In this story trickery and deceit are used all too often. They lie to each other rather it’s from a good place or not. Some could lie to another but for that person’s own good. People feel deception is the right thing at the moment are at that particular time. Just like when hero tricked her cousin beatrice when she heard them talking about her. In act 3 ursula reveals “ Therefore certainly it were not good she know his love, lest she’ll make a sport at it (3.1.60). They wanted beatrice to over hear them, they tricked her so she could feel a certain way about benedick. This shows how deceit is used and could be used for good. It is strong and is easily used in love. In act 1 scene 1 prince reveals “I will assume thy part in some disguise...and take her hearing prisoner with the force” (1.1.316). The prince is going to disguise himself as claudio but only to tell hero what he can’t himself. Even though hero won’t know it’s the prince, it will give a chance for her to know how claudio feels. It will not start with the truth but it will bring two people together in love. Deceit is very believable and could be truth to some of the things they say. In act 2 benedick says “ should think this is a gull but that the white bearded fellow speaks of it, knavery cannot” (2.3.126). He thinks what there telling him is a lie and don’t believe it. Since it came from a honest man he feels there has to be truth to it. The truth could sometimes be deceiving and they might not believe it all the time. With all the trickery and deceit people still find themselves in love. Love is strong and deception is very deceiving. It can cause pain and have just now it brought claudio and hero together.
