Service I believe in service. When you think of service, what thoughts pop into your mind? I think of doing yard work for someone else and delivering a meal to those in need. I think of helping others and being kind. I think of acts done in love. I feel that the importance of service is greatly understated in today's society, especially as the need for it grows and grows. Service is literally the act of helping or doing work for someone. When you serve someone, you are helping them in some way. This could be helping with basically anything. When you serve someone, it doesn't have to be anything big. I personally like to serve people by giving out compliments or even just a smile. We all need to realize that “[o]ur prime purpose in this life …show more content…
When I am feeling angry, my brothers understand. When I am struggling, my parents help me. When I need someone to talk to, my grandparents seem to know just the right time to call. Family is what we are made of. Family helps us up and goes through trials with us. Family is doing your part, even when you don’t feel like it. Sometimes I catch myself being unnecessarily mean or impatient with my siblings. It is in those times that I try to think of how loving my parents are to me, and I try to help instead of harm. We cannot be perfect (no one is) but we can definitely try. Be that person that takes help from others, but also gives just as much. No one likes someone who just takes, takes, and takes some more. It may be hard, but we have to try. “Family is not an important thing, it is everything.” (Michael J Fox). I believe that this statement is true. What would mankind be without family? We all need to make family our first priority and help to better our own family. I fear that we will not realize the importance of family until we grow older and it is too late. I hope that we can all realize this and act now. Family is everything. This I …show more content…
There are a lot of requirements to going to college, or getting a job, or being a pro athlete. Having a good education is almost always very high up on that list of requirements. So, even if you want to become an athlete, you have to have a good education. Education is also a great tool to teach you hard work. When you work on a school project or homework (such as essays, presentations, posters, online websites, etc.) it teaches you to work hard on whatever you are doing, even if it frustrates you (that is when I work especially hard). When you care about your own education, then you are more motivated to work even harder. I am a perfectionist, so it is sometimes hard for me to get things done when they are not perfect. Recently, I worked on a project for so long (working out every little detail) that my mom had to tell me to stop working on it! This just goes to show how much I care about my education and getting good grades. Although this is usually a good thing, it can sometimes hinder my work instead of helping it. When you care about your work, it helps you work harder and do better. I know that education is an important aspect of my life. Nelson Mandala once said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” I believe in this statement. Education is powerful. This I
I feel that the importance of service is to help a person in need because you could change someone's life, not because you feel that you need to. People who love what they are doing are the people who effect everything around them.Service has impacted my life because it makes me a better person. My family feels the impact, the community feels the impact, even servicing for a few hours a week affects the people around you. It makes the community a better place to live.
Many great minds believe that education is a powerful tool. Investing in your education is the most valuable and most rewarding thing a person can do to secure their future. Influential people who have brought positive changes to the world have said: “The investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. (Franklin). “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. (Nelson Mandela). “A brighter future starts with an education”. (Montgomery).
I equate service with helpfulness—assisting others. I help both my school community by answering questions and giving feedback and my community as a whole through my volunteer activities, the most enjoyable of which has been Habitat for Humanity.
Service; there are many different things that come into mind when you think of the term service. I use to think of the term as, in something needs to be serviced, something needs to be done or helped. PSL has changed my view on the term service and that their are many different things about service, its not just helping. Throughout my service experiences and resources I have learned its not about helping at all. Naomi Remen, author of In the Service of Life states “serving is different from helping. Helping is based on inequality; it is not a relationship between equals.” Serving is all about having that connection with someone and going in with an open mindset.
“This is part of what family is about, not just love, but letting others know that there is someone watching out for them”(Albom 92). From this quote, one learns that family is always there for them. Family is important to life because
To say that education isn 't an important asset in our society today would be fallacious. It would bring the thought to mind that education is just something that we use because we are forced into it. From a very young age we are drilled into our heads that we will get nowhere in life without first getting the proper education that we need and choosing a career path that will lead us into successfully supporting a family for the rest of our lives. The way we are brought into education as young children into adults can be both a gift and a curse. For life, education can either bring us to persons we want to be, or make us these type of zombies who live in this virtual reality of unhappiness.
If we open our lives and give service to those less fortunate than ourselves, we allow our hearts to receive immeasurable happiness. When we sacrifice our time to help someone in need, whether it is a great or small need, we become a part of their life and can help alleviate heavy burdens. Making time to help people in need creates opportunities for us to develop new and lasting relationships. Serving our fellowmen allows the best in each of us to shine through and we can become examples to our children.
Support does not just come from family, it comes from friends too. Family is more than mom and dad, family can be a long time friend, a best friend or even a role model. This quote is from an unknown person that said this quote, “Family isn’t always blood related”. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are.
The word “family” is often used in connection with a person’s ancestry. Most families are based on kinship. Members belong to the family through birth, marriage, or adoption. Family plays the most vital role in our daily life and family is the finest thing that you can ever desire for. It’s the family who assists their child in hardships of life and give affection no matter what happens. Human personality reflects on what his /her family status is and what their families have taught them.
"Family is not an important thing. It's everything.” This remarkable quote by Michel J. Fox should be the definition of family. Family is everything, they are our motivation, the ones that will love us when others don’t, and are the ones who stick to each other as gum when times get tough. Families have the most robust connections alive. These ties are so solid, and deeply intact that they can do everything and anything. These links allow a family to influence, shape, impact, and change one’s life. The intimacy within the family sphere, shape all who are inside it, this cannot be changed, and well anything that comes from within the family cannot be changed. The family itself can control and change our views on society, influence how we view the family unit, and yet most of all impact our everyday choices. The family’s capacity of guidance can make such an abundant shift that can only be felt, and barely visible unless seen through strained eyes, that makes this connection even more inexplicable than love.
There may be times where no one is there for you, your friends betray you in some way, and the only one that will be waiting with open arms are you family. It is very important to always cherish and appreciate the love, comfort, help, and attention that your family offers you because if you don’t, you may just end up regretting it in the end. A family does not necessarily have to be considered blood. If you have close friends that you see as a brother or sister because of their loyalty to you and the way they treat you, they are considered family. A family will always bring peace, love, and happiness, and though there may be times that you bump heads with your family members, you always run back to each other and speak as if everything is perfectly
Education gives us the ability to change our life by opening successful pathways. Education provides us a better future because learning new things and majoring in things that we like could give us better opportunity. Education is the right pathway to a better life because it gives us knowledge that would help us in the future. Education should be prioritized over issues because education is always important. Education is a very important need in our lives because people are able to achieve and strive for a better life style.
Family is an extremely important relationship connection that should always be strong. Family will always be there to support you emotional and physical through any circumstances. I value my relationship with my family, they support me through my decisions and life goals in my life. I am definitely a family oriented person, family is my top priority. We come in as a family through
Nelson Mandela once said,“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Education is the process of gaining information about the world. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something even better. Access to education is the foundation of a democratic society, because it provides an opportunity for all to achieve the American Dream, ensures equality and justice, and allows for our country to compete globally for a prosperous future.
It is a source of comfort, support, security, and protection. Family helps make sense of the world by allowing one to feel unique and special and be encouraged to follow their dreams and to succeed at life. Families will experience life differently but it should be a safe place that opinions can be expressed openly and each member be made to feel important. While college will provide academic lessons in life, the lessons learned from family will directly affect one's personal values and behaviors. Every stage of life presents joys and challenges. Relationships teach how to cope with those joys and challenges and boost the ability to reach life
