of the world’s most popular sport. Many professional football players earn millions each year. They are paid by club teams and franchises in associations such as Europe’s La Liga and Major League Soccer in the United States. Many of the world’s top soccer players play for European teams, such as the Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Firstly, I think that entertainers’ athletes are paid so much because they deserve it. An actor isn’t going just wake up one day and say, “I think I’m going to be an A-list act...
