All aspects of SCU's strategic vision appeal to me as I believe all of them are important. I believe that all people strive for competence. Competence guarantees success and with it, one has no barriers to their opportunities. Conscience is important in life. One needs to be able to judge right from wrong. Compassion is also a crucial aspect of life. There are many issues in our society and I feel that if people looked at them with compassion many conflicts can be solved or avoided. One vision appeals to me more than the others and that is cultivating knowledge and faith to build a more humane, just, and sustainable world. I feel that building a more humane, just, and sustainable world is very important in this day and age. There are many
Both, vision and mission statements provide purpose to organizations. Therefore, they should set the foundation for the strategic planning process. However, if and organizations strategic direction evolves, leaders should consider revising the organization’s mission and vision
Background Information In implementing a strategic plan for Coastal Medical Center, our consulting team has conducted many analyses and formed numerous strategies in order for Coastal Medical Center to be successful. There are many issues this world faces such as pollution, car fatalities, not taking care off the world etc.. People try and show their concerns for these issues by starting organisations or having protests and just trying to get people to realise that what they are doing is wrong and that we cant continue to live like this.
St. Michael’s Vision, “Creating a healthier world, through our culture of caring and discovery” and Values, which include “Human Dignity, Excellence, Compassion, Social Responsibility, Community of Service, Pride of Achievement”, help support their Mission Statement.
Most of the common activities in our daily life present an opportunity to negotiate, whether or not we realise it. Meta-reflecting upon my negotiation experiences during the class and other activities have led me to identify few common themes. In this assignment, the two themes I will be discussing are (1) the importance of being clear on the strategic intent and big picture thinking, and (2) the importance of managing the negotiation process through understanding the various phases and visualising negotiation as a train journey.
One of the first steps in developing an organization is to develop the vision, mission and philosophy of the organization. Vision statements are used to define the goals of an organization. The mission statement of an organization is a brief statement that explains the purpose that an organization exists. The organizational philosophy outlines the set of values and beliefs that controls the operations of an organization (Marquis, 2011). UMC’s vision is “to be nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, medical education, and biomedical research.” Their mission statement is “to serve through healing, education, and discovery.” The philosophy of UMC is “to value integrity, excellence, compassion, innovation, collaboration and dedication.” (www.mc.uky.edu)
My vision is to have a plan for where my life is heading, to be able to adapt to the inevitable changes that arise, and keep my values in tact that help me to live a meaningful and valued life.
An issue that absolutely has an importance to me is Deporting Immigrants. People come here for a reason and mostly here for a better life and pay. I see on the news that many people are getting deported and makes me highly upset because my parents could be in that position one day. My parents came here when they were in their teens. They work extremely hard to provide everything i need but in return they want me to go to college and have a good job that pays well. They show me that working hard can make anything happen. Deporting immigrants are separating families and makes children grow up without their parents. The president doesn’t like immigrants because he thinks that “They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing
We have many global problems, but we are lacking global institutions powerful enough to effectively address such problems as global terrorism, human rights abuses, global warming, the ozone layer, pollution of the oceans and rivers, arms trade, child soldiers, war, the weaponization of space, and nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction. Finding a way to participate in solving these and other global problems is one of the great challenges of our time.
Protect oceans from overfishing and establish a global whale sanctuary. Protect the world's remaining old growth forests.
The most obvious reason that the environment has moral significance is that damage to it affects humans. Supporters of a completely human-centered ethic claim that we should be concerned for the environment only as far as our actions would have a negative effect on other people. Nature has no intrinsic value; it is not good and desirable apart from its interaction with human beings. Destruction and pollution of the environment cannot be wrong unless it results in harm to other humans. This view has its roots in Western tradition, which declares that “human beings are the only morally important members of this world” (Singer p.268).
...at we need. Clean up the rivers and streams, lakes and oceans. Reduce the use of chemicals and pesticides. But society must do something, even if only donating money to an organization who does. Just do something to help, before even more animals disappear, before all the fish and forests are gone, before the earth has so little diversity that only humans remain.

On the whole, I think that it is our moral obligation to protect the environment and its inhabitants. We must all contribute in protecting the nature. No matter how small or insignificant our actions may seem, they matter. It only takes 1 person to start a movement that could possibly lead to a major environmental breakthrough. Are you going to be that person?
There are lots of environmental issues going on globally. The earth faces problems such as pollution, global warming, waste disposal, and loss of biodiversity. These are just a small amount of issues out of the so many. These environmental problems pose an abundant amount of risk to the health of humans and animals. There needs to be a solution to all these problems and that is by informing others, so that way everyone can make the environment a better place.
