Marriage is legally defined as, a contract made in due form of law, by which a free man and a free woman reciprocally engage to live with each other during their joint lives, in the union which ought to exist between husband and wife. Many liberals argue that gay marriage should be legal in the United States. In the following essay I will attempt to argue why marriage between the same sexes is immoral and unjust.
The first point I will talk about is how marriage is a traditional bond between a man and a woman. In the bible; which contains most of the values this country was founded upon, stated that marriage is an institution that only a man and a woman can enter. The teaching of the bible says marriage is for procreation and the continuation of species, and people of the same sex cannot physically have children.
Families of same sex marriages are not the optimum environments to raise children. Children who are raised in a same sex environment are more inclined to pick up their parents sexuality and lifestyle. Children should be raised in a heterosexual environment, which is biologically correct. Children should not be brought up with a predisposition to be homosexuals or lesbians. The purpose of marriage is to protect our children not our sexual preferences.
“With the legalization of homosexual marriage, every public school in the nation will be required to teach that this perversion is the moral equivalent of traditional marriage between a man and a woman. Textbooks, even in conservative states, will have to depict man/man and woman/woman relationships, and stories written for children as young as elementary school, or even kindergarten, will have to give equal space to homosexuals1”
Same sex marriages will also put a strain on our social security and tax system. “How about the impact on Social Security if there are millions of new dependents that will be entitled to survivor benefits? It will amount to billions of dollars on an already overburdened system. And how about the cost to American businesses? Unproductive costs mean fewer jobs for those who need them. Are state and municipal governments to be required to raise taxes substantially to provide health insurance and other benefits to millions of new "spouses and other dependents"?2

Conclusion:
Marriage should be protected under the constitution and the civil rights of those mentioned should also be protected. I believe marriage is not a right; it is a privilege and structure in which to raise children in a conductive positive environment. Children should be raised to the standards and expectations of the majority in today’s society. Granting marriage to same sex couples will degrade society and lead to downward social changes. I am confident in the government’s leadership that they not take this controversial issue lightly and will do whatever necessary to preserve the values in which this great country we live in was founded upon.

What is marriage? For thousands years, marriage has been a combination between a man and a woman. When they love each other, they decide to live together. That is marriage. But what will love happen between two same sex persons? Will they marry? Is their marriage acceptable? It is the argument between two authors: William J. Bennett and Andrew Sullivan. The two authors come from different countries and have different opinion about same sex marriage. Sullivan agrees with the gay marriage because of human right, on the other hand, Bennett contradicts his idea because he believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Every sport has a strategy to win. On a competitive cheerleading team there is indeed is a way to keep score, therefore a way to win. There are many different score categories that make up a total score such as difficulty, style, tumbling, stunting, dancing, and sharpness of motions. When a squad messes up or makes mistakes, judges can deduct points from the overall score to make it known that a mistake occurred. This is similar to a foul or a flag on a play. There is a maximum amount of points that you can receive, but earning a perfect score is very hard to do. In the cheerleading world, the point system that can be so close and differ so little from other teams. Scores can differ as little as a tenth of a point to one hundred points or more. There is a winner and a loser just like sports that are classified as a sport or the ones that are competed on in the Olympics. Colleges are very biased when it comes to giving out scholarships and classifying cheerleading as a sport. It is very hard to attend college on a cheerleading scholarship. Girls that cheer for their schools are often ridiculed for wearing too much make-up, or being stuck up. A large number stereotypes are given to cheerleaders through movies. Several people say that the typical cheerleader is skinny, and un-intelligent. Not all cheerleaders have a specific image, they’re all unique. Cheerleaders can come in a multitude of different sizes and shapes. To be a cheerleader being skinny is not a requirement. An innumerable amount of schools have cheerleaders who are bigger, these cheerleaders are the base of the pyramid-literally. “Let’s go ladies! Push! That’s it!” All cheerleaders know these words and are probably used to hearing them from their coaches by now. Just like athletes in any other sport, members of Competitive Cheer squads clock many hours of intense training and often endure serious injuries. Usually the NCAA would take control of the regulation of the traditional sport to create a safer environment for the cheerleaders. Since the court has already ruled cheerleading is not a sport, the NCAA has two governing bodies that have been asking that certain forms of cheerleading be classified as an emerging sport. Which basically says that “it is a women's sport recognized by the NCAA that is intended to help schools provide more athletics opportunities for women and more sport-sponsorship options for the institutions, and also help that sport achieve the NCAA championship status (NCAA)”. “For a sport to be considered for the NCAA emerging sports for women’s list, 20 or more varsity teams and or competitive club/teams must currently exists on college campuses and the sport organization must submit a detailed proposal including possible general competition rules, suggested NCAA regulations and the sport format,” stated the NCAA on the topic of emerging sports. First off, cheerleading is a very orderly activity. In Sideline your order may be when to do what. When to shout and when to stunt all have specific times. You can’t shout when a player is hurt, you take a knee to be respectful. The rule applies regardless of what team he is on. You also can’t stunt or tumble when the ball is play. If it’s a down or a timeout, these are permitted. There’s also order like when and where to move in a cheer routine and what motions to do where. “Counts” are used as a timing technique to keep cheerleaders on time. Competitive Cheerleading has strict guidelines against routine music, uniforms, and overall performance. There can’t be any profanity or sexual content in your music and uniforms should fit correctly with everything covered. No risqué motions or dance are allowed either. On June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution guarantees the right for same-sex couples to marry. Should gay marriages be legal? Clearly we as a nation are undecided on this issue. Thirty-six states have passed legislation banning gay marriages, yet a few states have passed laws that allows homosexual couples the right to participate in civil unions. Several other states are also debating whether or not to allow these couples to marry. Unfortunately, the dispute has left the United States' homosexual community in an awkward position. There are some people who think that gay people have no rights and should never be allowed to marry, and others believe that gay people should enjoy the same rights and privileges as heterosexuals.
