Recommended: How to solve poverty
I want to start a movement, I want this to be a slogan, a rallying cry for all those hardworkers in America who are seeking work, full time or part! It is a rough economy, no one needs to be reminded. But because of that, two things occur. a. Many people become desperate, rightfully so and b. Many employers gain the upper hand because of that. They start to be a little rude or inconsiderate or overly demanding, etc. even of basic jobs that many people might shun in a better economy. Not that I am trying to be overly prideful, as I myself will do many jobs, but I hope you understand what I mean. To those who are unemployed: Have you had to deal with a rude interviwer? If you have been out of the job market for long enough, I am sure you have had your stories! …show more content…
Treat us with respect, thoughtfully consider the hard work we put into our resumes, cover letters and applications and if we have an interview, be considerate enough to give us a response either way! And especially, do not be rude. Because we are not just a potential employee, we are also a potential customer! Don't you want people coming back? I will still patronize a restaurant or store even if they do not hire me, if they treat me with dignity. But, word of mouth can work both ways, so lets start spreading the word about those companies who are not so dignified, and let us find ways, even in this economy, to give power back to the people who are working so hard to find
Even though monopolies are illegal, public corruption allows companies to form and continues to be a problem today. In an article published by the Los Angeles, Anh Do
When going into a store, one would expect that the employees would know what they are doing and are reliable. When companies hire based on looks, they do not realize that although the person may look astonishing, they may not have the competence to complete the job. The person may be the most gorgeous person on Earth, but they may not have the skill set required for the job. For those who...
Immigrants. People who we natives have labeled as “aliens” and “foreigners” at a time when we should’ve welcomed them with open arms, when we should’ve embraced them with our compassion and considered them with our empathy. Isn’t this humanity? Treating others as we expect to be treated? But what have we done besides ostracizing them? Nothing. Despite the many benefits that they bring along with them, we insist on focusing all attention to the few temporary disadvantages that they have. In reality, if we natives had conducted the least bit of professional research of the benefits versus the disadvantages of immigrants, we would come to the realization that their benefits outweigh their costs, and that they are much more valuable to our society, then we expected them to be.
Anxiety. Regret. Frustration. Restlessly glancing at the clock, cringing every time I do. Staring at a blinking cursor, waiting for inspiration. Spending a restless night trying to squeeze out something to turn in the next day. This is a process known all too well by me, and most high schoolers in America, one known as: Procrastination. Procrastination is something easily avoided, and yet, seems to be one of the biggest causes for low grades in most students’ lives. It’s a tempting prospect, putting off your responsibilities to do something enjoyable, but it should be avoided at every possibility. Procrastination causes your grades to suffer, causes your mental health to suffer, and causes you to learn bad habits for the future.
On Tuesday October 29th 1929 the stock market crashed 15% to trigger to what we now know as the great depression. The depression hit canada hard, no one buying raw materials and all american factories located in Canada were shut down leaving the people of Canada unemployed, poor and hungry. The depression had forced people out of homes and into unemployment camps. Why did things come to this ? Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King Believed unemployment is seasonal and refused to help while so many struggled. Then elected was Bennett a rich Lawyer who knew nothing about running a country resulting in many failed plans. To end all of Canada’s responses the government raised tariffs cutting us off from the world. Though the Canadian government may have tried their responses to the great depression were inadequate and failed to bring the canadian economy back.
all worthy people living in a jubilant but melancholy world, why should anyone get worse penalties than another? Some may feel like celebrities should have longer jail sentences, higher tickets, and pay more money for fines. Others think that celebrities should be treated fairly like everyone else. Honestly nothing determines who a celebrity is, what actually determines who a celebrity is? Celebrities are all regular people however some receive a high amount of bad publicity plus the sentence or what they owe.
