Yakima's Second Street Grill serves new American cuisine in its welcoming and modern eatery. The sweet chili chicken wraps with fresh basil and a sweet Thai chili sauce and the Italian sausage and mozzarella cheese stuffed mushrooms make for fun and scrumptious starters. House specialties include the spiced pork tenderloin roasted in an ancho chili cinnamon rub and topped with an apple pico de gallo and the wok-fried almond chicken rice bowl with mushrooms, celery and bean sprouts. Diners love the toasted avocado sandwich, layered with mozzarella, tomatoes, basil and pesto and the spicy habanero jack burger, a juicy patty topped with habanero jack cheese and green chilies. Second Street Grill also has a mouth-watering weekend breakfast menu
The worst essay from this semester is Magical Dinners by Chang-rae Lee. Why even have this atrocity on the syllabus? Magical Dinners is very blandly written (almost as bland as the food his family makes). This was made obvious by the fact that nobody in our class was into it and there was silence during the whole discussion instead of lots of participation. Furthermore, the only rhetoric I could find Lee even attempting to use was code grooming, which was highly unsuccessful because the meals that his mom made did not sound good and were unable to grab my attention or appetite. This is illustrated when Lee writes “She cooks an egg for me each morning without fail. I might also have with it fried Spam or cereal or a slice of American cheese,
Chipotle’s cuisine is Mexican. Their menu consists of burritos, tacos, burrito bowls, and salads prepared with fresh ingredients employing classic cooking methods. The customer proceeds down an assembly line choosing the various components of their meal as they proceed. They have recently created a children’s menu offering smaller portion sizes. They offer three types of meats: chicken, beef, and pork. Condiments include fajita vegetables, rice, two types of beans, four different salsas, sour cream, cheese, guacamole, and lettuce.
Chuy’s Tex-Mex Restaurant started in 1982 in Austin, TX off Barton Springs Rd. It was the vision of two friends, Mike Young and John Zapp. They wanted to create a restaurant that offered quality food, diverse options, and affordable prices. The first location was in an old, abandoned BBQ shack with limited room and space, but it would certainly do. Mike and John ran low on their budget for décor and ended up with $20 to spend. John went out to find as much décor as possible. “You can’t fake cheap.” said, John. One of the items John came back with was a velvet canvas of Elvis; thus the beginning of the signature culture and environment provide by Chuy’s. John and Mark say, “If you’ve seen one Chuy’s, you’ve seen one Chuy’s.” The one common denominator found in each location is the Elvis Shrine. From the very beginning The King has played a part in this successful restaurants growth and development.
Chao-Wei Wu Jeffrey McMahon English 1A 23 July 2014 Chef Jeff Henderson_Cooked Chef JH’s personal memoir, Cooked, is a model confirmation that it is feasible for an author to give a moving message without sounding sermonizing and redundant. Cooked takes place after Henderson's rise and fall (and rise once more). The story begins with his alliance with drug merchants of becoming one of the top split cocaine merchants in San Diego by his 23rd birthday. It leads to his capture and inevitably his rising into the culinary business (Ganeshram 42).
I will be talking about Carmine’s Southern Italian Restaurant, Specifically the Theater District location where I work. Carmine’s located in the Theater District is a very successful establishment; I have met some of the hardest working individuals in my time of employment and have learned how the company works. They are a family style restaurant where all food is meant to be shared. Carmine’s implements a real good concept and I will be talking about all of things that help this business thrive and be a fan favorite in New York.
Malcolm X stated that the most disrespected, unprotected and neglected person in America is the black woman. Black women have long suffered from racism in American history and also from sexism in the broader aspect of American society and even within the black community; black women are victims of intersection between anti-blackness and misogyny sometimes denoted to as "misogynoir". Often when the civil rights movement is being retold, the black woman is forgotten or reduced to a lesser role within the movement and represented as absent in the struggle, McGuire 's At the Dark End of the Street: Black Women, Rape, and Resistance--A New History of the Civil Rights Movement from Rosa Parks to the Rise of Black Power does not make this same mistake.
