A Response to Serial Podcast Serial Podcast: Serial is an investigative journalism podcast hosted by Sarah Koenig, narrating a nonfiction story over multiple episodes. This podcast was such a great experience for me! I have never done anything like that in my other English courses throughout high school. I recently listened to a podcast called Serial. It was a great experience for me and I really enjoyed the podcast. On that day I was driving to Toronto with my dad and we both listened to it and had a discussion. I expressed my views and it was an interesting discussion that included all types of predictions. I enjoy murder mystery shows and books because I really like the suspense that builds up through the show or novel. I really enjoyed …show more content…
I liked that the narrator had a casual voice that made the podcast easy to listen to and gave it a relatable atmosphere. I like that the narrator included other voices in the podcast, which broke up her voice a bit and made it more interesting to listen to. I think the narrator’s voice is very informal. The case was told as if she was telling a story. Sarah was very relaxed while talking about the case and was confident and casual with what she was saying. It almost seems like she is having a conversation with the listeners. Sarah puts her emotions into the podcast and mentions facts like how she was very happy when she heard Asia’s voice on the phone. She also expressed her opinion about Adnan’s innocence. She believes that Adnan could be innocent, especially after speaking to Asia on the phone. Her way of telling the story or case is very fascinating; I really enjoyed the podcast because it was like listening to someone telling you a story. The way she tells the story “in an everyday tone” makes it seem like someone is having …show more content…
The victim’s family is offended because the Serial podcast brings up memories of the hurtful past. The family has been trying to move past this moment and forget about it for years, but here it is again, following them wherever they go. I also don’t think that the victim’s family would like the story of their daughter on the Internet. They would also have to follow up with the news and see if the person who killed their daughter is out of prison and on the street finishing his normal life. If Adnan is proven innocent and leaves prison then the victim’s family would be thinking “why is he still alive and enjoying his life after killing Hae” in this case they would also want to kill
Summary and Response: The Deal with Jay In Episode 8 of Sarah Koenig’s podcast, Serial, Koenig claims that Jay isn’t a reliable enough source of information for the state to find Adnan guilty of the murder. She argues that there are too many inconsistencies in the story that he has told police over and over, and that there are too many problems in the story that the police use against Adnan. Episode 8 begins Koenig interviewing Stella Armstrong, a juror in Adnan’s case who voted to convict Adnan
