“Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” is preparing to strike again after its first installment became a pop culture phenomenon that gave way to more feeding frenzy movies. Tara Reid, who plays the role of April Wexler in the movie said that at first she did not expect that “Sharknado” would have two movies but now they are showing the third installment, Fox News reported. The satirical disaster will open its story with flying sharks attacking the entire Eastern coast. The battle of Man versus Sharks will start in Washington D.C., the nation’s capital and will move down to Orlando, Florida with April (Reid) and Fin (Ian Ziering) in hot pursuit of the sharks. Reid, who has played a role in the films such as “American Pie” and “The Big Lebowski, said she thought of their movie as ridiculous. The actress said that she is always …show more content…
Reid also commented that Bo Derek is the most beautiful woman alive and also added the she is an amazing and wonderful person. Derek and David Hasselhoff, who were the special guests for the film, will play as April’s mother and Fin’s father respectively. There are also celebrities and personalities appearing in the movie such as Mark Cuban with a cameo appearance as president of the United States, Ann Coulter as the vice president, Jerry Springer as a manic tourist, Michele Bachmann as herself, NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick as a pool lifeguard, Washington Redskins’ Tom Compton as a reporter, and Chris Jericho as Bruce, the operator of a roller coaster ride. “Sharknado 3” was called the worst and the best by a movie critic, Steve Persall of Tampa Bay Times. Persall said that the movie strained the boundaries of of good taste and average filmmaking. The movie critic added that “Sharknado” lives to its “Oh Hell No!” subtitle filled with cheap gore, gags, and a squish list of not so recognizable
is going to happen. We do not see the shark itself; this is a good
Throughout the film there are many experts about the ocean and the animals that live in it. Researcher Ritter the misconception of the shark’s species is blown out of proportion by the media, which is why sharks have such an awful reputation. Experts touch up on this subject adding how even one of the biggest movies Jaws is a very large portion from where people get their fears from or it could be from all of the “shark attacks” on the news. Rob discusses how at the rate we are going we can destroy all of the food chains in the marine ecosystem, and this is where most of our oxygen comes from. Throughout the film experts Rob Stewart and Paul Watson are trying to get long lining banned in Costa Rica. Paul makes a really interesting point saying how the biggest problem is that we do not understand what we are and we are just a bunch of “conceited naked apes” that are out of
The controversial documentary named Blackfish was released on July 19, 2013. Gabriela Cowperthwaite, the producer and the director of the film shows the controversial lives of killer whales in captivity. Gabriela is trying to show us about how holding these wild animals in captivity, the way Seaworld did it, results in deaths and injuries to trainers over years of time. This really shows with Tilikum and the case of Dawn Brancheau which ended in a tragic death. The emotion and the tone of the film is trying to persuade the viewer to feel like having these whales in captivity is horrible for them, and they would have a much better life in the wild. Having killer whales in captivity has proven multiple times to be a mistake in the past and big corporate companies such as Seaworld, will do whatever it takes to be able to keep them there.
My fifth advice is when Quinn lies on the radio. He tells people on shore that everything is fine, and they have nothing to worry about, but at this point in the film, they are actually “battling” the shark. This leads the viewers to false pretences, as you can see what is happening, and I got the impression that Quinn did not want the people on the other end of the radio to know the real capabilities of the shark. I also got the impression that Quinn did not want any help, as if it would degrade him, he had to do it all on his own.
Based on Peter Benchley's bestselling novel, 'Jaws' centers around the fictional North Atlantic resort island of Amity, which finds itself terrorized by an enormous great white shark. Our hero is Martin Brody, a New York cop who took the job as Chief of the Amity PD to get his family out of the city and then finds himself in the midst of an unprecedented crisis none of his prior experience has prepared him for. The remains of young Christine Watkins are found on the beach, the apparent victim of a shark attack(Chrissie Watkins' death scene at the opening of the movie is one of the most legendary in the history of film). Chief Brody wants to close the beaches, but is refused permission
Along with the rico suave Clooney, Ocean's 11 stars, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and an tolerable amount other non-one hit wonders. Pitt plays a hip card shark who’s scruffy but sleek under his aviator shades—it’s like he’s straight out of Saturday Night Fever. Danny Oc...
This image is what a majority of people believe to be the shark. They believe it to be the bloodthirsty sea monster that appears in countless works of literature and films, but science says otherwise. The classic picture painted by the minds of sailors returning from years at sea come from imagination and sharks’ violent methods of hunting and mating. Sharks fear humans as much as humans fear sharks, and most sharks, particularly the “man-eating” great whites, only bite humans because they mistake surfers for seals. In earlier times, the ocean was a source of mystery and adventur...
