with visual and textual content. One of the most known types of art we use this day throughout our daily life is performance art and music.
Music plays a huge role in all the people. Music can help ease stress and calm the body down, music can be used to pump our minds when we're feeling sad. It is proven that music affects our emotions, “When we listen to sad songs, we tend to feel a decline in mood. When we listen to happy songs, we feel happier. ... About 22.2 percent of people said that they listen to music between one to two hours every day, where another 22.2 percent said they listen at least five hours a day” . Like how art comes in many forms so does music. Music can vary from really loud music to really slow music and a lot in between. For example, there is classical music which can be used to calm down a body and sometimes help people distract themselves from things, and there is hip-hop or rap music which can be used during a party to lighten the mood and get in the zone to have a good time. Music can be used to help people express themselves. Artists write their music in a certain genre or a certain way because it helps them pertain themselves to others. Music helps people throw out their feelings and tell people their stories. For example, Taylor Swift writes about her breakup and …show more content…
how her life was during the relationship. Painting is a style of creative expression and can be done in numerous forms. Painting is the application of applying paint, pigment, color or another medium to a solid surface. The medium refers to materials which we use to make art.
The materials can be applied to the base with a brush, but other tools such as sponges, roller, pad, airbrush, and knives can be used. Forms of expressions include drawing, gesture, composition, abstraction, narration, and etc. Paintings can be representational and naturalistic, photographic, symbolistic, emotive, or political in nature, and etc. In a history of painting a portion can be dominated to spiritual motifs and ideas in both Eastern and Western art. Examples of this painting range from artwork representing mythological figures on pottery, to Biblical scenes rendered on the interior walls and ceilings of the Sistine Chapel, to scenes from the life of Buddha or other images of Eastern religious origins. In art, the term painting describes both the act and the result of the action. The support for paintings includes such surfaces as walls, paper, canvas, wood, glass, lacquer, clay, leaf, copper and concrete, and the painting may incorporate multiple other materials including sand, clay, paper, plaster, gold leaf, as well as objects. The term painting is also used outside of art as a common trade among craftsmen and builders. The painting also has brain and health benefits such as
creative growth, strengthens memory, builds problem-solving and motor skills, offers stress relief, promotes an optimistic attitude, nurtures emotional growth. “ Painting and other artistic pursuits provide an emotional release for people that struggle with stress. ... A low-stress level leads to a happier, healthier lifestyle and helps improve overall mental health” . Performance Art is an art form that combines visual art with dramatic performance presented to an audience within a fine art context. The performance may be either unscripted or scripted, it can also either be really spontaneous or otherwise carefully planned with groups or as a class of people, sometimes they also use audience help. The performance can be performed live in person or via media, the performer can be present or absent during the performance, it can be any situation that involves the four basic elements which includes space, time, the performer’s body, or presence in a medium, and a relationship between audience and performer meaning the performer is acting out the scene with the need of an audience help, etc.Performance art can happen anywhere, in any type of setting or venue and for any length of time.
I think music has a way of explaining something or telling a story. Music can bring up happy times, it can also bring up sad times as well. Certain songs can remind someone of troubling issues from a past, can be the reminder of someone you have lost, it can also be a reminder of many happy times; such as weddings, high school dances, or even just hanging out with friends in the back
If I were to ask you what is art, and how can one find it? What would you say? Well if it were me being asked those question, I would simply say that art to me is a form of a picture; a visual painting or model of some design and it could be found all among us. You may define it differently only because art could be defined in many ways. I could simply say that art to me is a form of a picture; a visual painting or model of some design. Well according to an article written by Shelley Esaak, an art history expert she mentioned that art has a way of stimulating different parts of our brains to make us laugh or incite us to riot, with a whole gamut of emotions in between. She also mentioned that art gives us a way to be creative and express ourselves. [1]
Music has been around since the very beginning of time. The human body flows in a rhythmic syncopation. Music is used to change one’s mood and to inspire those who open their minds. It has the potential to cure diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. Humans, of every culture and society, function with a type of rhythmic music. As humans, we are hard wired to respond to music (Mannes). The human brain responds to music in such a way that the brain becomes more open to new rhythms, ideas, and values. Music has the power to take over the human body. This makes it easier to overcome conflict and change the ideals of somebody while using music (The Power of Music).
