A lot of schools have considered to get school uniforms, but the students do not agree, as well as the parents, they have some arguments.
Takes Away Individuality
If kids don’t want to wear uniforms then they shouldn’t have to. Kids don’t want to be the same as everyone else. If someone makes kids wear uniforms, then they’re going to start acting out because they can’t be themselves around teachers and peers. They need to express themselves. They have their own personality, and need to be who they are or want to be. The school board has a lot of control over kids but they shouldn’t have control over what they wear. If kids wear uniforms, then they’re not going to be able to deal with anyone different from them. Some kids even find them uncomfortable, and others might even be allergic to the material. They probably wouldn’t even want to come to school if they’re being forced to do something they don’t want to do in the first place. Letting kids pick out their own clothes gives them a decision to make, to be given a choice that’s completely up to them and having that taken away, they’d have close to nothing, they’d be almost completely controlled by the school, and these people aren’t even their family. Students might even feel self conscious about themselves. It might set a lot of kids over the edge and behavioral problems would begin to kick in, and no matter what everyone dresses like, people are always going to find ways to judge others, whether it’s hair color, weight, height, etc. No matter what, there are still going to be cliques. The uniforms are not changing anything besides the students’ opinions about the school and their mood. It can stress the kids, and if some get stressed too much, they can have a breakdown, it can ...

...doing a lot for their good. They’re not going to get used to seeing people who are different from them.
In conclusion, there are a few good reasons why school uniforms are completely unnecessary: they take away individuality, the cost is outrageous, and they all suffer for a few people’s mistakes. If it were up to the parents, this shouldn’t even be a topic to discuss.

Doing research I have found out that the university of Missouri assistant professor, David Brunsma said that he conducted a survey. In that survey it showed that bringing in uniforms made academics worse in schools. David tested the school with uniforms for half a year and the results said that students did better without uniforms. However this survey was only conducted in one school. In 39 other schools in Ohio they say that they had better attendance and graduation rates. Uniforms are already taking place in twenty different states and most of them have good opinions.

Schools have recently decided to make uniforms for kids, but only for kids whose parents want them to have uniforms. Uniforms should not be used for many different reasons. They take away kids creativity. Normal cloths shows personality. Uniforms may increase bullying and violence. The cost might be to much for a family.

School uniforms also reduce ones ability to choose clothing that fits individual comfort needs. Above all, school uniforms even go against the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, which is about the establishment of religion and free speech. School uniforms are affecting the amount of money spent on clothing in a negative way. Many people think parents/guardians are saving money, but really, they are just spending more money. If one were to think about it, school uniforms can’t be worn outside of school.
Why would students want to wear uniforms? The first reason school uniforms should not be allowed is that they aren't creative. School uniforms don’t allow students to dress and express themselves the way they want to. There are a lot of people who like to dress very fashionably
School uniforms in public schools are becoming increasingly popular across the nation. The public school system would benefit greatly if this policy were to be adopted. Opposition is always a factor when trying to make changes. Taking all things into consideration, the positive effects would be far greater than the negative effects. School uniforms should be required in public schools because their use would lead to higher education, less violence, and lower cost to parents.
The most common argument against school uniforms is that they take away the students right to self-expression. Yes, school uniforms limit what the students have to wear, but students can still have their own ways of self-expression. Students can still express their style of choice with their hair and what accessories they wear. Their shoe choice is also a form of self-expression. Students can make the uniforms their own style without breaking the dress code. School is a place to learn. Outside of school, self- expression is limitless. Some parents also believe that it could interfere with students' natural behavior to experiment with different identities. Having uniforms in schools helps erase the defined line of the social classes. Typically, popular kids in the higher social classes wear the trendiest clothing...

Bill Clinton once said, “People will learn to evaluate themselves by what they are on the inside to evaluate themselves by what they are on the inside, instead of what they’re wearing on the outside, then our public schools should be able to require students to wear school uniforms.” Public schools across America are searching to improve safety, school belonging and also help parents save money & students save time getting ready. One way to improve these issues would be to implement a uniform policy. The adoption of school uniforms policies will reach what public schools across America are searching for.
Currently, in America there is an and ongoing debate regarding school uniforms in public schools. School uniforms are becoming extremely popular among public schools. Students and most parents don’t necessarily agree with school uniforms; they may think that school uniforms take away the right of self-expression, but it doesn’t. School uniforms aren’t a negative thing to have. Uniforms may limit what students have to choose from to wear each day to school, but it doesn’t limit them from getting an education.
I don’t think children or teens should have to wear school uniforms. It deprives them of their freedom of speech. They should have the right to wear what they want when they want. The uniforms are degrading and appalling. Everything would be dull and boring if everyone looked the same and wore the same stuff! Whatever happened to our U.S. Constitution? Some kids become stressed out and could get depressed because they cannot choose what they can wear, In Our own country? The land of the free and the home of the brave and we can’t even choose what we wear? The effect would be: students becoming angry and violent, and worst case scenario, suicide.
School Uniforms Should Not Exist Private schools have required school uniforms for many years now. In today’s public school system, many of them have switched to or considered school uniforms due to troubles happening in the school system. Public schools should not require or change to school uniforms because it goes against self-expression, it does not reduce bullying, and students hate them.