Jaws is a really movie about a lot of suspense. The reason I think that Jaws is a really good movie about building suspense is because of three main things. One of the things that has a lot of suspense is Sound. When Jaws, well the shark is under water and is about to attack something or someone the music starts getting loud. Another thing that is really good about building suspense is the Camera Angle. The reason I think the camera angle is good about building suspense is when the camera is on the boat and it's going with the waves it feels like you're really there. The last thing that really draws my attention in the movie that builds suspense is the picture. The reason that the this really draws my attention is because in the film when something bad or a big part of the movie is about to happen the lighting in the movie also makes it feel like you are really there are have a part of what's actually going on.
“You look really old. Were you held back?” ”No, you look super young, were you held forward?” These words were asked to Greg Jenko A.K.A. Channing Tatum in the 2012 Teen Choice Award winning 21 Jump Street. The movie is basically as follows, 2 less than average cops get sent back to highschool to break up a drug ring.
If 9/11 did not happen, the summer of the shark would have been the top story of the year. “In the year 2001, five people died in 76 shark attacks. However, just a year earlier, 12 people had died in 85 attacks. The data showed that 2001 actually was a down year for shark attacks.” (Meyer, 2012) Although the number of attacks was slightly down, but after the attack of a young boy off the Florida coast sparked interest from a journalist. “Jessie Arbogast, an eight-year-old boy who had his arm bitten off by a bull shark in July near Pensacola, Florida. He survived after his uncle wrestled the shark to shore and pulled Jessie's arm out of its gullet. The arm was surgically reattached, but Jessie sank into a coma, in which he remains, and it was the battle to save his life that first set off the interest of bored journalists looking for a summer theme.” (Cooke, 2001)
When it was first discovered that a ferocious shark was going around biting of limbs the police chief (Martin Brody) suggested that the tourists be warned and the beaches shut down. However, the town’s mayor (Larry Voughn) had another plans. Due to the beach being the small towns only sources of income the mayor stated, “I’m only trying to say that Amity is a summer town. We need summer dollars. Now, if the people can’t swim here, they’ll be glad to swim at the beaches of Cape Cod, because of this he decised it would be better if the beaches remain open while the police chief, a professional shark hunter, and a marine biologist hunt down the great white. Although this situation sparked a lot of unwanted drama it was untimely the decision that progressed the story forward and one that sparked a lot of controversy by its
The film centers on Chief Martin Brody’s quest to stop the shark that is killing people in Amity. Thus, more time is focused on the “emotional affect” the shark has on Chief Brody and his repressed fears causing him “morbid anxiety” (Neff 57). Moreover, the chief is directly affected by the shark when, on the Fourth of July, the shark nearly attacks and kills his son, causing his son to faint on the beach (Jaws). Through the trials that Chief Brody faces, he draws the most interest from the audience. Of all the characters within the film and the various forces of nature, the chief is the only character who's story is fully developed. Throughout the film, he goes from being a concerned and helpless sheriff to the savior of their town. He is positioned as the figure that is meant to be focused on throughout the film. As a result, Jaws does not do much to raise awareness about
Monster is a movie based on a true story about an American female serial killer. Aileen Wuornos was a prostitute who killed multiple men for financial gain to support her and her lover Shelby Wall (her real life name being Tyria Moore). The real life serial killer was convicted of the murders and was executed by lethal injection after ten years on Florida’s death row in 2002.
Having to wait thirteen years for anything can make anyone impatient. Teens and young adults around the world can agree since it took thirteen years to create the long-awaited Finding Dory (the sequel to Finding Nemo). Finding Nemo was one of the greatest success of all Disney animated movies of all time with a box office of 940.3 million dollars. Finding Dory meets and surpasses the box office to the film that inspired, it by gaining 1.023 Billion dollars. Finding Dory is a family-friendly movie the appeals to both young and old.
In 1996, Wes Craven released Scream, a horror film that to this day is a major influence in the horror genre. This paper however is not about Scream, in fact it’s not about horror films at all, because lets be honest, most horror films these days suck (Infact horror films in general have always sucked. Sure you might get an awesome one like A Nightmare on Elm Street, but then you get 5 crappy sequels that follow. Every time a film like Let the Right One In, or The Cabin in the Woods is released, you get 10 films like The Lazarus Effect). Now you may ask yourself, “If this paper isn’t about Scream, or horror films, why are you bring it up.”