Since the earliest days of human civilization music has been a key tool for communication of stories which carried emotions through them. If we think back to our youngest years of life music has surrounded us whether it was from our parents singing us lullabies or from some sort of toy that played music we can say that musical melodies have helped shape or lives one way or another. Once we start growing up and figuring out who we are our musical preferences change; some people like classical and some like punk. We start to befriend people who like the same music as us and eventually we may attend a musical event. Our lives somewhat revolve around the music that we listen to.
We encounter art everyday. Art is paintings and sculptures, music and dance, film and photography. It is also fashion designing and architecture, novels and magazines. These seemingly different things have one thing in common – they are all ways in which humans convey themselves. For thousands of years, humans have used symbols to tell a story or describe a struggle. Art is the use of these symbols, symbols that represent us in some distinct way.
Art, according to Webster's Dictionary, is a human skill of expression of other objects by painting, drawing, and sculpture. People have used art as a form of expression for a long time. From the Mesopotamian era to the Classical Greeks and the present. Art is expressed in many different ways and styles, and is rapidly changing, one style replacing another. Impressionism and Cubism broke away from the traditional style of painting. They were both looking for a new way to express everyday life. Time is an important tool that is used in Cubism as well as Impressionism. This element is expressed in Claude Monet's Sunrise and Pablo Picasso's Man with a Violin in different ways.
What is art? That is the debatable question. Does the piece present a message? Does it have to be complex? Does it have to create an emotion? Is aesthetic appeal the only requirement? This paper consists of several opinions as to what art is.
Music has been known throughout time. It can help us through everything. There are so many solutions with music to help a person go through so many situations. Music can affect many people in many different ways. Without music some people would be lost and would have no motivation. Music can provide inspiration and insight through education. Music has influence on suicides, killings and shootings, and provocative actions. It can also influence good morals, respect, allowing differences, health, and much more. Music can come in many forms and categories and music is very good for the world.
Music is one of the few things that has remained constant through the centuries this world has existed. Not only does music provide entertainment, it also has several effects linked to it. Music allows emotions of happiness and sadness to arise. From those emotions, physical effects, negative or positive, can occur. Music has a profound effect on the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical aspects of a person.
People talk about the art of things like medicine and cooking, or even war, but though those things require skill and knowledge and can be done with flair, they are not art in the true sense of what is considered visual art.
Music has always been a big part of my life. Music is not just a bunch of melodies, rhythms, and vibrant sounds. It is a comfort to me. The lyrics of a song challenge my intellect and the rhythms and beats affect my emotions. Music understands me when people don’t. At times it takes me back to an event in my life or even in history. Both consciously and subconsciously my mind remembers the emotions that are attached to a certain song. It can make me feel on top of the world or the complete opposite; music can change the atmosphere and also set the mood. Music has power over my human soul. It soothes it. I cannot imagine not having music to listen to. It is a powerful force and my love for it is incredible.
Art is an expression of feelings, body language, and culture produced by humans. Art can be expressed in many different ways, and in many different forms from time to time! You’d be amazed with the different types of skilled work artists come up with each day and it’s all just someone, one person expressing how they feel or what they believe. One form of art that I find very interesting is Fauvism.
Throughout the ages art has played a crucial role in life. Art is universal and because art is everywhere, we experience it on a daily basis. From the houses we live in (architecture) to the movies we see (theatre) to the books that we read (literature). Even in ancient culture art has played a crucial role. In prehistoric times cave dwellers drew on the wall of caves to record history. In biblical times paintings recorded the life and death of Christ. Throughout time art has recorded history. Most art is created for a specific reason or purpose, it has a way of expressing ideas and beliefs, and it can record the experiences of all people.
... life. Artist like their viewers to learn form their artwork or even be inspired by their artwork. When you look up art in today’s society you notice that it is the ones that establish the most unique strongest emotional bond between the audience and the artist who created the beautiful masterpiece that is being viewed. When you look at design today you know that the designers job is not to just invent something that is completely new to the viewers eye, but to communicate to the viewer. The designer wants to communicate with the viewer something that already exists for a purpose. The designer is trying to communicate a very specific message or visual to the targeted viewer. Distinguishing between art and design should be simple. Key things to keep in mind when thinking about art and design is that art is a form of expression and design is a form of communication.
