Recommended: Short term and long term effects of child soldiers

The question that needs to be answered is “should child soldiers be given amnesty?” A certain estimate of child soldiers being used around the world is more than 200,000 majority of them being 4-8 (Gettleman, 2010. pg.1). These children are used in the front lines during a fight, they carry around weapons that they don’t directly know how to handle. Thus, child soldiers should be given amnesty for they were forced to join the war, they always get prosecuted at the illegal age, and they need to be rehabilitated.  
    Many child soldiers are taken away from their families, majority of them being taken away after school or just stolen from their own homes (O’neill, 2007. pg.1). Kids tend to not fight back because they don’t want to risk their
