First expectation is to appear in class. Students need to attend everyday/week except if you have a reason such as you are feeling poorly or if something unpredictable were to happen, etc. Although when it comes to being in a big classroom like in college, professors do not interface with their students and presence may not be as noticeable as it was in a small classroom in secondary school unless you sit in the front. However, high school teachers appear to be harsher, impolite, and have numerous regulations for the students to obey. For those students who did not obey the rules teachers would discipline them. When you were a student in high school teachers would just give you the work and continue to remind you to complete it before the due date. Yet, when you missed an assignment or an exam teaches help you keep up with the rest of your class. For instance, there was a time I notified my teacher that I would be missing a week of school because I was going to be out of state and he responded that I could turn in all my assignments when I get back without affecting my grade. On the other hand, college would make you choose between a break and keeping up a good GPA. Although, professors assume students are capable but responsible as well. They hand out a syllabus for their course that occurs everything they will be responsible for throughout the semester such as due dates and requirements needed. For example, I had a friend who went to college early this year and they would ask their professors if they had worked or when was something due but their professor would not response back. However, another classmate of hers told her the professors have different expectations than high school teachers; they expect you to be responsible and look through the syllabus. Lastly, college also has one rule for students that is that you do not plagiarize on your assignments there will be penalties unlike in high school. If you plagiarize, you will fail and get expelled, once expelled other colleges will not accept
There is a student Emma, who has recently graduated from Austin High School, where 90/10 grading system is used; 90% of Emma’s grade is knowledge based with scores such as tests and projects, while her practice work such as homework is worth 10% of her grade. Emma, finds school somewhat easy and since homework was only 10% of her grade, so she often did not bother to do her practice work. Even though she did not do her homework through high school she managed to keep above a 3.00 GPA. College professor are specialist in their field, while high school teachers have general information that runs on a curriculum. The development of a new CBE scale is justifiable based on the explanation of the relationship among antecedents, construct and consequences under an unique theoretical framework. In doing so, this study resulted in strong empirical evidence of the Expectancy Theory (ET) framework for explaining consumer brand engagement self-selected brands. The sequence of effort (cognitive, behavior and emotional), performance (consumer brand engagement) and outcomes (BRR & CBE-O) chain of effects was large and significant. The effort-performance (E-P) causal relation was operationalized by the effort based dimensions of CBE, namely Cognitive, Behavioral and Emotional. The performance-outcome (P-O) causal relation was operationalized by the consumer brand engagement concept, and instrumentality was operationalized as the Brand Related Rewards (BRR) to consumer brand engagement outcomes (CBE-O). It was demonstrated that the brand engagement dimensions predict expected Brand Related Rewards (BRR), which in turn predicts consumer brand engagement outcomes (CBE-O). As a result, hypothesis H3a and H3b were supported. Additionally, the measurements of these constructs are mostly invariant (or partially invariant), with adequate parameter stability.