When I was a young, naive, and reckless preteen I was arrested for stealing panties. Yes, panties. You see, I was under the impression that attending junior high without proper matching undergarments would immediately be cause for ridicule from my fellow classmates in the locker room. However, my mother did not see the necessity for such things and refused to spend money on costly, unnecessary expenses. I desperately needed them and shoplifted a lovely red pair. I was caught, arrested, ashamed and gracefully served my sentence with a newfound respect for the law. No matter how severe or minute a crime is, it should not go unpunished. A teenager committing petty theft and an immigrant crossing our borders illegally are both crimes in the United States. Billions of dollars and resources are spent each year in an effort to apprehend vagrant aliens who illegally cross our borders into the United States. Illegal immigration is a burden thrust upon the United States yielding
Veterans are viewed as the strongest people in the United States. They constantly deal with daily struggles such as disability and unemployment after their services. After serving in a branch of the United States military, many veterans have trouble finding work. While there are, at times, things that need to be overcome for veterans to be able to work, they are often skilled workers and deserve the opportunity to succeed in the civilian workplace.
Racism? Racism my fucking ass. This is about protecting OUT COUNTRY from ILLEGALS WHO ARE BRINGING IN CRIMES AND DRUGS INTO OUR COUNTRY. Any country, with any sense would have a stringent immigration law. You're right, there will always be illegals here. The goal is to endeavor to make it difficult for these illegals they enter our country. If these illegals want to come back to the U. S they can do so...
Homelessness is not a disease. It is not a virus, not a condition, nor bacteria. Homelessness is a state where a person does not have a permanent residential. This includes people who live in shelters, motels and on the streets. They do not have homes because of the rising prices of housing. In New York City alone, 61,931 people are homeless as of September 2016. This is an epidemic in New York, not because of the sheer number of homeless people, but because of the lack of support from the local government. Homeless people are ignored by citizens, attacked by youth and abused by police officers. The New York Police Department even instituted Move Along Policy where homeless people who are idle for too long are forced to move their locations. This could be sitting on a bench for too long or falling asleep in a train station. So displaced citizens are not only homeless, but they are not allowed to reside in familiar locations without fear of being harassed by policemen. The youth of New York City find entertainment in harming homeless people. They would attack them, throwing bottles at them, hitting them, in hopes of knocking them unconcious. And these homeless people who do not have jobs often ask for money in the streets. And people just walk past them without even bothering with them. Because
According to Shipler, the working poor need remedies to improve their circumstances. Throughout his novel, Shipler addressed potential solutions that seemed to adjust the lives of the working poor. To help combat low self-esteem and competence more programs should be created by the state or local communities that could be created to assist the working poor in getting their GEDs, personal hygiene if necessary, learning skills that are necessary for job training, balancing daily personal finances, and learning how to eat healthier on a limited income. The more confidence an individual has the more likely they will be outgoing or assertive and will be more willing to apply for jobs. Applying jobs is intimidating for a college graduate who has
As Canadian's fertility rate fells, baby boomers retires, immigration and foreign workers becomes very important for the increase of labor demands in the Canadian's job market. The government is planning to reduce the application waiting time and therefore there will be more newcomers coming in the next fewer years. Canadian companies will then have many experienced and foreign trained applicants where they can help Canadian companies to increase their foreign trade and to build a better relationship with the other country. However, new comers have difficulties in finding employment because of their unrecognized foreign qualifications, non Canadian work experienced and the lack of support in the settlement programs where they get help to find employment.
Homelessness Homelessness is a problem that runs all around the world. Many people are involved in this crisis, and it can’t be resolved easily. There are shelters for homeless people but it hasn’t developed and the shelters can’t help everyone. It is a huge condition and we should be looking for a solution. Homeless people are suffering from many things such as sleeping on the floor with many different weather situations, and are begging for money to get food and water.
In every work place you will find employees who are happy with what they do and employees who are just there to complain and collect a paycheck. My topic for this discussion will cover job dissatisfaction.
It’s hard to live a normal healthy life without a job and money. There are a variety of reasons why people are unemployed. Being unemployed can cause one to experience financial, emotional, and personal problems.
