The cell phone is used differently by different sections of the society. There are those who use it just for the purpose of taking calls and texts. These are people who do not want much with their cell phones and just use it for the basic purpose. Then there is the other section which uses the cell phone for the purpose of using it to learn and experience new things. Although cell phones have its pros most teachers only focus on the cons, so ban cell phone use in school specifically their classroom because of the possible things the could occur. I believe that many students could benefit from the cell usage in schools. Cheating with cell phones has become huge problems with schools, so they ban it not knowing that having cell phones could open up new opportunities for students to learn. Students can use their cell phones to collaborate with each other and they would also be able to contact their family members in the event of an emergency. Ever since I have been in high school, increasing amounts of people have acquired cell phones. They are causing more disturbances in school because of the cellular devices. Students are using them to harass other individuals. There should be a phone provided for students to make important calls. And lastly, cell phones have even opened new doors for cheaters. There’s really no good reason for a student to use their cell phone during school hours.
There is no real "problem" with cell-phones in themselves. Students just need to learn, and remember, that there is a time and a place for everything. A cell-phone should generally not be used in class, unless perhaps somebody is standing at the front of the room with a gun, or if there was some other calamity, such as: kids making bomb threats and what not - for these reasons I find it completely reasonable for a child to be permitted to be equipped with a powered "ON" cellular device. I don't know about you, but if I have kids one day who are potentially in danger, I would want to be aware of this at once.
In conclusion, using cell phones at school is a good thing and should be allowed at school. The reason is cell phones should be allowed because it is a good way to communicate with friends and parents in case of plans to do after school or change of plans if something comes up. Most of all is in case of an emergency that has happened at school or at home and the parent need to contact the students to tell them if they are safe and tell them or hear what had happened. This are why I think it should be
One reason that cell phones should be banned from classrooms is because students who use them fall into a daze of distracted learning. Classes are taught by teachers, whose goal is to give the student an educational experience, learning things they will need to apply to their later life. However, students on their cellphones are distracted from their learning and never use the lessons taught. Over 2,000 cellphone disturbances were reported in New York City in the past school year (Backstory). This means that over 2,000 people had issues with cellphones interrupting classroom discussi...
Cell phones could be a life-saver in the case of an emergency. In New York, a violent incident has taken place. Fortunately, timely communication from a student using a cell phone saved a man who desperately needed medical attention ("Cell Phones in the Classroom”). Another student has assisted the police to arrest the suspect by giving timely updates of the criminal scene using a cell phone in the school lockdown. In fact, many school districts have decided to lift the ban on the use of cell phones in school because of “the role cell phones have played in some emergency situations” ("Cell Phones in the Classroom” ). Moreover, parents could be easily in touch with their children, know their whereabouts through mobile communication, and therefore it would allay parents’ concerns (Cohen). For instance, lots of parents have claimed that they have to stay in touch with their children ...

Ever since incidents such as 9/11 and Columbine, high schools have started implementing new rules regarding cellphones. Cellphones attract the attention of building managers, teachers, parents, and students. Although teachers see them as a distraction and a way to cheat, they can be quite helpful to students. School districts should permit students to use cellular devices in school for purposes of improving their education and providing themselves with a sense of security. By permitting the use of cellphones in school, students can increase their knowledge and complete school work by using applications and other features on their smartphones.
With so many school shootings and terrorist attacks happening, cell phones are a necessity to help you feel safe (Higgins). With a cell phone handy, if something were to happen there would be ways for you to call 911 and get help. In Higgins article, Dan Domenech says, “This trend first emerged after the 9/11 terrorist attack.” Many people like to have a way of communication and a type of security to make them feel safe. In Higgins article, Dan Domenech continues, “The issue of security and red alerts on terrorism threats became an issue and school systems began to relax the prohibition on cell phones in school.” School shootings do not happen very often, but if and when they do students can be prepared to have the opportunity to call for help and explain what
Cell phones should not be allowed in school because children focus more on the phone than schoolwork, it creates more drama, and it promotes cheating. Cell phones should not be allowed in schools because kids are always wondering what their friends are doing and what is happening outside of school. If they have access to their phones all day, then they will be glued to them. Phones are more entertaining than a teacher lecturing at the front of the class. Most students will start to zone out, or fall asleep, when a teacher starts a lesson.

Cell phones have only been in the picture for a short amount of time compared to how long people have been going to school but cell phones are everywhere now and make it difficult for schools to come up with what to do. As many believe they are a distraction and can be used for cheating and other negative stuff. There are also people that are highly in favor of having cellphones as they can be helpful with all the tools they provide and people who are not and it 's all about who makes a better argument. Cell phones used to just have communication abilities but that is far gone now you have the abilities to use apps and different functions that fit nicely into a school environment. Cell phones should be allowed in the classroom as cell phones provide positive benefits and are a helpful tool in learning.
Now schools are starting to let students use there phones in there class now that they are so popular. Educators think that if student can use there phone in class the student can learn more in there class instead of letting them on a school laptop. The part of society that is against the use of cell phones in school do it because of the interference that a cell phone can cause. Nevertheless we must accept that we live in a world full of technology. We miss out if we do not take the upper hand of the educational power of the cell phone. Overall, cell phones supply us with learning resources and encourage suitable use of technology. Therefore the schools should not ban cell the use of cell phones on school grounds.
