When I took the MBTI, some of the things I knew about myself were reinforced, and I also learned some new things about myself and my personality. The four letter code that I received was ISTJ, representing introversion, sensing, thinking, and judging. I expected each of these preferences, and when I read the definition of each, it further strengthened my understanding of what my personality really means in “technical terms.” My four letter code came with titles such as the Duty Fulfiller, the Responsible Realist and the Inspector, names I also agree that pertain to myself. Some of the attributes of an ISTJ personality type include serious and quiet, dependable, well-organized, hard-working, goal-striving, determined, logic-based, orderly, and traditional. If I were asked to describe myself, I would more than likely use nearly all of these terms to do so, which goes to show how accurate this test was, for me at least. But, I also can pick out some challenges that may arise because of the personality type that I am. One example relates to being an introvert, who prefer to focus on one thing at a time.

Within the Jung Typology Test (JTT) it states that my type of personality is introverted, sensing, feeling and judging. The results indicated I am an introvert over extrovert, the score showed 56%. There was a marginal or no preference to sensing over intuition at 1% for this result. Moderate preference to feeling over thinking at 25%, and a strong preference to judging over perceiving at 78%. So this is saying that I am an introverted sensing with extroverted feeling.
The Myers and Briggs Analysis is a series of questions that when answered are examined and grouped together in order to determine the personalities of those taking this test. This particular test can result in sixteen different outcomes or types of personalities, which is determined by four different categories that judge if you are introverted or extroverted, use your senses or your intuition, your choice to think or use your feelings, and finally if you are judgmental or perceptive. These series of questions are designed to judge our personalities and help us to determine which career pathways we will be most suited for based on our personality traits and abilities to work well with others, which is important for our future decisions.
The bases of this paper will be based on the results that I had obtained when I took the Myers-Briggs personality test. The results that I had obtained was that I was determined to be an ENFJ. I will go into depth about letter and how each represents that a specific aspect of my personality. The results that I had received were not what I had expected, but the more I read about the trait the more I realized how it suited me. I will also talk about the information that I had found useful from the book, Type Talk at Work: How the 16 Personalities Types Determine Your Success on the Job by Otto Kroeger, which gave me insight on how to interact with other personality types especially in the work environment. The information that I absorbed from the personality test and from the book will go into use in my personal and work life so that both environments will be cohesive and peaceful.
White Collar is a show that was released in 2009 and finished airing in 2014. It had 6 seasons and a total of 81 episodes and aired on USA Network. The show is about Neal Caffrey, who is played by Matt Bomber and how he changed his life around. He was an intelligent con artist with multiple skillsets. But he was eventually caught by FBI special agent Peter Burke, who is played by Tim DeKay. Mozzie is Neal’s best friend who was played by Willie Garson. Throughout the beginning of this semester I have looked at how individuals behave within business organizations. Through various exercises and results, I have found a number of patterns within my behavior and interests. I have become aware what interests me, and a number of skills/abilities I was oblivious I had. This reflection and in class exercises has allowed me to expand my skills, abilities, and behaviors, well fitting them into prospective future employment.
My results said that I have an ISFJ personality. My scores were introvert (56%), Sensing (31%), Feeling (16%), and Judging (44%). The assessment stated that ISFJs frequently find themselves in occupations that either involves a lot of dealings with other people and require thoroughness and persistence. They work in organizations of various sizes and industries, where as a rule they work with people. Very often ISFJs recognize their potential in healthcare (nurse, patient care, and medical services, as well as administrative jobs) and several community care organizations. I do agree with some of the Jung Typology Seal assessments. I agree with being an introvert since I am a person that is reserved and to myself half of the time, but, on the other hand, I do like to serve others. I do not agree that I am overworked. If I get to the point to where I feel overworked, I will go to my boss and discuss the matter, so that I can get help with my work before resulting in some of extent psychosomatic illnesses. I agree with the part about working best with a small group or one-on-one situation. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) has recognized my profile as Introvert, Intuitive, Thinking and Judgment (INTJ). As an introvert, I can get nervous among other people. It does not pose a problem for an individual. On the other hand, in order to be an effective leader, it is important for me to keep a profound communicational relationship with my subordinates. Without proper communication skills, it is not possible to establish a functional relationship with my subordinates. This may jeopardize the success of any activity that we are involved in. The introvert part is perhaps the major barrier which may keep me away from being an effective leader.
I think overall the test was very accurate in describing my personality type. I am a nurturer, kind-hearted, and want to believe the best in people. The portrait of ISFJ’s was spot on, however, I disagree with some of the relationship weaknesses. They described my personality to be very emotionally needy, with a difficult time leaving a bad relationship, or moving on from an ended relationship. I have to disagree with this because I feel I am the type of person that once you lose my trust in a relationship, I am done with trying to make that relationship work.
