How many accidents happen in each day? Most of them were caused by human. I have seen many people in Europe don’t have much accident compare to Asia because some of the them change to self-driving car. I have read research from World Health Organization said that “more than 14,000 people were killed on Thai roads”1. I have decided to talk to you to you about self – driving car because I want you mind you that nowadays computer make less error than human. Today, I plan to tell you about 1. Bad driver 2. Accident 3. Self–driving car.

Sometime they only get injury but sometime it’s mean your life. Most of the accident are from the human error that don’t sleep very well at night or drink alcohol before driving that mean those are the effect from a bad driver that I told you before. From the problem, before I will tell you about the solution about this problem. Self–driving car, this is the way out that help you from this problem because the computer doesn’t have emotion or feeling that mean you will not be a bad driver that effect to have less accident and you will feel more comfortable and also help blind people because you don’t have to drive a car. From this graph, x-axis is about year and y-axis is about quantity of car that has self-driving features in million. You will see the estimate base car with self-driving feature that will increase more in every year.
Let’s I summarize what I have said before to you.
Human has a limit because of emotion, tired that will cause an accident so I come up with an idea about self-driving car that will help us to use the car more safety because the computer doesn’t have those of the problem that I have said
Have you ever feared that your loved one or even someone very close to you will be involved in a fatal car accident every time they left the house? Drunk driving is a factor in nearly one-third of all fatal accidents. Even if you aren’t the one driving, you are still at risk any moment to get involved in an accident that could’ve been prevented. By legalizing fully self-driving cars, we won’t have to fear the pain of losing a loved one. We could have a quick fix to all of this madness easily. The number of traffic accidents are soaring at 1.3 million deaths a year. Drunk Driving is still one of the number one causes of vehicle deaths; therefore, the government should allow self-driving cars to become legal to combat the issue. If we don’t act now to combat this issue we will have to deal with the consequences it will bring.
Who’s to blame when the vehicle gets in a severe car accident? Advances in technology, like self-driving cars, will be bad because it causes people to be lazy, it takes away the responsibility of the driver, it takes away the responsibility of the driver, and it can malfunction causing accidents.
Companies like Google, Tesla and Nissan, among others, have announced over the past few years that their companies are trying to develop self-driving or autonomous cars [Ref. 1 and 2]. Self-driving cars can provide many benefits to the average consumer. Studies have shown that because computers can react and process information many times faster than a human being, crashes on streets and roads can be decreased with quick and consistent evasion maneuvers by the autonomous car. They can also help maximize fuel economy by calculating the most direct and fastest routes. When the driving of an autonomous car demonstrates that the computer can safely and reliably transport the passengers to their destination, this frees up the passengers to do other things that they would not normally be able to do if they were driving the car manually. For this reason, self-driving cars can help maximize productivity of their passengers.
On May 7th, 2016, Joshua Brown became the first casualty of an autonomous car crash. Many other automobile accidents occurred that day, and some of those accidents also resulted in death. Mr. Brown’s accident gathered widespread attention because the autonomous car he was riding in failed, while in autopilot mode, to identify a transport truck crossing the highway and the result was a tragedy. This incident serves as a warning that automation only makes us more safe if we remain engaged in the task of driving. The National Safety Council believes that there is a road to zero deaths and this road involves automation of driver functions (NSC, n.d.), but what is our responsibility as drivers in this time of increasing automation?
It might be hard to see where the self-driving car could have issues with safety but an interesting question arises when an accident is unavoidable. The question posed is “How should the car be programmed to act in the event of an unavoidable accident? Should it minimize the loss of life, even if it means sacrificing the occupants, or should it protect the occupants at all costs? Should it choose between these extremes at random?” (ArXiv). This is a very interesting question surrounding ethics. I’m not sure if there is a right answer to the question, which could stall the self-driving car industry. Before self-driving cars are mass produced a solution needs to be found to the question about unavoidable accidents. Although this question is a problem, there may not be a need to address the problem. It is said that “"driver error is believed to be the main reason behind over 90 percent of all crashes" with drunk driving, distracted drivers, failure to remain in one lane and falling to yield the right of way the main causes.” (Keating). Self-driving cars could eliminate those problems entirely and maybe with all cars on the road being self-driving cars, there would be no “unavoidable accidents”. Another safety benefit of the self-driving car is the issue of unsafe teen drivers on the roads. In a study conducted by Sheila Sarkar and Marie Andreas, fifty five percent of 1,430 teenage drivers admitted to engaging in risky behaviors while driving (Sarkar 687). The newscast regularly reports about fatal car accidents which involved teen drivers who were racing or driving drunk. The biggest reason why these cars will make a safer world is that accident rates will enormously drop. There is a lot of bad behavior a driver exhibit behind the wheel, and a computer is actually an ideal motorist. Millions of Americans die in car accidents every year. Because of this staggering statistic, many states have recently begun making it illegal to use hand-held cell phones while driving. I believe this decision was rightly made and should be actively enforced in all fifty states. Although cell phones are helpful, using them while driving needs to be nationally unlawful because it takes the driver's attention off of driving and it puts everyone on the road at risk of danger.
Moreover, accidents could not only happen because persons fail to override the system when they should have, but also because people override it when there really was no danger of the system causing an accident (Douma & Palodichuk, 2012). As the level of sophistication of autonomous cars improves, the possibility of interventions by the driver might cause more accidents than it helps to avoid. But even assuming such intervention was possible, if the person in question were sufficiently focussed, one might still question if people would be able to keep up the necessary attention over longer periods of time. Fully autonomous vehicles will only be market-ready (we assumed) once they drive more safely than the average human driver does. Of course, a driver may be aware of and responsible for his level of alertness.
Discussion 2, Presentation I would like to address a major issue across America involving the driving conditions we must face getting to and from anywhere. First and foremost, the DMV reiterates daily that driving is a privilege not a right. Second and most importantly, there is no requirement that needs to be met except a passing test one day of the year to acquire a license to anywhere in America. Evan something as little as running a red light or going over the speed limit can end someone's life. You must realize you are not a perfect driver, you have at least broke one traffic law. As example you've gone over the speed limit, not looked over your shoulder for an incoming car, or even used your blinker.
