There is a large amount of character in 'To Kill a Mockingbird' who have an important role. All the characters have their own unique character and as the author stated, everyone in Maycomb County are somehow related since people were so close that they marry within their families.
“Because if Simon, Finch’s industry, Atticus was related by blood or marriage to nearly everyone in the town” – Chapter 1, page 5
The main character, Scout is the narrator of the story and is used as a naive narrator as everything is seen through a six year old's perspective. She frequently asks questions without hesitating, as she is too young to know them, which supports the context of the naive narrator.
Jem, Dill, Atticus, Boo and Tom plays an equally important role as Scout does. …show more content…

She is portrayed as both her adult self and her younger self when she recounts her past; while recalling the past she clearly understood everything that had happened, though her child self didn't. She is mostly shown as the 6-7 year old girl who is very energetic and finds being called a 'girl' as an insult. Scout acts as an observer just to describe the situation so the reader is able to comprehend even if she has no idea what is going on. Her naive nature also causes her to question a lot of difficult things like 'what is rape".
