Dog has been “man’s best friend” for ages. Around Franklin County, almost everyone owns a dog. Since many owners are farmers, people in the Franklin County area need a dog who will be loyal, can herd livestock if need be, and is obedient to its master. The best breed of dog that fits this description is the Blue Heeler, also known as the Australian Cattle Dog. Though these dogs are better suited for the rural areas, many people in the city own them as well. Sprightly yet independent, the Australian Cattle Dogs are great companions for single people and families alike. Blue Heelers are the all-around best breed of dog in Franklin County.

The Crips, as we learned in module 3 are one of the most notorious black or predominately African American gang founded in Southern Los Angeles, California in 1969. This gang was co-found by 16-year-old Raymond Washington and Stanley Tookie Williams III. Even before the Crips however, there was a gang known as the Hoover Groovers. The Hoover Groovers would later form an alliance with the Crips and change their name to Hoover Crips.

In the beginning, Smalls was new to the neighborhood and no one wanted to be friends with him except for Benny. Then Benny taught Smalls how to play baseball. Benny then joined the sandlot boys. That shows good friendship to people because friends are there to help and be with people. Especially since Smalls came during the summer time which means he cannot meet new people like he would at school. Benny shows a good example to people here. Where people should talk to someone who is alone and get to know them. Another great example is when the sandlot boys were arguing with the young boys who played baseball as well but had matching socks and uniforms. They showed people the true meaning of friendship because they were on each other's side.

This parasite is spread through the bite of sandflies. There are three different types of infections and they each show varying degrees of severity. The cutaneous form produces mild skin ulcers, mucocutaneous produces ulcers in the mouth and nose, and the visceral form of the disease starts with skin ulcers and then fever, low red blood cell count, and an enlarged spleen and liver. The parasite is detected by a microscope and visceral can also be found by doing blood tests. 12 million people are in infected in 98 different countries and 2 million new cases are found every year. The disease also kills around 20 to 50 thousand people a year.
The Scottsboro trial of 12 young African American boys over the alleged rape of rape of 2 white girls was completely unjust, because of lies, ignored the facts, and racism. For example, the first thing to remember is that the boys were put on trial for “raping” two white girls on a train in Tennessee. The girls claimed that the boys made 6 of the 7 seven white boys on the train jump off, then the boys assaulted the women. First of all, during the trial, Victoria Price gave a testimony that crucified the boy, and yet getting sympathy from the jury. Her testimony was not the same as the other girl’s, Ruth Bates. When this happened no one went back to check if any of their stories were true. This was unjust, because in normal cases, without racism, there
Whitney Houston and Bobbi Brown are seemingly distinct names in being award-winning musicians and have entertained us for generations, but their daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, lived her life in the shadows of her parent’s success. Bobbi Kristina Brown, who was an only child from Whitney Houston and Bobbi Brown, died the same way her mother, Whitney Houston did. Did Whitney Houston’s abuse of drugs influence Bobbi Kristina’s ideology of coping with depression? My research indicates that: first, Bobbi Kristina’s death was connected to her mother’s death. Secondly, how depression might have played a part in her sudden death and thirdly, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s abuse of drugs, leading to her death.
University 101 has helped me acclimate me to college life at Northern Illinois University. When I first started here, I was extremely nervous for the new environment I was going into rather blindly. However, after taking UNIV 101, I learned some valuable information to better myself for my future college endeavors. Thanks to my professor, peer educator, classmates, the novel, and the text book, I will be able to continue throughout college with confidence and stability.
When I was young they used to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and until six years ago I never knew. It took me exactly eleven years until I figured out the one thing I wanted to do with my life. The very first show I performed in was Guys and Dolls, and from then on my devotion to acting only grew. I feel as though the Early Middle College Program is a good opportunity to further myself in my future goal of a Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre, as well as saving money while doing so. The Early Middle College Program is a very large stepping stone on my way to a Master’s Degree, and is the most effective way to get where I want to be.
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder, easily identified by its symptoms of white, scaly skin and red lesions, though not so easily cured or understood. In psoriasis, skin cells mature faster than the body can shed them, causing a buildup. Although there are many theories as to what the cause of such a disease might be – genetics, stress, or other triggers – no one is quite sure why the disease occurs, or what could be a possible way to fully cure it. In this essay we will explore the symptoms, types, and effects of this condition, and also some of the known treatments.