It’s easier for students to develop a relationship with a high school teacher rather than a college professor since they are liable for far less students. Most high school teachers put together a lesson plan, lecture it and expect their students to recall it properly when a test is given. For the most part, a student is able to approach the teacher and address his or her concerns, unlike a typical college professor. Teachers of the high school level are teaching for one reason and one reason only, to prepare you for both college and life. They are willing to put forth their best effort while assisting you because they know your future depends on the quality of education in which you received. There has been multiple instances in which I had questions regarding either an assignment or project, so I went to the designated teacher. Nine times out of ten the given teacher will assist you and answer your questions to the best of their abilities. When teachers took time out of there day to assist me time and time again, it made me realize that help is available, you just have to be willing to receive it. Assignments and projects always went smoothly for me because teachers always clarified information if it needed clarification. In grade school, we were taught to listen and behave; learn and memorize what was in the text books. In high school we started learning to be more independent in our studies, rather than relying on a teacher who still helped and taught, but not like we had in grade school. In college, professors will treat their students as adults and nobody is going to force someone to go to class. Professors also don’t tell students exactly what will be on a test. It is up to the student to determine what information from the following chapter(s) could be on the test and to study it. If a student. In college, students are dismissed by the professor. For example, if a student completed a test, they don’t have to wait for everyone else to complete the test, they are free to leave. In high school however, going to class is mandatory and it is very structured. If a student doesn’t show up, the school will call and inform a guardian their child missed class. Students in high school, are pampered. Teachers will extend due dates, prepare students for exactly what will be on an upcoming test, and remind the students of upcoming tests and quizzes. Also in high school, classes are dismissed by a bell or a clock. However, on the first day of school teachers commonly say, “The bell doesn’t dismiss you, I do.” The bell indicates that students are able to leave class at that

Every time that a student procrastinates, or puts off something that they highly dislike, they toughen their habitual ways of not doing what they are supposed to do. Now that we see how procrastination is done and how college students can significantly decrease its effect in their day-to-day life, they will experience a greater sense of independence and personal gratification. College students have to continue to keep working and striving forward. They will still procrastinate every once in a while but college students will be much more aware of their procrastination habits and they will be able to resolve their issues as soon is it occur. In high school, the teacher pretty much babysits the students. The teacher always has to get on their students to pay attention in class, to do their work, and to stay awake during the lecture. Also high school teachers don’t really expect their students to read ahead in their textbooks. In college the professors are very different. College professors expect the best from their students, because they know that their students are spending a very large sum of money in their education. The professors expect their students to read their textbooks before class, and to do their homework. They also expect their students to stay awake during the lecture, if not they will kick the student out. College professors don’t care if a student doesn’t turn in their homework or if they forget to read a chapter in their textbook. College professors are not worried about this because it’s not their grade, they already have their degree. Also, college professors won’t accept any late work. They also are very strict on absences and most college professors will rarely give any extra credit to replace a student’s absences. One way to compare and contrast high school life and college life is to look at the differences between high school teachers and college professors. High school teachers verbally explain what is expected throughout the duration of the semester. College professors give a syllabus which covers assignments and conduct. Taking class attendance is also done differently. Attendance is expected in high school with parent and administration approving any absences. In college, attendance is expected but students are solely responsible for attending classes. Another way to compare and contrast the two is to look at the teaching styles and methods. High school teachers teach from the textbook giving little if any notes at all. College professors teach lecture style requiring a great deal of note taking.
Teachers in college for the most part don't really care whether or not you are in class. All it means is that if you are not there, you are going to get a failing grade if it happens too often. Missing too many classes will cause the teacher to withdraw you from the class, resulting in a failing grade. If you do it the smart way you would withdraw from the class yourself because then it would have no negative effect on your overall G.P.A. In high school the teachers are always on you about attendance. If you miss too many days you can fail. If you are not in class they want to know why. They also want a note from your parents excusing you from class. Some schools even want your parents to call you in sick if you are not going to be there. If you do not have a note they can write you up for an unauthorized absence and, give you a detention.
College students have to balance work, family, and college activists and any delaying behavior from within can cause an unbalance. This behavior is called procrastinating and it can lead to problems in many areas of a student’s life. College students are the worst hit by this type of behavior because they have many different activities to focus on instead of studying. These activities can cause students to study when they have time which often is usually too short amount of time. There is a time and place to relax and enjoy life, but if students focus on playing around instead of getting their assignments done, college life will be stressful.

Obviously, there is a major difference in the level of academic responsibilities between high school and college. In terms of expectations and responsibilities placed upon you in high school, they are more of a guideline and carefree, whereas college it is more complex and is individually based. What I mean by this is that in high school you can count on parents and your teacher in order to guide you in setting priorities and remind you of your responsibilities. It was part of your parents’ and teachers’ responsibility to make sure that you succeed in high school. Students have fewer duties to worry about, and fewer requirements where they could depend on others for help. In class, you are usually told by the teacher about what you need to study and how you are doing with your grades and attendance. Furthermore, in high school, many of the classes are assigned to you, and you are supplied with many of the materials and books. It’s an entirely different story once you enter college.
