Recommended: Importance of respect
91. Show Respect - This is such a simple act but one that is often overlooked, but it is the most important to making or breaking success in life. Some people feel they don 't need to respect anyone but want others to give them unconditional respect. The world doesn’t work like that because you have to give to receive. Start respecting more people and you will get more positive responses from them. http://blog.centers.saintleo.edu/blog/cultivate-self-respect-and-show-respect-towards-others 92. Try To Understand People Better - Understanding people better will keep you from judging them and see things from their perspectives. Sometimes people do things we are not familiar with that makes us feel insecure but if we were to see things from their points of views we would understand them better. http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-7420/5-tips-to-get-better-at-understanding-people.html 93. Continue Doing What Works - People tend to go against the grain and do different stuff, but in life, sometimes it is best to keep doing what works. Find a system and stick with it. For instance, if you find a multivitamin that gives you lots of energy and works in synch with your body, then keep on buying it. If you find a neighbourhood or city that you like, then go move there. It will have a positive impact on your well-being. http://homeguides.sfgate.com/people-should-respect-environments-communities-79397.html 106. Respect Nature - Nature tend to let us what is wrong and what is right by responding to different stimuli. When you body receives a cut, you feel pain, and when an animal feel threatened it growls in defiance. So be wary of pollution, littering, and wasting food that eventually destroys the earth. Also, understand your body’s limits and use common sense by not going mountain climbing during a winter storm. Respect nature and it will respect you.
Throughout my life, I have met countless role models (supervisors, co-workers, teachers, coaches, my parents) who push me harder and harder every single day so that I will succeed beyond belief in the changing world of today. Respect is also holding you up to an expectation that gets tougher and tougher because I am pushing myself harder. I will always have respect for all today, tomorrow, and the future
Proper respect for others begins by a person respecting their self. Respect is developed by expressing honor, leadership, value, and trust in a person. If everyone respects everyone someday, the world will become a seventh heaven. It is important to be respectful for safety, to abide by the law, because children are influenced by their elders’ actions, and because God says so. Motivation from peers can help a person realize there is always room to improve the level of respect a person exhibits. Respect was, is, and always will be a positive attribute for everyone to strive for in their lives.
“When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudice and motivated by pride and vanity.” - Dale Carnegie
We should treat nature with the same respect that us humans should give another human or any other living thing, but instead of doing that we ignore
The book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie teaches people important lessons on how to deal with people not only in a professional area but with normal social situations as well. The book starts off with describing different situations on how to deal with people. For example humans should treat people with more appreciation and not just compliment them. People like to feel appreciated and sometimes it can lead a person to want to be more successful when they realize that some notices their hard work. Another example is when someone is trying to convince another person into doing something one always should realize what the other person wants first and talk to
First, I have the client form a hierarchy of different fears. Next, I give a training session on relaxation, showing them how to control their breathing and release tension through meditation. In this step, they learn to relax when presented with their fear, for it is impossible to be both relaxed and anxious at the same time. Finally, my clients are presented with their fears according to the hierarchy they had documented. Thus, I start with the lesser ones and build up to the greater fears. Of course, if you’re terrified of spiders, I’m not going to put a tarantula on your arm. We would start with maybe something as simple as a picture of someone looking at a spider at the zoo or seeing a spider on television. Then I use the relaxation techniques to control their anxiety so they are able to lessen their anxiety when confronted with their
Many of us had a stage in their lives when they were shy. Some will always be like this. While it might be considered as disadvantage, it's common and not surprising. But what if we're so embarrassed around other people that we start to avoid them, being in public makes us nauseous, and we have tremendous difficulty with even buying food in stone? What's more, it makes us feel worthless and totally destroys our social life... It's not a simple shyness anymore, even if many people would classify it as such. This problem, still not known very well, is called Social Anxiety Disorder. Hippocrates was apparently first human to notice symptoms of social anxiety, which was named social phobia for the first time in around 1900. It wasn't really known until 1985, when psychiatrist Michael Liebowitz and clinical psychologist Richard Heimberg done a research on this topic and made it more widely recognized. Moreover, it's actually world's third biggest mental problem - as The Kim Foundation claims, there are about 40 million people around 18 years old having this disorder. Psychologists researching causes of this phenomena. I am writing about social anxiety disorder, because I am trying to show you how it can change someone and why it's extremely difficult to live with it in order to explain how we can understand person suffering it, help him or her or recognize this disorder, so that we will know more about human psychology.
People can never experience their true character when hiding behind a façade of self-doubt. Not only are these individuals hurting themselves, but they are also harming their relationships with others. Insecurity comes from the lack of confidence in an individual. Wanting approval is shown in those who are insecure. When this emotion grows it becomes something as ugly as jealousy. As well as an addiction to the dependency of another person. Nevertheless, insecurity is a powerful emotion that creates a negative effect on an individual’s ability to view themselves positively and impacts their
Act in such a way that you always treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never simply as a means but always at the same time as an end (O’Neill,
The next tip is “give honest and sincere appreciation.” A recurring theme in this book, is that people want to feel like they are important. There is a driver forcing you to do everything in life. For example, as a chairperson of the Business Week publicity committee, I am working hard to promote the Business Week activities and increase attendance using creative tactics. When people show up to events because of a promotion I created, it makes me feel important and gives me a sense of fulfillment. Such is the case when dealing with others. If they know they are appreciated, they will feel important and will continue doing a good job in the future.
In conclusion respect is wrapped around our day to day lives. A famous philosopher once said “Respect is showing acknowledgement for some ones superiority in a certain field.” You can’t buy, demand, or force people to respect you but you can respect others in order for them to respect you. What people do not understand is that if we use common sense we would be respecting ourselves, respecting others, and respecting property all the time. Respecting yourself, others, and property might not be easy to do but it does have great rewards if you just do it.
In conclusion, phobias are a big part of many people’s lives these days and a growing medical condition. People do not realize how badly phobias can affect their lives so they don’t receive medical attention. There are no cures for phobias but there are treatments which will help the phobic get over their fear. I personally believe that if people care enough about their lives, they will treat their phobias. Phobias can totally alter your life so if you have any of the symptoms I have listed above, please go and get treatment.
The second form of respect is the respect of property. This includes anything from writing on a desk at school to stealing from a department store. Property, whether it is the school's, a company's, a stranger's, or a friends, should always be respected. Respect means taking that extra few seconds to drive the speed limit so as not to hit anyone or anything. It means not smashing a pumpkin at Halloween just for fun. It means not throwing that piece of trash on the ground. That is respect.
Living a healthy life style is challenging and stressful but it shouldn't be that way. Starting off slow and allowing your body to get accustomed to such changes will help you enjoy yourself more with these new changes. Changing one dish you eat to something healthy is a great start. Keeping yourself happy while putting healthy foods into your body or exercising will further your success. I’ve come to realize that your outlook on things will effect how much effort you put into it. Keeping yourself active and motivated is crucial to such a change. Making schedules or goals for yourself weekly and trying to fulfill those goals will help you accomplish more. If you manage to fulfill each of those goals, allow yourself one of you're favorite cheat foods. Keeping healthy is all about working with what you know and how willing you are to keep going and challenging yourself to new
