Some of the benefits of the cities location near the direct center of North America include attracting global businesses to set up headquarters here and have an efficient supply chain to distribute products and services. Not only does it make a good place for global businesses to reside, it also is good for more regional Texas businesses because of its position in comparison to the rest of major Texas cities. San Antonio sits upon a large limestone deposit call the Balcones Escarpment which has created a major industry in this area by supplying the majority of Texas with its natural resources. The climate in San Antonio is different from the rest of Texas because it is in a transition zone of climates. Within 140 miles of the Gulf of Mexico the area is subject to heavy humidity which gives this area a humid subtropical climate classification. San Antonio, Texas-- The Battle of the Alamo, a battle in San Antonio, against the Mexicans broke out, marks the most important of the battles so far during the Texas fight for independence. The battle began on February 23, 1836 and ended two days ago on March 6, 1836, lasting for 13 days. General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, leader of the Mexican force, planned to seize the fort with an army of thousands. Unprepared, the Texans had an army of around 200 men, including well- known congressman David Crockett and James Bowie and not so well-known William Barret Travis.
Texas prides itself on a strong heritage and history. Events that happened when Texas fought to gain independence will forever remain preserved and idolized in the heart of every true Texan. One of the most famous events that occurred during the fight for independence happened at a place that was not well-known and did not hold much importance at the time, but because of the events that occurred there, it will forever be a place of remembrance and pride. This place is known as The Alamo. This paper focuses on the articles written by Brian C. Baur, Richard R. Flores, and Paul Andrew Hutton over The Alamo.
The oil boom is a driving force for urbanization, because it leads to population growth in cities like Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Austin. Houston, the largest city in Texas, is one of the world leaders in the petrochemical industry, and its port provides access to the world market. Dallas is the commercial center of the city of Texas, with an emphasis on banking and real estate development. San Antonio of the economy focused on national bases, educational institutions, tourism and medical research. Together, these cities became political position and can help us understand the political economy of the state as a
...h of the Alamo caused a drop in morale for the Mexicans but lifted the Texan’s fighting spirits even more. The Battle of San Jacinto ended the conflict rather abruptly and surprisingly. The victory at San Jacinto is still today one of the most well orchestrated attacks ever. Thus, because of the bravery of the Texans and their leaders, the Texas Revolution, even though not immediately, was a great success and allowed the Texans to pursue that great American dream of Life, Liberty, and Freedom.
Texas was never a big empty space. The Spaniards and later the French who came here discovered cultures that were centuries old. But history, and the museum itself, begins with European colonization. The history of Texas, one of the signs says, was shaped by the way the different groups of people who came to Texas responded to the land and to each other. So land, and interaction between different groups of people, would be used a lot in the telling of this story of Texas, I assumed.
William Barrett Travis, the leader of the Texan defenders requested for help and his requests were ultimately not met much to his frustration. The spirits of the defenders as well as Travis however still kept strong through their commitment to their cause as well as their faith in God. In the end however, Santa Anna’s forces ended up taking over the fort and as a result of their unwavering belief for their independence all the men that fought within the battle were all killed. And so, after March 6th, 1836 the Battle of the Alamo came to a close. As of now, the Alamo serves as a tourist spot and a reminder of the Texan struggle for independence that, as per Sam Houston’s wishes, will be
Houston is the city that I used to live in on the outskirts of Houston; however, after I have blogged about Houston since day one I have learned a great deal in Houston and where it came from. Houston is a diverse city which is main up of all kinds of race, ethnic background, and religious. It is a great city to settle down and have a family in the suburban. It also a great city to start a career in the medical field, due to all the hospitals around the area. Houston is the “fourth most populous city in the nation” and “the largest in the southern U.S. and Texas.” Houston also has many places that you can go and explore and different attractions you can go to spend time with friends and family. Did you know Houston has “More than 90 languages
Texas is unlike any other culture in the United States. Inside the state of Texas, many different forms of dialect, ways of life, and even land forms can be found. Texas in unique because it is both a culture and a co-culture. Both platforms are very important to overall life in Texas. Texas residents are also very ethnocentric. Texas as a whole is considered a culture because, most residents share certain traits and beliefs. For example, Texas is set apart from other states because of the strong pride that comes with being a resident, their unique dialect, and the love for football. As a co-culture, Texas is represented by differencing land forms

The only disadvantage about the weather in Houston is that there is a bad humidity and summer heat. When our business decides to open another location in Houston we will use strategic alliances so we can lower our budget. By doing alliances with other companies then we would be able to lower our production and operation cost. At least if we try to lower our prices then we will be able to keep everything running smooth and at a higher efficiency. Another reason we are going to be expanding to Texas is the culture, population, and target market.
