Should Curfew Be Allowed In High School

Should kids under the age of seventeen have a curfew law of 9 pm? No, because there are many activities or things that teens do which they are not responsible for being out past 9 pm. There are many school related activities that students attend that can go to as late as 10 pm. Yes, most teens stay out and try to be trouble starters, yet a 9 pm curfew is not going to help it's shown that the average teen crime rate has gone up in a few states that have already passed this law. Plus, most teenagers also have jobs and what are they supposed to do if they don't get off work until 10 pm or 11 pm we should have to choose between getting fired because people can't ever work late or take a fine for the curfew. For example, most school athletics like football most games don't end until 10pm and most of the players drive themselves as in the seniors. It wouldn't be fair for them to be driving home after a hard game and then get pulled over and get a ticket because of the curfew law. Hundreds of students go to these games, and most of the students drive themselves so by the end of the game they have to try and rush home so they don't end up with a ticket. Football games are the most popular school sporting events, as well as basketball and both, don't end till almost 10 pm and the two most popular things hundreds of students at a time. Even after the games the players usually are there almost an hour after the game talking to coaches about the game and team meetings so most players don't leave until 11 pm and after fighting for their school they probably don't want a ticket it's not there fault three out this late. Students and players can try and speed home after games, but that would be way more dangerous they're not only putting their life in harm's way, but all others as well because there is a curfew of 9

But if they pass the law of the teenage curfew being 9 pm most teens will probably be very upset because most teens usually hang out at night. For instance, a couple of teenage friends go and hang out and go to the movies and there is this one movie that they really want to see. So they go and see the movie, but they find out the movie is an hour and 30 minutes and it's already 8:30 pm so now they probably can't see the movie because by the time the movie ends it will be well past curfew. Now if the state curfew was 11 pm the teens would probably have enough time to see the movie they wanted and have enough time to get home before the curfew. Especially if any of the teens have jobs, they wouldn't have time at all to do what they want. Most teens work until 10 pm or even later so how is that there fault that they didn't get off until that late and they are already past curfew. Most bosses are probably not gonna care about the curfew law so teens won't probably have a job because they can't close the shop if no one else is there or barely work at all. They probably can't work a morning shift because they have school in the morning so most likely they would need to work when they get out of school till whenever their job closes how is that fair to all those teens in the state jobless just because people want to put an earlier
