Having the chance to connect with an audience fills my heart with joy. I am extremely interested in drama and have an unending passion to act. I consider myself to have a deep understanding of drama I gained from attending different drama schools and currently studying the Higher. I have a solid knowledge of English; I enjoy the theory aspect of it and know it is vital. I have a lot of experience with performing and auditions and have confidence that I can have a career in acting. I would love to study drama and achieve my highest performance level so I can have the confidence to expand on my skills and obtain a wider range of abilities. In my early years of Primary I developed an interest in drama however, I knew I needed training. I joined Pace in Primary 6 where I found my passion and it confirmed that this was what I wanted to do. For work experience in 2012, I toured round schools in Ayr with a local drama group, Fib, teaching drama. This was when I realised I wanted to teach drama in the future. Jacki, the woman I was working for, became an inspiraion to me as she opened Fib on her own and it is now a successful place for people to develop in acting and musical theatre. My biggest acting achievement is when I was accepted to perform in Her Majesty's Theatre at the West End in London with RTS performing an abridged version of Oliver. I played Fagin and spent weeks developing my character so I’d be happy with my performance. Knowing my strengths and weaknesses lets me know what I need to push myself to improve. I know I’m confident speaking or acting in front of big or small groups. I specifically enjoy script work and improvisation. However, I want to take the skills I currently have and develop them further to be at an achieving level. In school, I was a Prefect in both my senior years, House Capitain in 5th year and also awarded Dates- the highest honor my school gives to pupils. I was an active member in school shows and in the school choir where we have performed at different events like the Christmas lights being turned on at Yorkhill Hospital. Outside school, I go to drama classes and I love going to see shows, whether it’s amateur or professional, whenever possible. I love watching the actors and think about what I would do differently or note techniques I wouldn’t have thought of. I enjoy going to Romania every year to work with a charity, I’ve been every year since 2009 and now it’s like a second home. My experiences there have helped me mature a lot more than other’s my age, I have gained life experiences and became more down to earth in the process. This helps me in drama as I can bring back emotions I felt and channel it through into my acting- also, I can easily think of complex backgrounds for characters of all
