Satire Essay On Illegal Immigration

Are illegal immigrants a risk or threat to the United Stated of America? Illegal immigration is one of the most talked subjects in social media, and news. Immigration is a serious issue that effects people in their daily lives and it takes an emotional toll on families. When we think of Illegal aliens we automatically think of Mexican immigrants, why do you think that is? Why do we not think of Russian Immigrants, or Asian immigrants? Many people stereotype Mexican immigrants as lazy criminals that are taking citizens jobs. People think of these immigrants in such a negative and derogatory manner. These people are labeled as criminals, but the truth is not all Mexican immigrants are criminals, rapist, drug dealers, or terrorist.

according to the American Immigration Council. “A variety of different studies using different methodologies have found that immigrants are less likely than the native-born to engage in either violent or nonviolent “antisocial” behaviors”, which would explain why the crime ratio between immigrants and the native-born is so broad. The reality is that most of the crime is not being committed by immigrants. “In each year immigrants are less likely to be incarcerated than natives with the gap widening each decade. By 2000, immigrants have incarceration rates that are one-fifth those of native-born” (Nowrasteh). As a matter of fact, most of the massacres done in the United States where done by Anglo Americans or American-born and not Immigrants, for example, Columbine High School Shooting, the Aurora theatre Shooting, Sandy Hook Elementary, Oklahoma City Bombing, and many more that could be mention. All the criminals or terrorist were American Nationality and not Mexicans or Hispanic Nationality. The media does not label these attacks as terrorist attacks, instead they are labeled as something much less harsh.

Not all immigrants are criminals, rapist, drug dealers or terrorist, and they do not pose a risk to the United States of America. This country accounts for less than 10% of American Indian and Alaskan Natives, which means that most of the country is immigrants. This country was built by immigrants, and accounts with more than 42.2 million immigrants who live in this country and that is why is called the land of opportunity. There are many reasons why immigrants come to the land of opportunity whether it be in search of a better life, poverty, or health issues. Immigrants are less likely to commit a crime than an Anglo-American because, they have too much to loose if they break the law and little to nothing to gain. Immigrants are not given any rights, so they can't start off in a good job, much less a job that isn’t in poor working conditions and more than likely they are being paid significantly less, these immigrants have to work much harder than the average American just for below minimum wage and some type of stability. There are immigrants who don't want to get in trouble with the law, have left behind their loved ones, their homes and decided to risk it all in search of a better life. That is because this country has more opportunities and better resources to offer than in their country of origin. These immigrants just want to live like regular Americans, with a stable job and good income.
As a matter of fact, our 45th president Mr.

Donald J. Trump has had many statements about the “issue” of immigration. His description toward immigrants, especially of the Mexican Origin were as follows: “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending there best. ... They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.” I believe Mr. Trump does not know what he is talking about, let me explain why: Firstly, being a rapist or criminal is not specific to whether you are an immigrant or not. Secondly, Mexico is not at all “sending” any people to the United States, it’s the people who want to better themselves and their families that come to the United States, of course there is the small majority of people who are here for the wrong reasons, but you can’t just group a whole race into one category. Lastly, Trump’s statement of “They’re bringing crime” is his personal opinion, because we have already established the statistics and facts to refute this statement.

People from other countries come to the United States to try and start over, rather than to bring their problems with them, they try to get rid of them. These immigrants’ willingness, and diligence to attempt to better themselves and their families to achieve the American dream, does not make them criminals. It makes them hopefuls and that is what, in my opinion, many Americans need a refresher

on.
Given these points, facts prove that many Americans do not want to face reality. That reality being that the problem comes from within and not from the outside. It is easy to stereotypes immigrants, but thanks to all the research and studies that have been done, it is clear to see that these are more than just personal thoughts. If only the United States citizens would acknowledge that these immigrants are hard working individuals, trying to make it in the world and not all immigrants are criminal, rapist, and drug dealers. Now, do you really think, given all this information, that immigrants pose a risk or threat to the United Stated of America?
