In “The Sniper” the conflict is man vs man, which means main character is tasked with killing his enemy, but it proves to be quite a challenge. Even though there were many challenges the sniper followed through with his job and persevered even after he was shot in the arm. Wanting to kill his enemy, stay alive, and be one step closer to ending the war was his main goals. Being brave, he took off his hat, placed it on his gun, and raised it above the edge of the roof. Instantly the enemy shot at it and the sniper, pretending to be dead, waited until the enemy got up for him to shoot him. He did some quick thinking and, with determination, handled the conflict quite well.

There is so much that can be learned from the past. Especially from an event that was as catastrophic as this one. How does one person gain such a grip on so many people? How was he able to influence them to change their entire life’s to conform to what he wanted. Somehow he was able to get them to move to a completely new place and create a world all their (his) own. How does one person convince and force so many people that it was time for their life to end? How does he force them to kill themselves? So many questions that are still being answered to this day. There are plenty of movies and research done on this event but there is still a lot to learn.
Holden tries to preserve his own innocence, and the innocence of others by not letting go of childhood memories and through his desire to suspend time. There are many different types of school violence. The one that gets the most public attention is school shootings. The term school shooting is basically defined as an act where a student, school staff member, or intruder from the outside commits an act on the school campus. One of the most well known school shootings took place at Columbine High School near Littleton, Colorado. On a Tuesday April 20,1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, students at Columbine High School, took the lives of thirteen other students before taking the lives of their own. When we think of events like this, we have many questions that go through our mind. Thoughts like why did this happen, could it have been prevented, and how did impact the individuals involved just to name a few. There are probably several more thoughts that go through the minds of a nation when we hear about traumatic evens such as a school shooting.
I want to prevent would-be killers from having access to weapons of war. I want to stop them from teaching themselves to kill through video games. I want mental-health services to be more easily obtained. And I want to deny murderers the notoriety they seek. Amongst the growing number of reports of school shootings in the United States, the question that continues to be asked remains a controversial issue that is heavily discussed. On one side of the argument are many gun owners, or gun activists, who insist that a looser gun control law is the solution, while on the other are the pro-gun control activists who call for a stricter law to help mitigate the increasing problem. Although people believe it would be safer if others were allowed to carry guns, concealed or otherwise, the truth is that a better gun control law would be more effective. Gun violence in America is a public health crisis, which needs to be recognized and changed by legislatures, and the voting American. As conscious Americans, we need to vote for changes to gun laws that would improve background checks nation-wide, make firearm registration mandatory, restrict the sale of assault weapons and weapon modifications that give the shooter military-grade fire power, and invest in gun-safe technology and safe firearms storage designs. This type of technology will help prevent criminally oriented people from accessing guns, and will help prevent the accidental deaths of many children by guns. This essay will explain the reforms needed to help ensure Americans can still exercise their 2nd amendment right of owning firearms, and preventing the unnecessary deaths of many Americans at the same time.
I do think that freedom needs to be won more than once. It shouldn’t need to though. Our founding fathers wrote the Constitution which have our freedoms, the 10 amendments. Our soldiers even fought for our freedom. America isn’t free anymore. My dad’s friend’s friend said that he is from South Africa and they have more freedom than we do.
The debate over gun control in America has constantly brought up over the years due to gunmen killing large amounts of civilizations in shootings. From Columbine to Sandy Hook or the shootings of the two reporters in West Virginia, these public shootings are occurring everywhere. Lawmakers and civilians alike are pushing for increased gun control in hopes of preventing the same tragedies. Anybody that has been affected by the shootings have been pushing Congress and state governments to force new sanctions on government. With the past three years, Congress has shot down all the laws despite the large amounts of public support. Adding more gun control isn’t going to stop the mass shootings from happening.
Through out the history of the United States, most, if not all households owned a gun. Used for protection, hunting, hobbies etc. In the second amendment it guaranteed the right to bear arms. The amendment states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. The liberals are trying to amend the constitution in whatever way. Either stop the sales of firearms or restrict the sales so much that minimal amount of people can buy them. Most studies show that controlling firearms have not stop people from committing crimes.
There are few subjects in the United States of America that cause as much debate as gun control. Both sides have a lot of arguments and a lot of passion, since many violent events have broke out with guns like the Sandy Hook shooting the whole argument has became a lot more heated.
