For a long time I have been trying to create short and long term goals for both my education and career. The problem when coming up with goals is it always seems like a straight road or path to get there. As I have journeyed down this road I have encountered many forks I did not plan on originally. Whether it be finding the love of my life and getting married or having children earlier than expected, or the multiple deployments I have been on where continuing to take classes is impossible. My path has changed many times over the years, but my overall goals remain the same, complete a bachelor degree, become an officer in the military, complete a master degree, retire, and work for myself in some capacity. Originally I knew that I could not …show more content…
My short term goal is to complete my bachelor degree. Once complete I will apply for Officer Candidate School to earn a commission. Becoming a commissioned officer will set me up with a better military retirement and more opportunities to pressure self-employment once I have finished my military career. The tools I have learned in this course will help me throughout my military career whether it be having to research something or just being more familiar with modern technology. Since the military has become extremely reliant on the internet for communications knowing how to properly word email, or write a memorandum. Also with the advancing technology of mobile devices for land navigation and communication between ground …show more content…
My goal for when I retire is to make at least 100k a year. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for real estate brokers was $56,790 in May 2016 with projected 6% growth over the next 10 years. This would put the median wage for real estate brokers just over 60k a year in 2026. I will retire in 2029. If the trend continues the average median wage when I retire for a real estate broker would be just over 62k a year. If I do get commissioned and retire as a major my retirement pay would be around 50k a year. Putting my total income approximately 112k a year. This would meet my goal with some buffer
One of the things I learned about being a Real Estate Agent is how money you would make. So normally when you begin in a Real Estate office you get 3% to 6% commission.
So it really has to see how well you do your job and dedication and interest that you put, many people started from below and now are professionals working with famous people. “The U.S. department of labor reports that cosmetologists working full time had an annual median income of $ 23, 660 (including tips) in May 2015” (Cosmetologists). Real estate agents are generally independent sales employees who provide their services to licensed brokers on a contract basis. In return, the broker pays the agent a portion of the commission earned from property sold through the firm, by the agents. They are familiar with local zoning and tax laws, and know where to obtain financing. A good real estate agent is informed about things like schools, tax rates, public transportation
Real estate agents have one of the largest gender-based wage gaps in today’s economy. There is not one particular economic approach that explains this gap, but a combination of the human capital and statistical discrimination models may account for much of the gap between the wages of male and female real estate agents.

For example, with this job, I can make enough money to support myself in the future. In fact, the starting salary for graphic designers is around a mid-range salary; it is about forty-five thousand dollars per year. This will provide me enough money to obtain everything I need to survive on my own. I will make enough to pay rent or a mortgage, buy food, buy clothes, and provide myself with all necessary utilities in order to live comfortably. This salary can also increase with promotions; therefore, the higher the promotion I receive, the higher my salary will be. My salary can range anywhere from forty-five thousand to eighty thousand dollars per year, depending on location and title. Although this is the median salary for graphic designers, there is always opportunity to make more per
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
Real Estate Agent Taking up a real estate agent to be a profession is an exceptional choice, which holds a variety of reimbursement. But first a little information about a real estate agent is inevitable. The job description of a real estate agent is quiet simple; they buy, sell and rent properties for and to different clients. A real estate agent needs to know what the house market is in the communities that they are working in. Now coming back to our main topic, the benefits of being a real estate agent are diverse; the income potential is unlimited, (depending on the size of the premise). The tricky part of being a real estate agent is that you work on a commission; if you are not selling property then obviously you are not making money! The average salary for a real estate agent is 29,538 dollars; in Denver the average salary is 30,500 dollars. When a real estate agent is not out of the office showing properties to his/her clients he is sitting in his office either browsing on the net for the market values of the properties or he has new hires who are responsible for gathering ...
When looking at how to become a real estate developer one also has to notice the outcomes. Among them being, (1) you are creating a beautiful home for someone who will be living in your design, long after you are gone, (2) the work is pleasurable, the ambition that one feels when starting a new development, and (3) the congratulations that comes after you have completed a project, the satisfactory of it all. There is really nothing that anyone can teach a person in becoming a real estate developer for it all comes from one's inner self that is beyond the scope of normal intelligence. Its not that it is difficult to become a real estate developer, its just very different from the normal. A famous quote used by real estate developer Colin Dillon, is "Spending money is easy anyone can do it. Getting back plus a bit more for profit; that's a bit more difficult." This phrase is very true for anyone can get a job and make money, 4but very few know how to take that money and make it into something more.
The issue with realtors While realtors are in the industry of promoting qualities, it's not uncommon to allow them to play up their qualifications in the end, it's a dog eat dog world and there's no dearth of real estate agents on the market. Although this is acceptable, some people turn to lying coldly regarding their achievements and frequently their clients finish up having to pay for his or her tall
...s estimated to be at $39,180 annually. The highest paid ten percent of interior designers, experts, in 2002 had wages of $69,640, while the lowest paid ten percent, beginners, were paid $21,240 (U.S. Department of Labor). Those who are genuinely committed to a fulltime career in designing know that urban areas and big cities pay better and provide more career options. In small town areas there is less demand for the input of an interior designer. Self-employed designers work for clients at a set, hourly fee, but majority of designers work in a firm for either a straight salary or an hourly fee to clients. In interior design, because there is so much flex given to each designer in a firm, there really are no requirements of benefits, insurance, or retirement plans. The established benefits are completely up to the individual employer. (Careers in Focus: Design)

Real estate. What do you guys think when you hear that word? The first thing that comes to my mind when I do is just a lot of headache. But why do I see so many people getting in to real estate? I know it can be very rewarding when you are good at it.
A good work ethic can bring sizable rewards. Your success comes down to how well you market your brand and the business skills you have developed. The Real Estate Market Never Goes Away While real estate is like any other industry in that it undergoes ebbs and flows, it never goes away. Sales may fall but sales rarely ever stop completely.
Gathering information about what it takes to become a real estate and just what it is that a real estate agent actually does required me to do a significant amount of research. The first action that I took was to sit down with my grandfather, who happens to be a real estate agent. I asked him what I should look in to in order to gain a better understanding of his profession. After interviewing him, we went to the offices of Atova Real Estate where I observed the daily activities of the real estate agents who work in the office. Later, we went to the offices of Pioneer Title, Guild Mortgage, and the Idaho Intermountain Multiple Listing Services. We di...