Every play contains a story and every story, a message. The Spitfire Grill is no exception. This play recounts the story of Percy, a young woman reintegrating with society after spending five hard years in prison. Through newfound friends, Percy finds her way out of the dark and lonely life she’s been living, and into a life where she’s surrounded by people who love her, despite her past. From seeing the show, I can only conclude that two primary themes emerge from Percy’s story: redemption and forgiveness. Not only does Percy learn to forgive herself owing to Shelby’s compassion, but Hannah as well comes to terms with her own failings as a mother.
Our team has been instructed to help advise on a business case involving a restaurant, The Mongolian Grill. It’s owner, John Butkus, is contemplating renovations, in hopes of adding capacity and increasing revenue. There are several scenarios that are available to him. One option is to add an extra food bar. The second option is to move the location of the cooking area. He can also implement both options, if he so chooses. Our team has done the appropriate financial calculations, as well as qualitative considerations.
A. Attention getter- Do you Know that Chipotle uses organic ingredients and naturally raised chicken, pork and beef?
When it comes to picking out a restaurant with family or friends things tend to get complicated. One person might want to go to a steakhouse, while the other wants Italian. Choosing a restaurant should focus on the quality of the food, the pricing of the food, and the competitiveness of that restaurant to its competitors. Olive Garden is one of the most revered Italian-American restaurants in the United States compared to its leading competitor, Maggiano’s. Olive Garden leads in lower prices, food options, complementary food, and even has lighter options for the health conscious.
There are specials offered at every meal depending on the season and the catch of the day. Chef Vanzile says that he plans the menu around what fresh fish and produce look the best rather than what is trendy. However, there is still a great deal of ambition evidenced in the menu. Some recent specials included Mahi chowder and blackened salmon with Romesco cream as well as more expected fare such as sautéed crab cakes and a shrimp omelet. Fish and chips were the special on St. Patrick’s Day, an Irish themed-meal for diners to enjoy.
Lunch consists of empanadas, chicken or meat turnovers, or cuban sandwiches. The sandwich could be a media noche (midnight sandwich), consisting of a slice of pork, ham, and swiss cheese and then topped with pickles and mustard on sweetened egg bread. The pan con bistec is a thin slice of palomilla steak on Cuban bread garnished with lettuce, tomatoes, and fried potato sticks. One may also order a side of mariquitas, thinly sliced plantain chips, to accompany their hearty sandwich.
The next song that I chose to listen to is El Grillo. El Grillo is a very humorous song. It is a very fascinating version of musical piece. What I really enjoyed about “El Grillo” was the use of text painting, which was used by Dez Prez'. Text-painting was a huge thing in that time, as madrigal became popular. Text-painting is when music matches the word. The song is basically an extended example of text painting, I think, because the light tone, bouncy melody, and whimsical repetition makes the listeners think of the cricket. For the majority, this is a really simple song! And I like seeing the way music has evolved. Very
This warm, toasty burger comes with two juicy, hand-seasoned, all-beef patties topped with seasoned grilled onions, creamy cheddar cheese sauce, mayonnaise and your choice of American or pepperjack cheese, all served on bakery fresh toasted sourdough bread.
I consider the toppings of the Chicago dog with its tomatoes, peppers, and a pickle spear. The tomato is an unusual topping on hot dogs, found only on the Chicago dog. The peppers bring a crisp spiciness to the Chicago dog that is unlike the savory spiciness of the chili on the chili dog. The pickle spear of the Chicago dog gives a full dill flavor from beginning to end. Then, I consider the toppings on the chili dog. The hardy, beefy chili which the chili dog is named for could be a meal within itself. The cheese atop the hot dog melts amazingly against the hot chili. The crowning jewel of the chili dog is the sweet, cold coleslaw with its carrots, cabbage, and
