Ever since the beginning of time, religion has caused division. Whether is be how people practiced their beliefs or spread their beliefs, religion has caused problems. Christianity and Islam are two of the largest religions on the world stage and they seem to have similar beliefs, but looking closely, that is not the case. There are problems that arise between the two religions that have cause issues that no one can ignore. This paper will look at the characteristic belief of Sharia law, and how it has caused issues between Islam and Christianity.

Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Since Christianity was the base of our Constitution, it is not hard to see that conflicts can arise between Islam and Christianity.
With an increase in Muslims in the United States, some states have tried to allow sharia law to be practiced, but many adamantly oppose this idea. Numerous courts in the United States of America have banned accommodation of Sharia law. Sharia law directly goes against the Christian worldview. Christianity teaches us to pray for our enemies, love those who hate us, respect women, accept people who are different than us or believe differently than we do. Above all we are to protect human rights. We believe in human dignity.
It is no lie that Sharia law has come to America. While not many people practice or condone this law, there are a number of people who do. As Christians, how do we treat those who contradict of views? One response is to treat all Muslims with love and respect. It may sound easy or it may sound hard but they deserve to be loved as Christ loved us. Another action we can take is to stand for our rights and for the rights of human beings across the world who may not have a voice.
