He’s going after young girls, killing them and then baking them into bread.” Kale said. They went after another one. A boy, about 18. His name was Danny Mahealani. He was found in bread also. They found what’s left of his body in a dumpster outside of the town’s power plant. They found Allison’s outside of the sewage plant. But they haven’t found Cora’s. There is no fingerprints on any of the bodies or bread. No hair traces. Nothing. It’s like they don't exist. But we think the next body will be found at the water plant. Maybe that’s where Cora’s body is. Just maybe. Kale went to get coffee down the street at Cafe 215. He took an alley way as a shortcut instead of going through town. It was almost sundown, so he was going to the water plant after. But then his plans changed. There was these guys in full armor and gas masks, like they couldn’t breathe the air. They held him down to the ground, injected this green goo into his neck, then hit him over the head with a
One of the first and most vital sources utilized was Not By Bread Alone by Barbara Engel. This article comes from Barbara Alpern Engel who is a historian who has wrote several books on Russian women and specifically Russian women during the early 1900s. The book appears in the larger journal The Journal of Modern History. The purpose of this article is to expound on the subsistence riots in WWI era Russia and the ones that lead to the Russian Revolution. A value of this source is her specialization, it seems, in Russian history from 1700 onwards. She has wrote several other books on Russian history and thus she has a greater knowledge than most on the subject. A limitation of this article maybe since she
A hit was put out on Taylor and Zavala by leaders of the Mexican drug cartel because they were becoming a nuisance. This hit was carried out by the same Latino gang members who had previously done a drive-by shooting of a rival gang. The officers were enticed towards their imminent deaths with a car chase which was set up by the Latino gang members. This chase led them towards an apartment complex which was rigged with many gang members and artillery to ensure that neither Taylor nor Zavala would survive. The two were ambushed but decided that gunning their way out was their best option. When the officers made it to an alley they were met by another Latino gang member who fired at Taylor and Zavala, hitting Taylor once in the chest before being shot and killed by Zavala. Zavala went to aid Taylor who appeared to be quickly dying and called out for help. Before police back up arrived the original Latino gang members found Zavala in the...
Anzia Yezierska’s 1925 novel Bread Givers ends with Sara Smolinsky’s realization that her father’s tyrannical behavior is the product of generations of tradition from which he is unable to escape. Despite her desire to embrace the New World she has just won her place in, she attempts to reconcile with her father and her Jewish heritage. The novel is about the tension inherent in trying to fit Old and New worlds together: Reb tries to make his Old World fit into the new, while Sara tries to make her New World fit into the Old. Sara does not want to end up bitter and miserable like her sisters, but she does not want to throw her family away all together. Her struggle is one of trying to convince her patriarchal family to accept her as an independent woman, while assimilating into America without not losing too much of her past.

Overview of the episode: Kale Stephens episode starts with the phone ringing and Lori answering her husband comes off as abrasive, and short as he asks who was she talking to on the phone. Lori seems suspicious of the call. In contrast to Glaspell's original work, the storyline opened with the Hossack family finding Mr. Hossack bludgeoned to death as he slept beside his wife who did not hear a thing. Kale used the friendship of two women, and the visible verbal abuse of one woman’s husband and suspected abuse of the other. In Glaspell's version, Mrs. Hossack was shown as the murderer. There were more detail and emotion in Glaspell. Both used women as the murderer.
