Abstract

Exploring the behavioral social phenomenon of serial killers. This documents will allow its readers to understand that no two individuals are or will be alike. Yes, some individuals may share some of the same characteristics and behavior; however, their motives and experience are different. Categorizing them all as serial killers and psychopaths. What exactly caused these individuals to behave in such a manner that is not or will ever be accepted to society. Could it be experiences from their childhood or adulthood. What forms harm prevention could have been taken.

Meaning that one cannot pinpoint a person to be a serial murderer by their appearance, sex, age, or race; it would be unreasonable. Some murderers know how to maintain an image of normality which is interesting when known they do not value relationships with others outside their mental state.
Understand a book and a serial murder is similar in many ways. Both look to be innocent or just the same as others. However it is the content which is held within that makes the book. As for a human it is the experience and thoughts that are held within. It could be anyone who we seem to know or met. For example netflix series Dexter, whom is a character that play as a son of a cop working within the law enforcement field. Dexter character portrays a normal working man. However, he and his belated father knew that normal was something dexter had to pretend to be. Abuse can change a person's perspective causing harm to others and oneself. Federal Bureau Investigation stated that “ The development of social coping mechanisms begins early in life and continues to progress as children learn to interact, negotiate, and compromise with their peers. In some individuals the failure to develop adequate coping mechanisms results in violent behavior. Neglect and abuse in childhood have been shown to contribute to an increased risk of future violence. Substance abuse can and does lead to increased aggression and violence.
