Why do you want to be a member of senior cabinet? Please include the strengths and talents that you would bring as a member of cabinet. Also discuss what you feel is the most important responsibility of the senior cabinet. I want to be a member of Senior Class Cabinet to increase Darby pride and continue to lead within Darby, while also creating new events to make senior year the best it can be. I have been at Darby for nearly three years now, and every year the senior class, and specifically Senior Class Cabinet, are constantly finding ways to encourage younger students to get involved within the school, while also continuing to make their own senior year more memorable. During my time thus far at Darby, the upperclassmen have shaped my

“Who’s going to step up?”. “Who’s going to change this?”. People ask these questions everyday. I realize that I have never truly thought about the defining characteristics of a leader. I was given a list of qualities and upon reading it, I proudly realized that I demonstrate leadership. But the important consideration should not be how I successfully match this definition, but instead why I do it. I was elected treasurer for the class of 2016, a student body elected official, and hold that position of responsibility by attending meetings weekly, promoting school activities (such as homecoming), and participating in student council planning and events as much as possible. I wanted to become treasurer because I wanted a say in decisions that impacted our class. I wanted to be recognized as an individual that my peers could come to with questions and concerns.
Throughout everyday tasks in the classroom, or outside of school, I step up and lead those who need to be led. I constantly find new opportunities to lead others and help the situation any way I can. Every summer the band has a marching band camp for a week straight that we must all attend. Being an experienced band member, I step up and assist all underclassmen and show then where to go and what they need to be doing. Instead of getting frustrated when giving the freshman directions, I am calm and collect and walk them step by step until they understand, something most leaders would not have time or patience for. With many plans to help others and lead within my community, I believe that I have what it takes to be a strong, and powerful leader for the National Honor Society.
This is when I decided to try and become a member of the student council. I was elected and soon loved it. My school is very important to me and I wanted to do my very best to make it the best possible high school experience for not only me, but every student that attends White Bear Lake. I found that was helpful to have many different views on the council, and I think I brought a new view that was not accounted for before. Being a hockey captain my senior year, I was elected to be in Leadership Academy. This group meets and talks about how to most effectively lead our sports teams as well as the school. This is very important to me because as a leader I want to set the best example possible for my peers and this group allows me to improve my leadership skills to make them even better. I value this program very much because I think it will help me to succeed in the future, because these skills are lifelong skills to have. I have also became a math tutor for my classmates. Being a tutor is very important to me because it allows me to share my knowledge and help
I have participated in the school’s marching band for four years has a member of the color guard. The last two years I have even earned a leadership position. From being in marching band, I have learned the ability to look for a bigger picture in things. For instance, something that may not seem clear now may take a true shape in time. I have also gained working experience through my two lifeguarding jobs from the last three years. I have learned how “size up” a situation and see how to properly deal with a problem. I have also learned, through both commitments, how to time manage myself and both achieve in activity/work and in school. I believe that through these experiences, I can bring a different perspective to the Honors Program’s community and help better it in any way possible.
I was selected to be one of the Associate Student Council at my high school. Being in a student council, I learnt to establish goals, delegate my responsibilities, practice giving directions to the students on executing tasks successfully and organizing orientation activities for the new students. My teacher said that I had the ability to lead my friends and the new students. During my high school life, as one of the student council, I used to handle many orientation activities for the new students. For example, I conducted a tour around my high school compounds for the new students while giving them descriptions about the school. I am really confident that there are a lot of things that I learnt from this position which I can use if I was chosen as a new student orientation
I feel with the qualities I have the potential to contribute a lot to this
An executive order is a rule or order issued by the president to an executive branch of the government. Executive orders does not need Congressional approval but they mean just as much and are just as important as those that were approved by the Congress. I believe that the president being able to make an executive order is constitutional. There is no constitutional rule that plainly gives the president executive orders. The term executive powers is used in Article 2, Section 1, Clause 1 of the Constitution which refers to the office of the President as the executive. The President is instructed to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed” which is stated in Article 2, Section 3, Clause 5. This gives the President the power to make laws
I am hard working. For JSA this year, I spend countless hours ensuring that all three overnight conventions ran smoothly. On the chapter level, I spent hours finding transportation to and from one-day events and organizing club meetings. Second, I am an honest person. A leader needs to be honest to the people he or she is serving. Furthermore, I possess good communication skills. A leader must be able to communicate with the people around them. As the Young Democrats Vice President, I was in constant communication with our members, Democratic candidates, and the press. I truly believe that I possess all the qualities needed to be a fantastic leader. My peers have seen that I have leadership capabilities. As a result, I hold multiple leadership positions within my school and
With senior year beginning and the end of high school already approaching, growing up has got me thinking of all the things that still need to do as kid before things “get real”. So much still needs to be done before going on to college, before graduating high school, and before becoming an adult; things that need to be done as a kid. The one thing that comes to mind that I feel must be done before going on to be an adult is letting my inner kid out and play in the mud at least one more time.
Many people have been asking me how I feel about my last semester of senior year in high school. Some students say that they are ready to get out of high school others not so much. I see both sides of how you would feel about it and really don't know which side Im on. At times I am ready for the year to be over others I'm not. The times that I am ready for the year to be over could be caused by a variety of things. For example you might be feeling like your ready to grow up and start your adult life, you could be having a bad day and that makes everything less enjoyable, you could have had a bad experience at the school and want to get out of there as soon as possible so you don't experience anything bad again. The effects of wanting to be
The year is 2027, first off I want you not to worry about death anymore
Besides academics, fine arts and sports in school, I have attained leading roles in different groups. This year, I am the Spirit Leader of Student Council encouraging monthly goals and themes and assisting in school events. From creating a student council with a group of peers three years ago we have had success in many events and have found new ways to spread spirit, gather important information and assist with financial groups. Recently, I stepped up to be the leader of the fundraising committee for our ...
If I become a representative for the freshman class, I intend to act professional and treat the other council members with the utmost of my respect because as a representative I will represent the whole freshman class with my decisions and actions while I am in office. I also promise to understand my role and acknowledge that even though I am in a position of power I must obey the rules of the school and respect the administrators of our prestigious school. If I end up winning the election, I will set the right example for the students that are watching me and how I behave to replicate my attitude and/or behavior around other students and my teachers. I want this position so I can have the opportunity to lead people to Jesus through my kindness and responsibility in my treatment of fellow students. I believe that if I set the best possible example for Jesus, then maybe my possible successors will follow in my footsteps and become better people by doing so.
Throughout this semester I have learned so much about myself in many different aspects. I learned that I am the direction south and the color blue. For one thing I know that I want to hear what everybody’s opinion before make a decision. I have learned things about my personality that are will be benefit and things that are not a great when working in groups. For example I am a very cooperative person but I am also very dependent on others for ideas. I also learned that I am a collaborator when it comes to being a team player. I try to keep the group focused on the goals and purpose of the activity. I am also the team player that will do whatever it takes to get the team to reach the final goal. Throughout the semester I have improved my skills and realize what areas I need to improve in communication, working in groups, and organization.
