Sanchez Family Case Study In this paper the clinician will be identifying the issues and problems of the Sanchez family. The clinician will prioritize the issues of the case. Along the way they will decide what issues can be resolved clinically and what issues require systemic intervention. Finally, the clinician will decide which family member illicit the least sympathy or empathy. Issues and Problems Hector Sanchez is dealing with stress and health issues. Mr. Sanchez has hypertension and adult-onset diabetes. He is under extreme stress at work, with the uncertainty of job security, racism, and the economy. He is also very worried about the assurance of his family in the event of him becoming disabled or his untimely death. Even though he is under pressure about his health and financial insecurities, Mr. Sanchez often skips meals at work, which is not healthy for a diabetic, Lieberman (2018). Carmen was diagnosed with having a hearing impairment at a young age after being unresponsive to the loud noise of a heavy pan hitting the floor. She learned American Sign Language (ASL) she is still unable to communicate effectively with the rest of the family because they’re not affluent in ASL, Lieberman (2018). Carmen is an “A” student and has ambitions to attend college away upon graduation. She is worried about the financial burden her family will endure if she goes away to college and about her inability to contribute to the family if she leaves, Lieberman (2018). The caseworker will use the clinical approach to help Carmen research all resources she needs to well.
