Shipoopi: Family Guy

Shipoopi came from one of my older brothers who watched an episode of “Family Guy” and was not trying to say a curse word, but instead said shipoopi. The word stayed with us because we never say any curse words and were raised not to. At first it was only him but then after a while it was all of us, and as time went by the word transformed from “shipoopi” to “poop.” Even though we rarely use shipoopi it is still used but not as often as before. In addition, shipoopi has little history, and is used mainly by us in many circumstances that we come across.
As said before, my brother got the word shipoopi from “Family Guy” who got it from the 1957 movie called “The Music Man” where the star character sang a song that was called shipoopi. Family

Guy made a reference to that movie in an episode that was about how Peter got into a football team, and was able to make his first touchdown so he celebrated by doing the shipoopi song. My brother watched that small part and took that word with him since the song was pretty catchy. When he first said shipoopi by accident it was because his plate of food fell on the ground when we were all eating and he said, “Awe shipoopi.” We all started laughing because that was his favorite food, and the expression on his face was impeccable, but the funniest part was how he said shipoopi. Soon after he started using the word more and more before we knew it we were all saying shipoopi all the way to present day.
In another case, the word shipoopi is used when a problem has happened like when perfectly good food falls on the floor we say shipoopi. Many times it is used as a noun, pronoun, and an adjective. For instance, “awe shipoopi!!” is for a noun and,” what the shipoopi is that for,” is as a pronoun. Barely use is as an adjective like, “ are you shipooping me.” All of these examples are using the same word, but have different meanings and are used differently in each sentence. In essence, shipoopi can be used in more ways, but those examples are the most commonly said in the family and have stayed till today.
